A unique spot for a delicious breakfast experience with a 100% gluten-free menu, though be ready for some ordering quirks and potential wait times.

Overpriced, low end of mediocre food served quickly in a blandly functional atmosphere reminiscent of a generic hotel breakfast lounge.
Went here for breakfast. The food was... Not great. For a place called Biscuits and Waffles, we expected the biscuits and waffles to be pretty good. We were disappointed.
My waffle was merely bland and spongy, soaking up the maple syrup cup without really changing the flavor. Inoffensive, but not exactly bad. The bacon I had with it was a bit overcooked, but again, inoffensive.
My friend's biscuit and egg, however, was apparently rather unpleasant*. It was basically dry bread that tasted like too much baking soda in a vague biscuit shape. The egg was all right, nothing special.
*Apparently their biscuits are gluten free, so maybe that's just what those are like. I don't know.
All in all, it's far from the worst breakfast I've ever had, but I've also had much better at the same price point.
In a trendy spot with a large menu, it's a go-to for tasty allergy-friendly options and a chilled atmosphere perfect for hanging out.

Had to wait a few minutes to get seated as they were busy. Obviously popular so that's good. Lots of gluten free and vegan options which were clearly marked on the menu and much appreciated. The food was delicious and the staff helpful and friendly.
Want to clarify a review that is on here from a few years ago — but surfaces when you search for gluten free options in/around Richmond.
The team here is friendly and kind, but this shop DOES NOT offer gluten free donuts!! Posting this as a review to help others avoid my experience as there are not GF donuts. Thanks!
A must-visit spot with unique flavor combos, offering creamy, flavorful treats that cater to various dietary preferences and preferences.

Fresh and interesting flavor combinations. Something for everyone but you can also find a really elevated experience with something new each time. Easy to see allergens in each menu item, so great for gluten free, dairy free, vegan, and more.
so good and cute!! i recommend the iced chai latte, any of the croissants (especially the pimento cheese croissant) and the macarons are amazing (and gluten free!)
Cozy vibes and community spirit shine here, with a cool coat rack and support for local voices making it a must-visit spot!

Absolutely love this place! It’s quickly become my favorite cafe to cowork in. The staff is super friendly, the vibes are cozy, the food is comforting (they’re fantastic with gluten free people like me), the internet’s fast, and they obviously care a lot about the community. They even have a rack of coats available for people who need them and hot meals for anyone who’s hungry and can’t afford it. Totally the type of place we should be supporting!
Quirky vibe with tasty offerings and standout coffee; it’s a hidden gem for unique meals and great takeout options.

The place looks a bit random with the floor plane inside, but the service, coffee and food were pretty good!
Where is nice cashier person and pretty much everybody who worked there.
The sandwich is a bit small for the price, but they seem to use good ingredients. They have vegan options and gluten free.
A helpful spot with a welcoming vibe and great local tips, perfect for a quick break before your next adventure.

Came up from NC for that tattoo shop next store. My first time in Richmond! I stopped by for some food and drink before my tattoo appointment and the staff was super helpful and sweet! I’m gluten intolerant and when they ran out of gluten free bread for my breakfast sandwich they happily made me another, gluten-free meal. I’ve had other places cancel my order before for similar reasons, so the accommodation and extra effort was appreciated. One of the staff also gave me some great suggestions on places to go and things to do around town! I plan on coming back to Richmond in the future so I’ll definitely come back here for some breakfast to start my day right!
With cool decor, a vibrant atmosphere, and accommodating staff, this spot has become a favorite for breakfast lovers wanting a unique experience.

Delicious!!!!. They have non-dairy, gluten free ice cream, which are coconut based and variety of sorbets as well which is a plus. I've also had the Spotted Cow cake and Fruit Cake (blueberry/raspberry). Moist and flavorful. The cream cheese frosting is rich. I appreciate the fact that the fruit cake had real fruit layered in . You will pay a little more for cake slice compared to other places that sell cake but it did not disappoint and definitely not store bought taste. The variety of colored waffle cones is what my kids love. And they choose something different each time and never complain.
Step into a cozy vibe with character, perfect for coffee lovers and great for hanging out, reading, or catching up with friends.

My friend and I stopped here on a trip to Richmond and we fell in love with it as soon as we stepped inside! The atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming with plenty of seating! Service was friendly and attentive! They have a great selection of coffee, baked goods, and brunch items. We both got the Bee Sting shaken espresso and it was fabulous! The gluten free brownie I had was amazing and my friend got a honey chicken buscuit which she loved. Highly recommend!
Chill vibes with a relaxed atmosphere create the perfect backdrop for enjoying a variety of enticing menu options that cater to everyone.

I want to start by saying I have been to this restaurant before and have had MUCH different experiences. My rating is based on this experience.
We ordered wine and two of the artichoke appetizers. The bottle we ordered was mid priced, they were out of it and we were immediately pitched the most expensive bottle only to find out our server hadn’t even tried it. We went with a different bottle after that. We had 2 very serious allergies celiac (gluten) and dairy. Both appetizers came out with cheese, our server didn’t come back fifteen minutes after they arrived so someone went up to the bar and said something. It took 20 more minutes to receive a new plate without apology. When we got our check we were charged for THREE appetizers rather than TWO. When we said something the server said “well you ate them didn’t you?” The plates were never removed from our table, while two people had allergies no one else did. We left one of the appetizers with cheese untouched and only assumed we should eat them when the new appetizer was brought to the table and no one removed the old ones (so we ate the rest even though it was cold). Overall one of the worst Richmond experiences I’ve ever had. Before we left we were told they “offer happy hour”.
Enjoy a cozy vibe perfect for catching up with friends, featuring a great variety of bagels and a charming patio for nice days.

A wonderful place for bagels, breakfast, coffee, and meeting friends to catch up. I hadn't been here in years because I'm gluten intolerant, but I decided to take a pill and have a bagel and "shmear" (as they call it) anyway, and it was worth it. They have a great variety of bagels, although I do miss the cinnamon crunch flavor I used to get here. It was phenomenal. I didn't sit out on the patio since it was 97° out, but on nice days, that's always a pleasure.
I love this place! They have such an amazing selection of fresh food and drinks for such a small place! They also have this gluten free polenta bread that is to die for! The breakfast sandwiches and lattes are my favorites, but my partner says everything is good! Skip the Starbucks downtown and hit this place instead! From the food to the service, you won't be sorry!
Awesome oatmilk mocha latte and gluten free brownie. The ambience of this place is delightful...a historical firehouse converted into this light and airy gathering place ..beautiful vibes.
Always a pleasure. Incredible food, delicious drinks, and great service. Now with key gluten-free options, huge fan. I recommend Cafe Zata to everyone!
Indulge in a variety of fresh, delicious options, like the refreshing honey lavender latte and mouthwatering baked treats that impress everyone!

We ordered an iced Chai latte with oatmilk, an everything bagel with cream cheese, cappuccino and a gluten free lemon poppyseed muffin. It was all delicious! As a GF person, I loved the warm delicious muffin!! There are so many great options, all freshly made on site. Definitely recommend!
My grandmother and I enjoy food from here very often! Lots of options for her gluten free diet and we especially love the fresh fruit drinks. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is calm and inviting. You can have food delivered from Uber Eats or can dine in. Highly recommend for those looking for an authentic whole in the wall type of experience.
Nice friendly place. The two stars are for a lack of options for a gluten free diet as well as a lack of interest in trying to accommodate someone with special needs. The food may be great but all I felt safe getting was water. The server at the window seemed to think gluten free and vegan were the same thing. So, gf customers, beware!
Yummy, gluten-free, blueberry homemade muffins, excellent chai tea latte, friendly, staff, and sweet place to sit outside!

A good cider is my favorite drink. Zero sugar, zero gluten, guilt free and American as apple pie.
Visited here on coloring night! Painting is on Sundays, Thursdays Trivia.
This is my favorite new addition to carytown, it is the new neighborhood living room. Bring your spare board game to donate, come here with your DND group, or just to hang out with some friends. Nothing fancy but very cozy. Favorite new addition to Carytown
