I would give 50 Stars if I could for the most amazing experience we had with Udipi Place.
Mr Hubert D’Mello, the owner is an incredible human being and I was floored by his service, attitude and food. His restaurant has been in Toronto over 20 years and the food and service has always been impeccable. Living downtown I often frequented.
For my daughters wedding reception on the 17th of September 2022 we catered, a Live Dosa Station and other dishes from this humble yet iconic authentic South Indian restaurant.
From planing the menu, to the food tasting and pleasing all our food preferences & demands, Mr Hubert showed immense patience and understanding, even prepared a few dishes which were not on his menu to accommodate our Vegan dietary requirements.
Our venue required fire insurance and a small 10 pound propane tank, which Mr Hubert easily accommodated, without charging us any extra. ( he went and bought a new propane tank just for my event, amazing service👏🏻)
The day of the event went flawlessly with the arrival of Mr Hubert’s team who set up the the live Dosa grill and food.
We had 8 varieties of Dosas 😍 all vegan and gluten and nut free.
Samosas and Dal Vada ( specifically made at my daughters request) as starters. The tangy and spicy Rasam soup along with Bisibele Bhath.
For dessert their Chef specially made Moong Dal payasam which was sinfully delicious and yes Vegan 🙌🏻
We had a melange of guests from all corners of the world, each of whom found the food incredibly delicious. More so, nothing was left over from the buffet.
The food was perfect for all age groups as the dosas were made in the spot individually on requests of each guests. People landed up having more than a couple of dosas each, which shows how good the food was.
I had catered for 55 people but we had 60 turn up and yet the generous portions brought by Hubert and his incredible team sufficed.
I’m so grateful to have catered from Udipi Place as it left my guests satiated and happy.
Honestly when one hosts a big event, seldom people don’t give too much importance to the food( my observation attending many events ) for me I believe food is the way to peoples heart and when it’s served with so much love and care it’s outshines everything.
We all were blown away by the service beyond expectations by Hubert and Udipi Place.
Thank you so much for making our Big Day so memorable.
Savor a cozy vibe with inviting decor and an array of delicious dishes showcasing fresh flavors and generous portions for a delightful dining experience.

This place is a lifesaver for gluten-free options! I had the cauliflower with rice, and it was both delicious and safe for my dietary restrictions. It’s so nice to have a place where the staff is knowledgeable about allergens.

Nice and restaurant upstairs. All the tables had nice clean white linen tablecloths simply set. A very quaint atmosphere. The food was fresh hot and delicious. Lots of choices we ate from the buffet. We are gluten free and 97 percent of the buffet was gluten free. They were very knowledgeable about cross contamination ie same fryers. Totally recommend and can't wait to go back!!

The food was excellent. The Indian ghotala was hands down the best dish along with the spices home fries. We also tried the gluten free south Indian breakfast and the masala avocado toastie which were equally good. The staff was very cordial, courteous and warm. The time between placing the order and getting the food on the table was perfect. Special shout-out to Ishwar and Soney for serving us and being so cordial and warm. Had an amazing experience. Must visit 😀
Modern vibes and unique presentations make this spot ideal for a date or night out, despite some service hiccups.

First Impression: Not your traditional Indian restaurant. The design is modern and pleasing to the eye.
Favourite: The lamb Baryani. The meat was tender and flavours were great. The presentation was interesting. The rice and meat are covered in a blanket of bread and the staff comes to cut it open for you.
Critiques: The service wasn’t the best. Our server seemed overwhelmed. He even dropped cutlery which he then picked up to bring back to our table. My husband had to ask him for new cutlery since he dropped it.
Bonus: The dishes are presented in unique ways and they have a beautiful patio that’s perfect for a summer night out.
Take Away: This is a good place for a date night or girls night out. Despite the service not being up to par with the food and design.

Great lunch buffet; tasty, high quality, and good value. My partner is gluten intolerant and they confirmed that the curries, tandoori chicken and rice were all gluten friendly. Special call out to the made to order naans (so good) and thanks for not pre-making and dumping them under a heat lamp!

The food is exceptional! They have such a reliable staff, and the catering couldn’t have gone better. Shaan helped me and answered all my questions.
The food was fresh, and very tasty. We got the paneer-mushroom-spinach, chicken 65, chaat, butter chicken, daal makhani. They were very accommodating with our gluten free request. Thank you to the amazing staff and the owners.
We will definitely have to sample the other things from their menu.

We had an amazing experience at Adrak Yorkville for an annual client get-together. The service was fantastic — super attentive and friendly — and the team went out of their way to make the night special. They created a tasting menu for our table of 8, and even tailored dishes to accommodate a few guests with food preferences and restrictions (gluten free, dairy free, etc.) while still being flawless with the execution.
Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. You could really tell how much care went into the food and service.
Our clients were extremely impressed and everyone can’t wait to return. Highly recommend.
Great food but not safe if you have a gluten intolerance or are celiac (even the GF items) tons of cross contamination, clearly visible if you look at the kitchen..
It’s unfortunate as the food was awesome but I had a reaction after eating there...
Authentic northern Indian vibes with vibrant flavors, a range of spice levels, and a lively atmosphere make for a fantastic experience.

We were extremely happy with our experience at Tadka. The service was very friendly. They really strive to create authentic cuisine from northern India. And great butter chicken! I was thrilled with all the gluten free and dairy free options. A choice of mild to strong spice was offered - when they say spicy they mean it. All in all we were thrilled with the flavours, presentation and great atmosphere.
Exceptional flavors shine here, with standout dishes like paneer tikka masala and veggie biryani served by attentive hosts.

Went here to have a late night meal and the experience was exceptional. The service was good and they took the time to answer our questions about the food. My wife has celiac disease and has to be very careful of how the food was prepared. The food was very delicious to the very last bite. The restaurant was bright, clean and relaxing. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great Indian food in Toronto.
I had an amazing gluten free dosa! huge, crispy, delicious! I will definitely be back. msybe even for dinner! thank you for a pleasant and deliciously spiced meal!

Truly my favourite Indian joint. Always a hit with friends and the service is unbeatable.
Incredibly generous and very affordable. Their menu offers gluten free and lactose free alternatives as well as a great vegetarian selection.
Amazing breakfast!!! Staff very knowledgeable about gluten allergy. Hot tip : you can sub one of the breads out for another egg in the Tibetan breakfast (which is only $8.99 and SO GOOD)
So impressed with this restaurant. The owners went above and beyond to accommodate a meal for my Mom who has celiac disease and is on a strict gluten-free diet. They even made her gluten free roti! Our favorite dishes were the aloo tikki burger, pav bhaji and the channa. Excellent restaurant and service. We will definitely be ordering from here again!
There are lots of gluten free curries and rice options here for those who want to taste Tamil cuisine! Loved the mutton curry, steamed rice and eggplant curry! Nisansala was a great server!
The most flavourful Indian food I’ve ever had. I’m vegan and gluten free and I was blown away by all the options. I’ll be back and I’ll be bringing my friends.
Eating here twice, once dine in, once takeout. Overall, food is delicious, a tad on the greasy side. I am a gluten, free vegan. Great service and friendly staff.
Hands-down my favourite Indian restaurant in Toronto. Have been coming here for about 25 years and happy to see it continue to be run by family - who are so great, attentive to customers and make delicious food... channa masala, lamb rogan josh, soft and crispy naan - and when my family go, they order extra butter chicken so they have some to take home! Also, they are very attentive to celiac customers and most dishes on the menu are gluten free.
Banjara is two restaurants: the main one has classical North Indian cuisine, the one on the east side has Dosa. Since one of us developed celiac disease, we find the gluten-free Dosas delicious and safe. The North Indian food is very good too. When the virus is over, be aware that it gets crowded at peak hours!
With a nice vibe and spicy dishes that pack a punch, this spot boasts attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere.

Very nice location. I had the dillawala butter chicken which was tasty and more spicy than other butter chicken dishes. The staff was attentive, timely, and eager to answer any questions. They are also knowledgeable about gluten allergies and will make sure your dish is gluten free.
