It’s very difficult to find restaurants with gluten-free items. It’s much appreciative that they have gluten-free waffles and pancakes on the food was good.
Cute Bakery with Gluten-free and Vegan desserts. The cookie sandwiches and donuts are to die for! I haven't had ones this good since going GF two years ago. 10/10 for this adorable bakery!!!
Said food was gluten free as my wife has Celiac disease but when we left she got sick and we almost had to take her to the hospital. The food was ok but not amazing...I will not be returning. Service was great though.
If you're expecting a large assortment of the ubiquitous bakery offerings, this place is not for you. The selection, while fairly small, is flawlessly executed. I bought apple cake, gluten free cookies, gluten free scones and other goodies on the advice of staff-- all in all, seven different things. I didn't need the staff's encouragement. Every single thing looked, and was, superb -- right down to the latte. The apple cake jas me in a choke hold: not sweet, moist, tinged with vanilla and cinnamon and utterly ridiculous in its simplicity. I went back for a second, then third. Having grown up in Europe, these are the kind of sweet treats I miss most: not laden with sugar but with vanilla, cinnamon, almonds, walnuts. I live 50 minutes away and will happily drive back to get my fix. The staff is knowledgeable, pleasant, friendly. And the baker is too tier!
I have never reviewed an establishment while actually consuming their products but its THAT DELISH! The Be Protected cold pressed juice made fresh every day was absolutely thrist quenching. Smashed avocado toast on gluten free bread is by far the BEST guacamole I have tasted since living in Sonoma County! The vegan ricotta with thinly sliced asian pear and honey drizzle on gluten free bread was balanced in flavor and presentation. Let's all support "be well" because it will definitely make you feel well after consuming their products! Oh, they only take credit cards!
12/09/22: Just devoured the housemade hummus, sliced avocado, cherry tomatoes, microgreen sprouts on gluten free bread. So well balanced in flavor and the presentation was top notch! Wow! So very good
So the trick to enjoying Paisano's in winter is to go at a very early time for late lunch or early dinner, to avoid the noise level when it's full. On the other hand, when our table of 5 is the only one in a room, the absence of atmosphere in any of the newer rooms is glaring. I chose a pear and feta ravioli which was lighter than most dishes ordered, with a complex sauce just this side of too sweet. Only one type of gluten-free pasta was available, disappointing. If Paisano's once had charm, it traded it for larger capacity and noise at a level that prevents conversation. Think I'll return only to have lunch on the patio in summer.
Really delicious sauce on the pies. Good gluten free crust as well, good flavor and not too thin. Only thing I’d like is maybe more toppings on the pizza .. but beyond that very good and our go to.
Quaint little spot. Great staff very friendly. The breakfast sandwich is amazing it’s my go to. They offer gluten free pancakes. Coffee was very good. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area. It is street parking so keep an eye out for an open spot.

I have passed this place hundreds of times. Today I walked in and found my new favorite place for coffee! They have alternative milks and gluten-free banana bread. Awesome tasting decaf! Run to this place! Can't wait to go back
Gluten free coconut/chocolate macaroons are to die for. The chocolate chip cookies are so addicting and the pour over coffee is just great. Do yourself a favor and make this spot your go to.

Mambo is EXCELLENT!! It's definitely worth a visit to Rutherford if you're in the area. The atmosphere is lively and music that will transport you straight to the Caribbean.
One of the standout dishes at Mambo is their empanadas. The beef, chicken, or phily cheese-steak are definitely a must-try!
My FAVORITE is their avocado salad. It's a refreshing and healthy option that features ripe avocado slices, mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and a zesty dressing. It's the perfect balance of flavors and textures, and it's a great way to start your meal. There are also plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options available, so everyone can find something to enjoy.
The service at Mambo is always friendly and attentive, and the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. Overall, if you're looking for a fun and delicious dining experience in Rutherford, you can't go wrong with Mambo!
My brother and I hosted a surprise 40th anniversary party for our parents at Cafe Matisse on a Sunday evening. We could not have been happier with the success of the evening, so I thought it necessary to send a glowing review anywhere I could.
After many blog searches and Top Restaurant list searches, and a Zagat cross-reference, this place was what we agreed upon. I cannot express in words how happy we were with our choice, but I'll try...
Location: It wasn't a crowded, expensive trip with overpriced parking in NYC; it wasn't an overpriced renting out of an entire restaurant in Morristown or Montclair. It was just right in every way and fit our party of 22 perfectly. We sat in the garden area out in the back, and did not remember that we were in Rutherford. It was quiet and beautiful and private - serene and lovely.
Food/Menu: The menu we had to choose from was tough for our prixe-fixe party. Everything looked so delicious. The chef was flexible with our gluten free needs and sesame allergy needs. ALL of our family and friends were groaning at the fantastic food for all three courses and we applauded Chef Peter when he came out to see if everything was alright. Our family and friends are tough customers (most are foodies), and they were all thoroughly impressed and satisfied with both the portion sizes and the ecclectic flavors. Again, perfection.
Service: Larry, the manager, is absolutely wonderful and gracious. He is helpful and kind, has a wonderfully funny personality, and was an absolute joy. The waiters and waitresses could not have been more attentive and friendly. They were knowledgeable about the menu down to the littlest detail and would bring us anything we needed. Just magnificent and truly impressive.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is throwing a small party, having a romantic date night, or just wants an awesome meal. Thank you, thank you, thank you so very much to Larry, Chef Peter, and all of the staff at Cafe Matisse. We love you guys and cannot wait to return!!
