We booked the Oakingham Belle for my mothers wake. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. We had booked the gold buffet option with some extras. The food was wonderful and our family and friends said how delicious it was. The choice of dishes was extensive and catered for everyone including gluten free. There was plenty of it too. I would like to thank especially Carly the assistant manager, who liaised with me supporting my booking and Dan the head chef for the wonderful food. Highly recommended venue for small functions.

Visited after the rebrand and had a mixed visit. The full English was lovely and as a coeliac I was well catered for with the server checking with the kitchen regarding my questions. Ingredients of high quality. Found the pricing quite steep - £1 extra for soya milk, making a flat white £4.90, £16 for a breakfast, which made me decide not to get a sweet treat as a takeaway. Service was slow, we had to visit the counter to ask if we could place our order.

IMO Nando’s is the only “fast food” chain that delivers consistently good quality food at reasonable prices. The staff at Nando’s Wokingham were particularly welcoming and efficient. And their allergen menu excellent to enable gluten free eating at minimal risk.

Leonor was absolutely AMAZING, she was so friendly and smiley and nothing was too much trouble for our family of 4! I am gluten free and the staff were very knowledgeable about what dishes contained gluten and wheat. And the food was delicious served hot with so much flavour and exactly as described in the menu - highly recommend the sticky pig pizza Our family had a great meal! Thank you :)

Nice cafe. I was attracted here for a small number of allergy free items available. There’s usually a gluten free egg and cress roll, premade salad boxes, fruit, vegetable sticks packs and crisps that I can eat here. It can get busy here though at peak times. Nice staff, professional. Good location near town centre, the gym, the cinema, Goggling squid restaurant and plenty of parking nearby.

We came here as a family of four for breakfast and unfortunately was very disappointed. The service was very slow and the lady serving us was quite vague. My coffee glass and the saucer it was served on was dirty and when I requested the gluten free muffin with my eggs Benedict it was served with a burger bun 😕. We also weren’t even asked how our meal was, she just came over and took payment, not great!

What a disappointment firstly we booked a table when we were shown to it it was a tight squeeze that you could not pull your chair out to sit as it was in the room with a party. They moved us to a different table eventually. We ordered our food 2 hunters type chicken and a gluten free chicken burger. When it was put in front of us the gluten free chicken burger was a patched up stale bread roll with hardly any chicken on it and we had roasted baby potatoes that were not roasted if they were they had been put into the microwave to heat up, that was it no garnish no salad or anything else on the plate. My partner cut into it and it was cold and sent it back and said don’t bother with anything else. Our hunters type chicken was hot but instead of how we have had it there on many occasions it was a chicken thigh looking like it had broken up and the bbq sauce was so sickly sweet that I couldn’t eat it but the other person in the party ate hers even though it was awful because they were hungry. WHAT has happened to this pub we have recommended so many people because it was always lovely it looks like they are cutting corners and charging more. Unfortunately this has put us off and will no longer be visiting it again. What a shame to have gone downhill like that.

Myself and 20 colleagues went to the Stables for afternoon tea to celebrate two milestone birthdays. The staff were fantastic, they dealt with all our queries quickly and professionally, even when we had to order an extra afternoon tea. They moved chairs for us and were very friendly. I'm sure having such a large group was a challenge but you couldn't tell. The food was fantastic, the sandwiches could have been slightly bigger. The scones were warm and delicious and the brownie melted in your mouth. There was a lot of choice. They catered for vegetarian and Gluten free dietary requirements. Everyone said what a lovely time they'd had. Thank you very much for making it a lovely afternoon.

I've only been there for the tapas but will try mains soon. The food is authentic Spanish and absolutely lovely tasting. The staff are very friendly and helpful, I had my little one and they were so accommodating. The also have Gluten Free labelled clearly on the menu 01/02/25 - UPDATE FOR GROUP BOOKING A big group of us went for my husband's birthday (21 in total) we had set menu and some had a la carte. I created a spreadsheet for the restaurant to outline dietary requirements (gluten and dairy free) and how many adults/children etc, to which they were extremely accommodating. The service and food was absolutely brilliant and no issues. However, the only thing I would say is the portion sizes of the pork belly and paella were small. There was only one thin rasher of the pork belly for each person and it would've been nice to have at least two. Also there were only two paellas, I think three would've been perfect. It just fell a bit short of food for everyone to be full.

I was very impressed with the service I received! I'm coeliac so was concerned about ordering through Deliveroo. The manager went above and beyond for me, even offering me changes that weren't possible through the app. She was kind and patient and the food was spot on. Its actually rare you get service like this, especially from a chain restaurant. Its the people that make a business.

Landlady Lili has introduced a new line of pies - loads of different options, and gluten-free versions are coming soon, I'm told. I've tried the steak and mushroom in a peppercorn sauce pie, and can thoroughly recommend. The pastry-to-filling ratio was just right for me, the pastry was nicely cooked and just the right thickness, the steak was tender and fatless, and the peppercorn sauce was subtle but noticeably peppercorn. It came with a jug of gravy which the pie itself didn't need, but which was perfect on the included vegetables and mash (or chips). The only problem was choosing which pie to have in the first place! Thank you BST! P.S. I've had to edit an earlier review (below) because it seems Google doesn't allow two separate reviews for the same place, even if written a year apart! Wonderfully chilled Friday lunchtime garden experience... great goats cheese pizza washed down with lovely draught Blue Moon. Thank you :)

Got takeaway from here and it was great! Speedy from ordering to collection. Allergen list available to make it easy to work out who can eat what with various dietary requirements. Loads of gluten free and dairy free options! The tamarind curry is insaaaaane.

Good food and service. But what makes it exceptional for me is their awareness of food allergies. Gluten in particular. Everything on the menu, except for poppadoms, samosas and naans is gluten free and made without cross contamination.

This is probably my favourite chinese takeaway, always very friendly and helpful. Meets dietary requirements such as gluten-free. Food tastes great and is always high quality. It feels like such a welcoming place, e.g. We once went there wanting fish and chips, but it said "no fish and chips, fryer is broken." We went in and said,"we were going to order fish and chips, but we see the fryer broke." She thought for a second and said, "No, you're regular, we make especially for you." This really made my day, and as a bonus, every time it's someone's birthday and we go, they give us fortune cookies for free!

A lot to be said about Characters, good tasting coffee is what you need and they’ve got. Note has some Gluten free and allergy options here at Characters cafe Wokingham. So added to my radar for the gluten free trail. Also jacket potato variations on the menu - favourite. Friendly staff willing to help and serve. Looks like a family run independent cafe with everyone working to make this a decent place to take a break, refuel and a respite from the cold, wet, rain or wind. I’ve always approve of supporting the independents.
