I went to The Bottle of Milk on Saturday 2nd March (at 2 p.m.) with my partner and I rarely take the time to leave reviews when service was bad as I used to work in hospitality, too.
I am coeliac and I do understand that cross contamination is the standard in all cafes and restaurants but some do take more measures to prevent cross contamination.
When I asked about their gluten free buns, the girl at the cash register was very impatient and just wanted to take the order and did not care about what I had to say. At this stage the lunch rush was already over and only one person was lining up behind me to order. After asking 2 questions about safe choices for me, an old guy with grey collar length hair at the coffee machine rolled his eyes and said "ugh" which was incredibly rude. This attitude is shocking and very uninviting and it does not matter whether he was the owner of the place or not.
I ended up only ordering for my partner which we straight away cancelled and left the place. Would not recommend as a burger with chips cost 40 dollars which I would be happy to pay if good service was provided.
We ended up going to Lorne Central where we were greeted friendly and all coeliac safe options were patiently explained and I was fine after it.
This venue offers a warm, classic atmosphere reminiscent of a coastal Italian summer, with stunning sea views and tasteful decor. The space is inviting and accommodating, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a gluten-free friendly dining experience with attentive, friendly service.

Had a glorious long weekend lunch here, staff all very well informed on coeliac/cross contamination and most options can be made coeliac friendly. The Totti’s bread is famous and the GF is fabulous.

Fantastic meal at Ipsos. Milly and Dominic were amazing, best service we’ve experienced in Lorne and very helpful catering to gluten free needs. The food was outstanding and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Can make gluten free fish (grilled) buy chips are fried in same oil as fish. They provide rice or salad as other gluten free sides. The fried fish was very good and large portions.
Perched on the beach with stunning ocean views, this sea-front spot offers a relaxing, beachside atmosphere enhanced by authentic Greek music. While the setting is inviting, those with gluten intolerance should note concerns about menu accuracy and staff attentiveness to gluten-free needs.

The staff here are phenomenal! Very helpful in guiding me to the gf options (not marked on menu). I ordered a chocolate milkshake and a halloumi and roast pumpkin toastie. As soon as I said I was celiac they took it very seriously and put a note on my order to take extra care. It was absolutely delicious, with a fantastic panini from a local dedicated gf bakery. Fast and friendly service with a nice view.
