We were really impressed with the options for Gluten Free it was bigger than most restaurants offer will defo bring my mum here (who is celiac). The tapas I ate was all really yummy and good value for money and good children's portions too.
There was a good selection of gluten-free dishes. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the dishes. The food was delicious and well presented. The staff were friendly and polite. Lovely restaurant with a good atmosphere.
IMO Nando’s is the only “fast food” chain that delivers consistently good quality food at reasonable prices. The staff at Nando’s Wokingham were particularly welcoming and efficient. And their allergen menu excellent to enable gluten free eating at minimal risk.
Fantastic freshly cooked food. Locally sourced. Excellent service.
Loads of choices for celiacs. ( gluten free) including GF beer.
Fantastic lunch today. I recommend booking to avoid disappointment. You don't want to miss this place. Love it!!
We were served by Ronnie
She was very attentive to us and especially our friend who has recently been diagnosed as celiac. Ronnie went through the menu with our friend and worked out with her, and the chef, what was possible.
The food that all three of us had was delicious and well presented......we WILL be back!! Also will pass on the information to others.
Thanks also to the chef.
There was a good lunchtime menu with plenty of choice. We three all had something different and were all suitably impressed.
Went to the stables for afternoon tea last weekend. We had three guests with food intolerances and they could not have done more to help cater for them. My daughter is dairy free and gluten-free and has other intolerances and they literally bent over backwards to tailor make an afternoon tea just for her. Two others were gluten-free and dairy free and it was the best afternoon tea they had ever had!! Cannot thank them enough for making the whole afternoon so special. We were not rushed, we felt really listened to and cared for. Our waitress was Ashli and she was amazing. We all had such a lovely afternoon.
Great for gluten free options, as well as other dietary restrictions. We eat here fairly regularly and the food is always delicious and the service great
I've only been there for the tapas but will try mains soon. The food is authentic Spanish and absolutely lovely tasting. The staff are very friendly and helpful, I had my little one and they were so accommodating. The also have Gluten Free labelled clearly on the menu
01/02/25 - UPDATE FOR GROUP BOOKING
A big group of us went for my husband's birthday (21 in total) we had set menu and some had a la carte. I created a spreadsheet for the restaurant to outline dietary requirements (gluten and dairy free) and how many adults/children etc, to which they were extremely accommodating. The service and food was absolutely brilliant and no issues. However, the only thing I would say is the portion sizes of the pork belly and paella were small. There was only one thin rasher of the pork belly for each person and it would've been nice to have at least two. Also there were only two paellas, I think three would've been perfect. It just fell a bit short of food for everyone to be full.
Absolutely shocked with the service tonight. Me and my partner usually go to the Lexicon but decided after coming back from the airport that we would pop into our local pizza express (1 minute walk) to end our holiday.
On arrival, we weren’t greeted by the hostess/manager instead, we were shouted at across the restaurant to follow her. Basically had no interaction or pleasantries but we decided that we would ignore that and hope it can only get better.
When our server came over, the greeting wasn’t warming at all and was quite abrupt, ordered our drinks and a jug of tap water (which we never received) we ordered and specifically asked for starters to come out with mains (repeated twice) and also specified my allergy which I wanted to apply to both starters (so they both became gluten free). The waitress did not seem interested in us at all and that didn’t make us feel great but again we moved on. To be fair, it looked like she was the only one working -
So maybe she was quite busy but at the end of the day the manager should’ve been helping/supporting her.
Our starters finally came out and was incorrect, so one was sent back to be remade (to be gluten free). No apology, instead tried to argue that I said something else and didn’t ask for this to be gluten free.
We finished one starter and then the remake came over to which my partner asked the lady how long our pizzas were going to be, as we asked for everything to come out together. She just looked and said she will check and then a couple of minutes later came back and said will be two minutes. Again no apology.
About 10 minutes later, our pizzas arrived, our waitress who dropped them at our table seemed like she couldn’t get away quick enough. Again no service, no asking would we like anything else? My partner wanted chilli oil and tried to look for the lady but ended up giving up because she didn’t return. Instead he went to get a bottle from the side as we clearly realised we weren’t going to be served.
Then a member of staff started shouting at him. Then our waitress said to him, that she was going to come over and ask if we want anything else. But was a bit late by then.
He felt so embarrassed and quite furious, that he was shouted at by a member of staff because he grabbed some chilli oil, due to lack of service. He returned to the table and expressed that he wanted to leave.
So I got up to find the waitress and get 2 takeaway boxes and told her we were going to leave (paying the bill online). She came over and only then started to apologise for shouting at my partner and for all the other things but I made her aware that we appreciate she seems like the only one working but this just wasn’t acceptable and the service was extremely poor. She got the bill and apologised again, but no sign of manager or anyone acting as manager - which I think is pretty awful. The waitress added a discount for our poor experience which I did appreciate but at the end of the day i didn’t complain for this to be the outcome. My complaint was made because I have never been out to dinner with my partner and him being made so upset and furious by the treatment that we have wanted to leave. The fact that no manager came over is not great and we tried to look for her on the way out and was nowhere to be seen. Just extremely shocked with tonight’s experience, no check ins with our food, no apologies for mistakes/issues along the way and no manager to come and address the issue when my partner was shouted at.
Landlady Lili has introduced a new line of pies - loads of different options, and gluten-free versions are coming soon, I'm told. I've tried the steak and mushroom in a peppercorn sauce pie, and can thoroughly recommend. The pastry-to-filling ratio was just right for me, the pastry was nicely cooked and just the right thickness, the steak was tender and fatless, and the peppercorn sauce was subtle but noticeably peppercorn. It came with a jug of gravy which the pie itself didn't need, but which was perfect on the included vegetables and mash (or chips). The only problem was choosing which pie to have in the first place! Thank you BST!
P.S. I've had to edit an earlier review (below) because it seems Google doesn't allow two separate reviews for the same place, even if written a year apart!
Wonderfully chilled Friday lunchtime garden experience... great goats cheese pizza washed down with lovely draught Blue Moon. Thank you :)
Got takeaway from here and it was great! Speedy from ordering to collection.
Allergen list available to make it easy to work out who can eat what with various dietary requirements.
Loads of gluten free and dairy free options!
The tamarind curry is insaaaaane.
Good food and service. But what makes it exceptional for me is their awareness of food allergies. Gluten in particular. Everything on the menu, except for poppadoms, samosas and naans is gluten free and made without cross contamination.
My husband and I thought the food was delicious and they catered brilliantly for me being gluten free. Would highly recommend and have already booked to go again!
