Stopped here (at the cafe) on an intercity bus for lunch. I had a very tasty burger (massive actually), packed with tasty salad and delicious tomato chutney. The beef patty was juicy and very nice. Fries were included, and with a gluten free bun it came to $21 (great price for NZ). All around a really good meal, and very friendly staff.
Bright and cheerful vibes with lively art on the walls make for a consistently enjoyable experience and great coffee.

Fabulous café & staff! Opens at 8am. Our favorite stop when we are heading north as it's a bit tricky (but not impossible) when heading south because there's no pull off lane on SH1.
Fabulous presentation of cabinet food and blackboard menu. Food is quick to arrive. Great selection if you are gluten free or dairy free.
Comfy seating inside & out. Lovely countryside view if you eat outside. Plenty of parking. If the café is busy then be prepared to wait your turn if you need to use the bathroom.

We were driving out and about enjoying our time together ( it’s been 5 years since my last visit home to family) when we decided to stop here for lunch. I love this gem. Arrived for lunch to a new menu and was drawn to the curry but opted for a hearty soup and thats what I got. A deep broth, salty ham and vegetable, just what I needed to top up the immune sysytem and heal the gut. I am gluten free which was catered for easily and the whole of the top of the cabinet treats were all gluten free, a plum and almond cake quickly got added to my bill. My companion had the curry which I got to taste, next time! Master 11 loved his french toast and dash around the gardens. Staff are delightful and friendly plus I bought an aloe vera plant!.

We stopped here on Boxing Day because not only was it open (yay!) but it has a sign on the window advertising gluten free (double yay!). The menu says something along the lines of informing staff of dietary issues rather than listing GF options. My husband went to order and asked if the chicken burger could be done GF and was rudely told, “it’s a burger so no.” He then asked if the Thai beef salad could be done GF and was told “yes but the noodles will have gluten” so he asked if they could check. A long wait ensued and he was told no it’s not GF. So ordered the chicken salad. The salad was SWIMMING in what tasted like cheap supermarket salad dressing. Possibly the worst salad I’ve ever had. My son’s big breakfast had a hair in the poached egg. I wish we’d driven on. Great shop front, lovely garden area. Terrible food and service.

What a lovely little cafe this is. We were welcomed with a friendly smile which convinced us to stay and eat here. The room upstairs is sunny and warm with a view of the mountain.
The food came surprisingly quickly and we both agreed that this was one of the best cafe meals we've had for a while. The Angus burger was delicious and my wife really enjoyed the Gluten free quiche.

I come here from time to time. It's a favorite of a family member.
The selection is great, the food is good, the service is unfaultable the prices are reasonable until you only get a small serving.
I asked for a smoked chicken wrap, it was gluten free and absolutely delicious.
The only thing was that there was a miserable amount of filling. :-(
For the price, it wasn't good value.
In saying that, the coffee was great.

Christmas is a full on time for all and the staff at LA Bull (LA not Le) made it so much fun and yum for the Uzabus staff function. The wine selection at LA Bull is very unique. I recommend the Pino Gris, Diminion Road Vineyard.
And the staff are amazing.
Gluten free menu available too. Last word from my husband (our driver for the night) the coffee was amazing.
