We often go to pizza express but this was the first time in the harpenden branch. Decor was lovely. Service was really bad from one of the staff members who was just very rude to us and acted very snobby. Food itself was okay, ordered a margarita, gluten free mushroom pizza and polenta chips. The gluten free pizza had all the cheese put into the middle of it which was not ideal. The polenta chips were not cooked properly either. Unfortunately we won’t be visiting this branch again although it is our local one! Hopefully they will treat other customers better. @mga.eats

One of the best safe options in Harpenden. The food is delicious, particularly the Rosti. I would love to see some more gluten free options in both the cafe and the deli and potentially more awareness about cross contamination but that doesn’t detract from the overall experience. I would say the staff members are all lovely but service could improve slightly in terms of attentiveness to customers and creating a relaxed environment but I think this partially caused by them being very busy so it’s understandable. Great option if you’re in the area

Such an inviting atmosphere and delicious food. The gluten free pizza was incredible, unsurprisingly given the quality of the pizza oven they have. I would love to see some gluten free pasta options and to be honest was slightly disappointed that the gf pizza base was an additional £4, whilst I can understand they can be more expensive I’m coeliac and I feel it’s a shame to be penalised for something that is not you’re choice but maybe that’s me being picky. The restaurant is a bit limited in space but it creates an intimate and authentic experience. Already a great restaurant but if they modified elements to make its more suited to gluten free they could tap into a new market

Great tasting food with excellent Gluten Free bread/pasta alternatives. We chose 5 sharing dishes which was ample and delicious but as they tend to serve cold plates first then the warm dishes, we ended up with 2 carb dishes which was not ideal. However, an absolutely outstanding dining experience".
Passionfruit martinis were to die for and the Alvarinho wine was well priced and complimented our food.
