I would say gluten friendly, not gluten free. I have celiac disease and we have eaten here twice. First experience was good! Today’s visit was unfortunate.
I spoke to the staff about my food allergy, they seemed confident, and my food came out with the little allergen stick which made me feel extremely comfortable. Within minutes of eating (my delicious food) I was sick and in their bathroom for 44 minutes until I was good enough to make it home and be ill at home. I spoke to a staff member on my way out so they were aware and they were extremely kind about the situation.
If you choose to be gluten free or have no food allergies, great place and delicious food! Otherwise, be aware they are not able to accommodate allergies fully. Unfortunately, my family will not be back due to me getting glutened and being ill.
This local gem offers super quick takeout with a fun vibe, great flavors, and a unique journey from humble beginnings to a community favorite.

When I stopped eating meat at 12, Wizard burger is the kind of place I dreamed of. Super cool vibes. Delicious food. Kind, passionate, wonderful people.
It's been so awesome watching these folks grow from vegan tacos served twice a week in a tiny Troy shop to becoming an Albany staple.
I sadly can't really eat here at this point because gluten cross contamination but that's not on these dudes. My mom still eats here. She calls it the ultimate treat on hard days and her vegan coworker always begs her for leftover fries.
These dudes make veganism cool. Keep it up!

Lucky find for my first lunch ever in Albany! They have various delicious empanada doughs: wheat, corn, plantain, and yucca based. Some are gluten free. They also have vegetarian and vegan options. I am an omnivore but really liked both the cheese filled plantain crust and the vegan lentil and mushroom option. If I lived here, I would be a regular! Staff was great friendly and efficient, and prices were very reasonable.
Everything tasted freshly made, but the plantain empanadas were particularly crispy and delicious.
I don’t know NY liquor laws, but I believe that they have a near and wine license.
Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere and exciting flavors at this returning gem, perfect for a lively dining experience.

We arrived in Albany on a Sunday to find that restaurants in town were generally closed, however we discovered The City Beer Hall and fell in love with it immediately. In fact we had such a wonderful meal we returned on the following evening as well.
The menu was perfect and catered for my wife who was gluten intolerant with a number of offerings on the menu. Our choice of drinks was well catered for as well.
We loved the burgers and the peach salad we shared was perfect. We can highly recommend this wonderful that is housed in the historic old telephone company building. It was such a friendly space to dine.
Most importantly for us when we are going out is the service and care of the wait staff. We were absolutely blessed by having the gorgeous Katrina, look after us on both nights we visited for dinner. In fact it was her warmth and hospitality that made our return so easy.
Katrina explained the options available and too, extra care to make sure my wife’s gluten allergy was understood in the kitchen.
We loved both our visits and would return in a heart beat should we ever revisit Albany.

I finally had the chance to eat here and I have to say, the chicken taco’s were amazing. I ordered Chicken Taco’s and my dad got the Vegan Taco’s. The chicken tacos were $10 for 3 tacos that is amazing value considering there is a whole lot of chicken! The vegan taco was alright. It was also $10. The vegan “meat” they use is called seitan. It wasn’t as good as the chicken but it was eatable. Beware that it is very high in gluten as Seitan is made entirely out of gluten. That being said, it also has a lot of protein (75 grams of protein for 100 grams serving). The guy working the counter was pretty nice too.
