Himalayan Spice is cozy and inviting with some of the best food and best service I've had in town. As a local, it's expensive to eat out so we when we do, we pick places where we know the food is fresh and delicious and where we will be well taken care of. That's why my group of friends all chose Himalayan Spice to have a dinner to kick off the holiday season.
The momo (house made dumplings) are always popular as a starter or a main course. This time I had chicken tika curry and it was as warm and rich as I had hoped it would be -- perfect for a wintry night!
We have a friend who is extremely sensitive to gluten and one nice thing is that she never has to worry when eating here -- you can let your server know about any food allergies or intolerances and they will take good care of you.
Highly recommend -- note there is an upstairs with good space to make big tables so larger groups are no problem. Be sure to book in advance!

I came for dinner based on a recommendation that they could accommodate gluten allergy/celiac on the chefs tasting menu (which I put in my reservation comments). When I arrived I felt they were knowledgeable about gluten allergies but not clear on what they would need to replace or change. They had items that were celiac friendly on the menu which was great, and I chose a spicy tuna roll. It was... Fine. For $52 I would have expected it to blow me away and i was pretty disappointed. My drink was fantastic.
A must-visit spot in Reykjavík for high-quality, innovative Icelandic cuisine with amazing tasting menus and unforgettable flavors.

Best meal in Iceland. The lamb was probably the best lamb I’ve ever had. Staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Partner has a gluten intolerance and they helped us navigate the menu and were great with substitutions. Highly recommend!
I would give it less stars if I could. If you are celiac or have a gluten intolerance DO NOT eat here. The items on the menu that are supposed to be gluten free are not. They do not accommodate preferences. The waitress that attended us could not answer any of our questions and had to keep going back and forth. She also forgot to write down one of our meals. Stay away!
