My fiancé and I’s favorite spot in Willi! He loves the lemon pizza - a must try! I am plain and always get cheese with extra mozz w/ a light bake - so so good! Everything is amazing & the service is wonderful - Sage is the sweetest! If you prefer a less busy/more quiet area, request a table in the back! Also have gluten sensitive options available :)
I didn’t even want to give this place one star! First of all, we decided to try Iliano’s because we heard good things and we had a gift certificate. Well they did not honor our gift certificate because they said it was only good at the Colchester illiano’s (which is not exactly close by). We are gluten free and we are always on a quest to find good GF pizza. We were so disappointed with our pizza! The crust was crunchy (we liked that) but it was very dry (we could not see any sauce on our cheese pizza) and it was extremely salty! Worse pizza I’ve had in a long time. If you are GF don’t bother wasting your money! Illiano’s you need to do better for the GF population!
Amazing food and great service my wife and son love coming here...and the pizza is so PERFECT it has that real dough taste and perfect flavor...and they do gluten-free dough, the grinders are delicious and artisan like.

The food at Gallo's is by far the best I've had in the area. They took extra care with our vegetarian quesadillas, creating an off-menu special with mushrooms, onions, and peppers, all freshly cooked and packed into fresh and tender corn tortillas. They will make anything in a veggie version and also do gluten-free. Portions are huge, too. The storefront restaurant is modest but has a warm feeling. Gallo's has the feel of a community favorite and the food is made with love. Can't recommend this gem enough!
Tasty flavors but expect a long wait for your meal, and cocktails might be on the sweeter side.

Food was definitely tasty, wait staff was friendly but it took far too long to get our food; we didn’t intend to spend an hour and a half on lunch. In addition the spicy sandwich my son ordered was not spicy and for my preference the cocktails were too sweet, although the flavors were balanced otherwise. One plus was that they were very clear about their ability to cater to those with gluten issues since they are a brewery and have grain dust that can permeate the building.
After spending a beautiful day with family on the Essex train & steamboat, wandering around Gillett Castle grounds; we were very ready for a good meal and a nice place to sit and visit. Moodus BBQ was the perfect choice. Tantalizing smells greeted us along with easy seating in a cozy, family friendly dining room.
The menu had a great selection of all things BBQ - pulled pork & chicken, ribs, wings and sausages. There was a good selection of appetizers & side dishes, including cornbread which isn't typically offered in this area. Our family has several different diet restrictions and all of us - even gluten free, found something they liked.
The service was accommodating quickly bringing crayons etc for the kids and an additional pitchure of water when we all ordered water. It was nice to see other large families there enjoying themselves too. We lingered visiting but did not feel rushed. As we were leaving the owner came outside with us and thanked us for "stopping by". If only I didn't live in Illinois, I would certainly be "stopping by" again soon. I hope local folks know how blessed they are with Moodus BBQ!

Decided to try Twiins Pizza & Restaurant today 1/4/ 25 for the first time, based on the many positive reviews. Service was a bit slow as the restaurant was busy however, the wait was well worth it. I ordered a large chicken and broccoli pizza and my wife ordered a gluten free pizza along with a side of sweet potato fires. The food was absolutely amazing! The pizza dough was extremely fresh and quite thick. After three slices I was completely full. I think Tony’s Pizza will have some competition. Was worth the drive from Norwich. We will definitely be back. Ten (10) stars for sure.
Delicious food, good portions. Clean environment and quick service. Have come back several times and recommended to friends! No issues and I eat gluten free!
