The restaurant was very busy and it took a while to be seated. Our food came out in a timely manner though. They offer several gluten free options which is great. I had an eggplant parmesan sandwich. Everything was great but most of the eggplant was tough. Otherwise the sandwich was delicious.

JJ's has amazing pizza, including a gluten-free crust option that's actually great. My husband and I love the hot honey pepperoni pizza. It sounds so weird, but it's so yummy.

I can’t express how much I appreciate and love hungry hippie. I am celiac and I struggle to find food that is safe. I also eat mostly vegetarian and although I love to cook, it takes a lot of thought, time, and care. Having hungry hippie has allowed me to feel like I have support in this difficult diet requirement. The food has given me peace as well as been amazing. There is variety each week, I’m always full, I’m always satisfied, and I’m always amazed on how wonderful everything tastes. Even if you are not vegan and/or gluten free I highly suggest trying some food! 🫶

I am so jealous that the locals of Alpena get to enjoy this amazing place on a regular basis! Hands down the best place. Food was tip top! Dairy free Carmel latte that was devine. Super great service from entire team. This is good enough to be a destination place. Especially with attention to detail for diary free and gluten free. Love this place!!!

The waitress was amazing! I don't remember her name but she was the best. She went out of her way to look through the allergen menu to see what was gluten free for me to eat! Wow talk about sweet, that was so nice and being from OKLAHOMA and not Michigan, being hungry as hell and having 2 hungry kids under 10 with me, and not knowing what I could even get! Scored big points with me! The food the waitress suggested was absolutely delicious and I couldn't be happier! Who knew that potato pancakes were so dang good when you stuffed them with bacon and sausage and ham, topped and stuffed with cheese too! My oldest had the classic big boy which was a hit with him and my youngest had the kid's chicken tenders which was a ton of food and he loved it. Loved the service! Cannot be happier!!

We come up to Alpena to visit family, and it's hard eating out when your husband has a gluten allergy. The gluten free pizza is so good, and its done super speedy! As for the non-gluten-free pizza: oh my goodness. So yummy!

Go for the beer, stay for the food. There's something for everyone and I've never had a bad meal. My wife especially enjoys the gluten reduced beers.

Galley Sweet Shop is a real gem with delicious Cops and Donuts and real sweet owner too. Great service and delivers A charming little down town experience. BUT REAL NEWS IS SHE OFFERS BLISS BAKERY DONUTS-NO SUGAR-NO DAIRY-NO GLUTEN AND FREAKING DELICIOUS. TELL YOUR GLUTEN FREE FRIENDS!

Excellent. We ate the Smoked Pork over Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Teriyaki Pork and Vegetables. Quince Polish wine. Server brought me some pickled garlic and it was so good with the Pork. Excellent service. Very clean. Gluten Free safe foods.

Excellent!! This food has so much flavor! The Chef came out to assist with ordering a fully gluten free meal to go. As I sit here while hubby is enjoying a GREAT dinner without the worry of a reaction.... I am just so thankful and really happy.
