The experience starts with a small crowded entrance space where you are supposed to wait until someone comes to seat you. Once finally seated, you'll wait for your simple order (crepes) for 40 minutes. Neither espresso nor hot chocolate are good, crepes are dry and tasteless. We only came here because they offer gluten free crepes and it was a big disappointment and a waste of time.
Charming spot with a cozy vibe and great ambiance, perfect for families or a romantic stroll afterwards!

I’m not someone who normally reviews, but our experience was so wonderful I had to do it! My 3yo daughter and I enjoyed a delicious lunch here and our server, Pascal, went above and beyond to make our experience so special. He was so kind and accommodating and made it his mission to put a smile on my daughter’s face! And a gluten-free menu was so nice too! I cannot express enough what a great experience we had together here and I highly recommend dining here! Especially with kids!!! Food was great and space is very charming too!
Enjoy a unique spot known for its diverse lunch options and a standout poutine breakfast that leaves a lasting impression.

Professional service, very pleasant and fast. Quality food, gluten-free bread in particular. The drinks are of above average quality in my opinion. I highly recommend.
A cozy spot with easy online reservations and creative dishes that leave guests raving about their tasty experiences.

My husband and I easily made a reservation online. I ordered a drink and we shared a pasta dish. The drink and the food were delicious. We eat gluten free and the buns they served were very good. Our waitress was wonderful!
Expect a delightful atmosphere with attentive service and a stellar bar program, plus a chance to practice your French while enjoying top-notch dishes.

This place was amazing! Our server was so attentive and lovely and they were able to make modifications to dishes I had so that they were gluten free and dairy free for me. It was very nice of her to speak French with us so that we could practice. The cod was fantastic; perfectly cooked and some of the best cod I’ve ever had. Bar programme is also top notch. Mocktails were perfect, especially enjoyed the Mocky Ruby. Thanks to all the staff for making our dinner here extra special.
Expect an impressive blend of flavors with standout dishes and a great range of options to customize your meal experience.

The meal was excellent. I had the vegetable soup, foie gras crème brûlée and the flank steak. Truly a superb blend of flavors. My partner is celiac and the server offered him several choices and the possibility of replacing certain foods without problem. He had the vegetable soup, foie gras crème brûlée and the filet mignon. He loved the fries that came with the filet mignon. Superb service.
Cool fusion vibes blend traditional Japanese and inventive French dishes, with high-quality flavors and an adventurous tapas-style menu.

4.5 stars.
This restaurant came highly recommended to us. So we went there as a couple.
Despite the name, the restaurant has two styles of menu: one containing more "traditional" Japanese dishes from an Izakaya and a (on the blackboard) type "French-Japanese fusion" menu. (so be careful with products with lactose)
Overall, we were very satisfied with the experience.
The quality of the food is high, the dishes (including the dumplings) are made on site, the taste is refined.
The service is also second to none (I missed the name of the server). Very courteous. The servers know their menu.
Our favorites: Chicken Karaage (gluten-free by the way), venison dumplings.
There were no “disappointing” dishes, but some stood out less than expected. The fried duck dumpling was wrapped in egg-roll style dough. Crab cakes are closer to arancini than to a crab cake (much more rice than crab).
The menu is presented in the form of small “tapas” dishes. It's very interesting to taste everything, but the recommendation of 2-3 dishes per person is insufficient in my opinion. It's minimum 3 in my opinion.
With 2 drinks of alcohol, we selected 9 dishes (including 2 side dishes) at a total cost of $131 before taxes.
We are happy to have discovered it and we will probably come back more often for the chicken Karaage to take away which we particularly appreciated.
A friend and I came across Galopin just by chance in November 2016. The restaurant was so unassuming, staff unobtrusive and subtle, yet so efficient and friendly. The meals we'd chosen blew us away. It was the best dinner experience for both of us in years.
Since then, I'd often recommended Galopin to friends who planned to travel to Quebec City.
This time I visited Quebec City with my spouse, it was a birthday weekend! The planned highlight: Dinner at the Galopin. I was looking forward to it with such expectation.
My wife is 100% non-alcoholic and is gluten free. We couldn't find gluten-free option that did not include alcohol. Wait staff didn't really seem to be motivated. We felt rushed, as if accommodating these needs would be asking too much.
So, her choices were very limited. Finally she settled on steak, which was ok - if on the cold side. We'd rate it at a 8/10. But this was the steak only.
I'd rate my own dinner at a 5/10. The starter (Sweetbreads) was a 6.5, the interim salad a joke [really a 'minus one'] as the lettunce leaves were dried out and flavourless, there was not enough dressing and ,in addition, our server did not even bother to ask if anything else was needed. My main dish was blood sausage with with scallops. The scallops were fine, but the additional items on the plate were rather flavorless (5 /10). The dessert was too dry and the apple flavor in the 6 little spots on the plate was recognisable, but just neglectable in dimension (3/ 10).
The Rose Vine (Portuguese) was fine and presented at the right temperature. A good choice. My coffee was excellent.
Given my high anticipation, it was a disastrous evening. I was so disappointed.
