Travelled down the north island with a coeliac this evening and found this place on the Coeliac New Zealand FB page. I phoned and we were told they have a separate area. Ordered and got two packages- one for the gluten folks and another for the coeliac. both were absolutely delicious and this place was super busy. it's a good hour from where we live but we'll be coming back up here for dinner. LOVE that this place is safe for coeliacs.

I always go to duck island at least once a week and never thought to leave a review. Out of all my times here, today was the best one! Thanks to Cordell. Such a genuine person who actually recommended stuff I’ve never had before. The gluten free cone yall?!! Actually phenomenal (I’m not allergic to gluten). Thank you heaaaps Cordell.

Amazing place for breakfast! Delicious food and coffee, awesome service. You can buy there very nice local products, real fruit ice cream (also vegan), salads and pastry to take away. Many gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options

Always an absolute party to visit for my coeliac daughter. The staff are very well trained on how to handle a request for coeliac ice cream. They make fantastic gluten free cones, and will specifically go out the back to grab a brand new tub of ice cream with a new scoop. My coeliac daughter turned 7 today and we took her tonight like we do sometimes. I’m so happy that she can feel completely like every other person here with a huge range of flavours available. Her favourite is ambrosia. The staff is always friendly too. If anyone is looking for a great gluten free dessert look no further!

Wow! As someone celiac I barely am able to have ice cream out but I was able to here! These guys were so accomodating - the server said “of course” they were able to take my scoops from the back to ensure there was no cross contamination. So nice to have knowledgeable and kind staff, really made my day. The staff were also quick, despite probably having a hectic day today with the heat. The place was heaving at 9:30 pm. Delicious ice cream too. Easily 5 stars.

Mothers day lunch was delicious! The Cafe was busy but we didn't feel cramped! Very Spacious! A full cabinet of pies and treats. I chose the sugar waffle off the menu. I was not disappointed! Will visit again. Gluten free steak sandwich was brilliant! Kids cheese burger was huge, and tasty!! Happy family members all round. We've since lunched there several times! Delicious food every time!

10/10 service to the beautiful girls that served me last weekend at Lunas gelateria. If you’re looking for the perfect treat after dinner definitely head down to Lunas! They have the best variety of Gelato and Sorbets if your looking for something that is dairy free 😍 Also big thank you to the manger that pulled out a whole new tub of Sea Salt Caramel for my daughter who is coeliac 🩷 Will definitely be back!! Very delicious ice cream. You get to taste test two ice creams and I went with the coconut. It’s all very tasteful so it might be hard to choose. The cones are delicious with chocolate too! A wide variety of assorted chocolate and some good looking popsicles. Nothing is gluten free though…

I could see why people would drive all the way just to have some real fruit gelato. The ambience was lovely with places to sit under large beautiful trees & scrubs while the background music was already a vibe in itself. All while the gelato is amazingly yummy & gluten free.

Lovely feel. Picnic tables to sit around. A bank of ice cream freezers. With more to come says the owner. Ice cream includes gluten free and plant based. Choices of: in a punnet or cone - regular or waffle. We happily sat eating our cones at one of the tables.

OPEN FOR EASTER!! Fantastic, and they're open on Good Friday and Easter weekend, too! Delicious burgers, great chips, delicious gelato, and they went the extra mile to provide gelato in a cup with a clean scoop (scooping from fresh gelato) to be coeliac safe too! *closed on Mondays and Tuesdays*

I had Mr whippy at my wedding last month and it was such a hit with everyone! They even played the iconic music as they arrived! The staff were so lovely and great with everyone! Very affordable and lots of options such as gluten free and vegan! Also a slushy machine which was a fun surprise! We got some pretty cool photos with it too. Thanks so much Mr whippy Napier! I was surprised how busy it was on Monday night after 9pm. Had a Sundae and realized why are they so busy 😄. Really amazing flavors we had a salted caramel and peanut butter cookie dough. Stellar selection of Vegan and Dairy Free/Gluten Free ice creams. The Vanilla Passionfruit, Blood Orange Sorbet.the prices were much better than other, nearby, places. I will definitely be returning in the future!
