Very clear gluten free options on the menu! Service was excellent - they made me a custom non-alcoholic beverage and offered to take it back if it didn't taste good. Lovely atmosphere. Potato pancakes are amazing.
Looking for delicious vegan food in Alameda? This spot has it. Potato curry roll, tofu spring roll, garlic noodles and tofu stir fry vermicelli was so good! Seasoned perfectly and portions are just right. Very satisfying. Lots of gluten free options as well.
Always a good time. Love that they have two gluten free crust options and ricotta... And whole garlic. Delicious. Big parking lot too. Open 7 days a week.
I recommend going online to see their ordering options because you get to see all the sauces and types in a list which the wall menu doesn't really offer.
Catch some sun with a cozy outdoor vibe while enjoying a diverse menu that caters to various dietary preferences—perfect for brunch with friends!

I love this restaurant! I eat here regularly and I'm never disappointed. The service is amazing. Staff are so sweet and attentive, and they always accept changes to dishes for allergies or taste preferences. My dad is celiac and can eat practically everything on the menu here--huge range of gluten free options. I'm vegan and there are also so many delicious dishes I can eat, including their vegan al pastor street tacos (which are to die for) and huevos rancheros. They always accommodate my no dairy preference, even when I order online for takeout. Canasta Kitchen also has outdoor seating, which is so nice when the sun is out. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Our go to for pizza here on Bay Farm. Hand tossed crust is the way to go! I've recently developed a gluten allergy and their gluten free crust is a life saver.
Many good choices on menu, reasonable prices friendly staff, good location. I needed gluten free pasta and they had that option. It was the best gluten free I've had.
Really enjoyed the sizzling bibimbap. Had it with gluten free pork belly. It was delicious! The menu was clearly labeled what was GF and what wasn't. Awesome!
Well today it was 4 or 5 stars, usually it's 3 stars but wow those scallops today wowowowow The scallops were savory. Usually it's been mediocre and expensive but today it was delicious but just a bit expensive. I would prefer more ginger given. A tad limited when ordering if you're gluten-free, although I'm told they have gluten free soy sauce. If you are gluten free, don't eat the salad. (And if you mention you're gluten free, they'll give you the salad without the dressing.) Fast and friendly service though. My lunch order was $13 for the menu option titled "
"Scallops."

This vibrant Lao eatery has become a favorite spot for my family and me, offering bold flavors that resonate with our Filipino palates. The liberal use of fish sauce in their dishes creates a delightful umami-rich experience.
Standout dishes:
1. Pad See Ew Beef: Perfectly balanced savory notes complement the soft, wide rice noodles. It's not overly sweet, allowing the flavors to shine.
2. Crispy Eggrolls: Served with fresh veggies and herbs for wrapping, these crunchy rolls are elevated by the accompanying dipping sauce.
Pros:
- Quick, attentive service
- Accommodating of dietary restrictions (gluten-free options available)
- Authentic Lao cuisine
Cons:
- The space gets quite noisy when busy
- Parking can be challenging
The restaurant tends to be packed during dinner hours, which contributes to a somewhat loud atmosphere. The high ceilings, while visually appealing, do amplify the noise.
One unexpected touch is the single TV in the dining area, which adds a casual element to the ambiance. During our last visit, it was showing the Olympics.
Overall, this place offers a solid dining experience with excellent Lao cuisine. If you can manage the occasionally hectic atmosphere and potential parking issues, you'll be rewarded with flavorful dishes and efficient service. It's a worthy destination for those seeking authentic Lao flavors in a lively setting.
An inviting spot that gets packed quickly, known for great breakfast and satisfying sandwiches, so plan ahead to beat the crowd!

Delicious veggie omelette with gluten-free toast, others ordered French onion soup, salad, avocado toast and lattes. Good quality, matches the price. Expect a long wait

When I first stumbled up Scolari's they were known for serving the best strombolis. These days those strombolis are a special item that I always have to get when available, or get them at Marley G's across the street. While the menu changed, they still serve really good good. The burgers are delicious and can be a bit tall. The chicken sandwich is something to also order. But, the fries is something that I always get. Just don't forget to ask for aoli versus ketchup. They alsoserve a particular local brand of delicious soda that I've only had in a handful of places. The Alameda Soda company is made with real sugar and is gluten free, made in small batches.
I was very impressed with the flavors and quality of all the dishes I have had. Also, getting gluten-free options is easy. Toomie’s is my FAVE Thai place!
Fresh ingredients and low prices create a welcoming vibe that everyone can enjoy here.

This place is excellent!
Ingredients are always fresh and abundant, the cooks and cashier are warm and helpful, and the prices are very low for what you get.
Great for folks who need a gluten free diet, and of course for anyone who can enjoy wheat flour too.
ADDICTING Burmese food! So good you can’t stop thinking about it!
Incredible vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. The tea leaf salad is incredible as well as the rainbow salad!
Good drinks and atmosphere. Sometimes a longer wait on the weekends but well worth the wait.
Lastly - you must try the coconut rice!
Now go get yourself some Burma!

Some tasty, almost wholesome dishes, as restaurant menus go. Low carb, low calorie, and gluten-free options. Even though it looked different served than the picture shown, the Blackened Cajun salmon with broccoli and smashed garlicky potatoes worked for me. Attentive wait staff and a new way to pay with a small digital terminal installed near the middle of the table.
They have a variety Gluten Free options which is awesome. Curry bowl with tofu add zucchini add beans add side of corn tortillas with their spicy green salsa. Never disappointed and always excellent customer service.
I am a regular at East End because I think they provide the best overall atmosphere, food and value in Alameda. The menu is small but everything on it is excellent and well thought out. There are dishes good for children and good for grown-ups. What are plenty of meat dishes on the menu, a vegetarian can also assemble a very nice meal that doesn't stint on variety or flavor. For people who don't want to be around kids there's a wonderful long bar that's great for eating drinking and, if you like, conversation. Their cocktail program is simply one of the finest in San Francisco, They also have a well curated selection of wine, beers and ales and nonalcoholic drinks. The space is light and airy and relatively quiet. The service is attentive and professional. My only wish is that they had a gluten-free crust for their wonderful pizza.
great views, great food. gluten free pasta tastes great, the caprese is classic, and although my bf would've liked more raviolis than 4, the taste made up for it! can't wait to come back next time we're in Alameda!
This spot is perfect for enjoying breakfast or lunch outdoors in the sun, making it a favorite for laid-back meals in Alameda.

I've always loved Jim's on Lincoln and a number of years ago when they opened Jim's On the Course it became my go-to place for a good breakfast or lunch and sitting outside enjoying the sunshine and warm weather in Alameda!
My recent visit did not disappoint: I had the waffle combo that includes your choice of either bacon, link sausage, or sausage patties; I had the latter and a big cup of coffee. Delicious as always!
I'm dining partner is gluten free and ordered breakfast with gluten-free bread that she said was the best she'd had and she wondered what kind it was... We'll have to find out!
Highly recommend Jim's at either location!
The fish tacos are amazing! They are light and crispy. We also shared some plantains and yucca fries for the center. My wife is vegan and gluten free and had great tofu tacos.
Highly recommended!!
As a Colombian living in the Bay Area I thought I had found the glory. I thought I was going to go and expect real Colombian bakery, but that wasn’t the case. First, the atmosphere wasn’t all that and I believe it had to do with the service, they were not that friendly.
Second, the food was not that great. The pan de bono, which I was going for was disgusting. Luckily, I had ordered other things, but were just OK. I mean, for each their own, but this place is fake Colombian food. Even if they are trying be in the“gluten-free” wave, they should also have options of authentic Colombian things, that way people get a real taste of Colombian goodness.
