Cute little restaurant that is inside a hotel. It is located on a quaint little road and across from a public library so you feel like you are in a Hallmark Movie. We chose this place because it came up in a search for Gluten Free food that was close to Lake Placid. The Butternut squash soup was delicious, I was pleased they had Gluten Free bread to dip in it and the salad was so yummy with the housemade dressing and figs and pears! Very filling. My boyfriend got the burger and said it was really delicious. I liked how they even branded the bun with their logo. Only thing was that it was cold in there so I took off one star for that on atmosphere (I think the AC was on and it was a cooler fall day) so bring a jacket. I did hear other patrons commenting on how cold it was in there and our coffee got cool quickly too. We liked how the coffee mugs were the true adirondack vibe too. The waiter was friendly and very prompt. A good stop and we will be back soon!

The boathouse at Saranac Lake was a great experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting we have the grilled salmon which was absolutely delicious. They have indoor and outdoor seating, The outdoor seating sits directly on the lake. We sat outdoors at the picnic table and watch the sunset what was a great ending to our day of hiking. Turn on you had the gluten-free and vegan options so there are many options for dietary restrictions. The staff were friendly and was very helpful answering any questions you have about the food and the things we can maybe substitute out.

Gluten free pizza is offered and they were willing to make it dairy free as well. The healthy option was also gluten free and could be adapted to dairy free.

I'm so glad we finally went to Barley Sandwich! The menu is as unique as it it delicious and all sandwiches can be made gluten free! With the fun, casual vibe and such amazing food we will be back often!! food

Exceeded expectations. Everything down to the bread was great (per my family). I have a minor GF allergy and they flagged things that I wouldn’t have known would have gluten (like the au jus). Great food and huge portions. Service was attentive and friendly. Would def recommend.

We were spending a couple of days in Saranac Lake. We decided to come to La Bella’s for dinner. We were seated right away, and our waiter was very polite and attentive. The homemade bread and dipping sauce was a welcome surprise and tasted excellent. Our Italian dishes were very good. The red sauce was excellent, as well as was the mixed green salads which came before our meals. One of the members of our party has a gluten allergy, and it was great to know that they had gluten free pasta available. All through dinner, the waiter continually checked on us and met all of our needs quickly. The dinner portions were large and were bursting with authentic Italian flavors. We would have loved to try the variety of desserts available but were just too full. I would highly recommend this restaurant as opposed to driving to Lake Placid. The prior night we went to Placid for dinner and did not get seated until 9:00 pm. La Bella’s has a nice quiet atmosphere with Adirondack decor, and you are guaranteed to be seated quickly. We will definitely stop here again

Second time here and this place is amazing. We ordered the vegetarian platter and the loaded tostones (without meat) and both were fantastic with great portion sizes. Plenty of dishes are vegetarian and also accommodating to gluten free diets (like the loaded tostones). If you value your taste buds please go here instead of the other overpriced restaurants in the area. This is not Mexican food, it’s something even better than that.
