The best Italian resturant in Canberra!! I have been here many times, and each time the food is AMAZING!! Their gluten free options are plentiful, and they take great care in no cross contamination and also offer celiac friendly and vegan options!! The pizza and pasta is phenomenal, and the service is kind and fast and taken with great care!! 10/10, love this place

Small menu compared to other places but the food is excellent, staff are welcoming and attentive, good selection of wines. Gluten free options available including a very light and fluffy focaccia, house made pasta. Bookings recommended.

Mama's trattoria is fantastic. The decor and food remind me of when we were in Italy and the prices are so much more reasonable than other Italian restaurants. The staff are so friendly and warm and the coffee is also great. I generally go for the gluten free pasta. Both eat in and takeaway work well.

Really friendly, relaxed place. Great outdoor area. We had a little dog and a gluten- and dairy-free diner. Staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Pizza was delicious, as was the pear salad. Would recommend and will be back to explore their menu!

Did me a great gluten free version of one of their pizzas. Crust was quite dry but I appreciate that can't always be helped with gf alternatives. Toppings were excellent, I enjoyed it.

So disappointing! Moreso as we had eaten here over a month ago and the food was fabulous. We had met the owner who was very affable and helpful. This time, however, the food was appalling. My linguine vongole had way too much pepper, overpowering the delicate clams and burning my mouth. It was really unpleasant to eat. My partner had a gluten-free pizza which was a soggy mess. It looked like wet cardboard and tasted even worse. In fact, it was the worst gf base he has ever had - even domino's is better. We ate the food as we were so hungry, but really regretted it. I can't understand how (apparently) the same chef produced such wildly different meals. Unfortunately this experience was so bad, we won't be back

As a gluten intolerant person, the staff were very accommodating and allowed me to make choices on what I wanted to eat. It was the best gf pasta meal I've had in Canberra! La Cantina catered well for gluten free and other food allergies, and wait-staff were kind and helpful. Delicious food, and beautiful decor - reminiscent of provincial Italian architecture. Highly recommended. Thank you La Cantina.

Enjoyed a relaxing lunch with the wife, friendly service with excellent food. Highly recommend the roast pumpkin and potatos. Potato where perfectly cooked and seasoned, went well with my roast pumpkin ravioli with burnt butter sauce. Use of fresh herbs really brings out the flavour in the meals. Moscato was sweet but not to sweet, dessert options are limited but good. Reasonable selection for gluten free dietary requirements also.
