The staff are excellent and the bottle choices are great, lots of options. I appreciate that they have lots of gluten free choices for snacks and drinks. However, I feel like some of the deli/sandwich options are overpriced and not consistent in quality. I paid over $14 for a pimento grilled cheese that had barely any cheese whatsoever on it and two extremely soggy and tasteless tomato slices in it that weren't even cooked, and my colleague once got a sandwich with bread that appeared to have some mold on it. I would love to see the hot food options have better quality in the future, as this location is extremely convenient to my office and I would patronize it more.

DYNAMITE!! Everything we had was absolutely delicious, unique and full of so many flavors. I can confidently say this was easily the best meal I’ve ever had in Charlotte. I am gluten free, and initially found the menu to not be gluten free friendly BUT our server and the kitchen were SO accommodating to make sure I had options. I can’t decide what was my favorite part of the meal because it was all amazing, however the wagyu beef was out of this world, the dessert was incredible as well. My husband and I do not drink so we greatly appreciated all the non alcoholic drink options too! We had reservations and were sat as soon as we walked in, the hostess was very friendly and our server was super attentive, kind and knowledgeable of the menu. We can’t wait to go back!

I ordered for YFYT two nights in a row while I was moving out of my apartment last weekend. It was absolutely wonderful! I have a gluten allergy and the dessert was labeled to ensure me it was gluten free on the first night. The second night there must have been a mix up and I received what appeared to be a non-gluten free dessert. I texted to inquire if it was in fact not gluten free, completely unbothered if it wasn’t, just didn’t want to get sick. They refunded my entire order! I didn’t even ask or want a refund….because the food is so amazing even without dessert (I was able to give the dessert to a loved one). That being said, I would come back time and time again, not only for the phenomenal food but also for the next level customer service.

My only regret is that I didn't try this place sooner. It took me over a year of living in the neighborhood to check out Open Kitchen. In my defense, I don't eat gluten; it's an old school Italian restaurant, so I just assumed that they wouldn't have any options for me. I was wrong - not only do they offer gluten free items, but they actually have the best GF pasta and pizza that I've had in Charlotte. The food is so satisfying and comforting - my husband loves it, too, and he's not gluten free, so the normal food is also delicious! The service is outstanding (the most genuinely kind and caring servers, seriously) , and the atmosphere is homey and welcoming. It has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in town.

Had Pizza for lunch last Sunday. Absolutely delicious pizza! Although our friend struggled finding a non-gluten option on the menu, they created a tasty salad for her!
