Best place to eat on the mountain. Everything is a la carte and prepared fresh. Authentic cuisine, recipes passed down from a man who immigrated to NY from Italy to his son. If you are vegan or gluten free you can let the staff know and the head chef, Joe, will accomodate your needs. Food is delicous. Eggplant sliced the perfect thickness. The restaurant has a really cozy romantic atmosphere, and the bartender, Bev, knows how to make you laugh. On top of all of these wonderful attributes, this establishment also donates food to people in community in the form of prepared meals regularly. Make a point of coming here.
Also, the restaurant is also named after the Hobbit and features little Hobbit/ Lord of the Rings Easter eggs in various locations.

A great place for the whole family!! And Gluten Free and vegetarian options. We have been long time customers at the original zicatellas in Saugerties. And the new location definitely delivers! The food was fresh and flavorful and affordable. We love the Oxacan influence by the owner/chef. I highly recommend the Oxacan mole. Co-owner Carmen is always welcoming and works hard to create a comfortable friendly environment. Stop by next time you are in Windham!
In the area for one night and stopped by for dinner. I have to eat gluten free and I was pleased that the waitress was both very knowledgeable and willing to accommodate my needs with what they have available. There were plenty of options. The food was decent, and the portions rather large. Not very expensive but the only take cash.
Classic Italian American vibes with comforting home-style dishes and generous portions make for a satisfying dining experience.

We had a great Thursday evening dinner at Prominence. The menu is classic Italian American cuisine with few surprises, but a couple of home style dishes that you don’t always see at the “red sauce” places are a nice touch. I enjoyed the house salad that came to the table dressed in a simple vinaigrette, much better than a cup of thick dressing on the side. The entrees were well prepared and generous, and the pricing is on par with a nice dinner at any decent restaurant, especially for the portion size. I had gluten free pasta with my chicken entree and it was great.
We had a great meal at Chicken Run and decided to ask about having a wedding rehearsal dinner there. They could not have been more accommodating! We chose the room that suited us best, we were able to select the menu we liked (in addition to allowing for some gluten-free guests!) and they even printed special menus with the names of the bride and groom on them. Our guests loved the food, the bar service was wonderful, and I could not have been happier with our experience there. Thanks to Cathy (the hostess) and the wonderful folks at Chicken Run!
The staff was amazing from the moment we arrived. Rooms were very clean and cute. As soon as you drive in you feel like you are in a Christmas hallmark movie. Breakfast was by far the best place I’ve ever had. The chef can accommodate food allergies. I am celiac and everything was made celiac friendly (pancakes and waffles too - which is a big deal for us gluten free people). Would recommend everyone staying here if you are coming to the area.
