I actually don't even want to review this place because then everyone will know our secret. If you are looking to vacation in Wimberly, this is the place to be. It is in walking distance to the Square with all of the shopping and restaurants down a secluded country path. The rooms are well appointed with great attention to interior design. The breakfast that is included that is brought to your door is to die for and they will accommodate different diets like gluten free. The grounds are beautiful in sort of a natural, rambling, organic way and you have access to the creek. We have stayed here a few times over the years and it is really become our happy place.
sort of love this little cabin based hotel. the location is good - about 2 min drive to the end of Main st. very very well maintained. lots of cute little spots for a sit and chat or read - very pleasant to walk around. lovely spa with recent updates. and a resturant that we hear is great. it’s a good place to just be away from it all and feel like your at your own cabin vs at a hotel. we only had one complaint - breakfast - it really was lacking. one day it was something labeled “gluten free” that was force-fit into a undersized package. the other a chocolate cupcake. ironic as we asked at the front if we could get regular bread or just a plain croissant - their answer was “no changes to breakfast it’s up to the wim of the kitchen” both days it came with a little cup of fruit and what i think was pudding. we ended up driving into town to get something both days finally be forewarned. cabins 3-6 face the street and the neighborhood across. it sort of gave it the “weekend cabin” feel but sitting on the porch in the morning drinking coffee while the neighbor is washing the car might not be for all - it was fine (see photo of view)
so would i return? - yes!! but bring your own breakfast and stay up front so you can walk out into the thoughtfully maintained grounds
on the weekends you can eat in the resturant. we eat on our final day. - beautiful and DELIcIOUs!
The Elm Creek Manor was our first farm to table B&B experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The pictures don't do justice to the beauty of the grounds, where there are several places to walk and sit under large shade trees with rolling hills and a stream running through it. Brad and Marcia have thought through every aspect of your stay and made us feel so welcome the entire time. We stayed at the Tuscan villa cottage and it was very clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated, with all conveniences we would need. Each breakfast and Saturday dinner prepared by Marcia were AMAZING. She also went out of her way to cater to my gluten free diet. Brad let us follow him milking the goats, feeding the chickens, and showed the gardens. Who needs to drive 4 hours to the Hill Country when you can have a gem like this an hour away!

We are so lucky that we found Inn on the River. Pam was so accommodating and even cooked a gluten free breakfast for my daughter, who has celiac. It was so peaceful and well run. Pam and staff were a joy to visit and work with.

I made reservations for this place on open table not realizing it’s inside the Ritz Carlton. You do have to put a card on file. I went during the week and it was a packed night. My only complaint is I wish we could’ve gotten a table more inward, instead we were seated next to the window and could feel the draft from the 20 degree temps outside. They start you off with bread then offer you a small sample from the chef and at the end you get another complimentary bite size treat. The food was good. They were able to accommodate my gluten free needs with two choices of pasta. I want to go back just to take pictures.
A spacious spot features a cozy canvas-covered area, serving up tasty gelato while accommodating different dietary needs creatively.

We had a large group and there was a nice area with canvas walls in the middle of the restaurant. I'm gluten free and specifically asked about a bun. I was told they had a GF bun available so I ordered a burger but it came on lettuce instead. They brought me gelato/ice cream instead of the pecan pie bars others received since I'm gluten free. The lemon gelato & chocolate chunk ice cream were delicious but the other flavor was not good.
The staff went above and beyond to meet our dietary needs and special orders. They were so kind and receptive and helped at every turn. The food was amazing and everything was cooked perfectly! We had the Brussels sprouts (must try), the Texas Meats and Cheese Board (delicious), Cauliflower crust Pizza (gluten free woo hoo!), Brisket Pot Roast (scrumptious), Fried Shrimp and fries (best fries ever had), Brisket Burger (mouth watering), Creme Brûlée (perfect ending) and Pecan Pie (delectable)! They definitely impressed these Houstonians with their fine dining in a casual setting!
Mrs. Ethridge is wonderful. My husband is a Celiac and she created wonderful Gluten Free breakfast every morning. We enjoy the cabins and peacesfulness of the surrounds. We will be going back soon.

This evening even was memorable and the food accommodated in plant based and gluten free options. Hotel room was clean and didn't smell like a chemical bath
