When traveling with someone with celiac, you always have a fear in the back of your head that they might have an attack after they eat. Don’t need to worry about that here. Food was amazing my sister and I kept nodding our heads in enjoyment as we ate. If I find myself in Portland again will be sure to stop.
Experience a place where attention to detail in food prep shines, ensuring a safe and enjoyable dining experience with a delicious menu.

It was a nice restaurant with good atmosphere. The staff themselves were the standout - they treated us really well and with kind attitudes. I went because I had heard they had lots of Gluten Free options, but would have liked to see more options than there were.

I have been enjoying Harlow's food for 10 years, being celiac I've always loved knowing I could count on their food for a safe and enjoyable meal. Unfortunately in the last handful of months the service and food has gone downhill so significantly. We've given feedback to the manager and continued going back because we love supporting our local restaurants but after tonights meal it's just beyond frustrating. You can't count on the food being the same each time you order anymore, sometimes the veggies are almost raw, sometimes they're cooked. Sometimes the food has flavor, other times it's so bland. This evening we both ordered the soup and it was so salty neither my partner or I could eat it. The staff gives the feeling of complete apathy one way or another. I know the service industry is getting slammed right now but it's such a bummer that they've gone down hill so significantly.
Had a lovely dinner here with my girlfriend! The food was great and our server, Joe, was incredibly kind and welcoming. I also have celiac disease and he took excellent care to make sure my food was gluten free. Cannot recommend this spot enough!

Delicious food, cozy atmosphere.
Candace is a gem; she's bright and personable. She was attentive, set our expectations, and helped explain the menu to us.
Highly recommend for a gluten free sushi trip.

This is a cute Thai restaurant with a great atmosphere. The staff are friendly and fun, the staff seem to know everyone by name that come in and the ppl from the neighborhood just stop in to say hi as they are taking their evening walks 😁. The food is so good, and they serve a gluten-free menu, which I appreciate 😋 🙏🏻

Food was good. Nothing fancy but well done.
But the service. Firstly we ordered a gluten free pizza (+$7) but was bought a regular crust. Very dangerous. And not a hint of apology but instead "I didn't take your order".
The entire crew seemed to be very self- untitled

I've been supplementing my diet with Kure ever since I went gluten-free. I love their shakes; my body craves them! Hoping one day Kure gets a location in Beaverton because Moberi and Nekter don't cut it for me.
Enjoy a lively atmosphere and quick seating, perfect for a festive outing with scrumptious dishes and decadent desserts.

They were able to get us a table in 15 minutes. The service was so friendly and helpful, especially on a busy Christmas weekend. Our food was amazing. My Croque Monsier (ham, gruyere, dijoninaise, grilled parmesan-crusted broche bread) was scrumptious. Our daughter, who is gluten-free, went with the Salmom Apple Salad (pan seared king salmon, mixed greens, gala apples, honey roasted pecans, fontina cheese, pomegranate, pumpkin seads, and apple maple vinegrette dressing) She said it was the best Salad she has ever had! My husband had the BBQ Brisket Sandwich (braised and smoked beef brisket, chipotle, clowslaw, grand central brioche bum, with fries) he ate the whole thing! It was delicious.
We shouldn't have, but we did have dessert. They shared the Cre'meux for two (flourless chocolate torte with toasted Italian meringue) and I had the Cherry Bomb ( chocolate cake, liquor soaked cherry center, chocolate glaze) with a cup of their home made Caramel ice cream. These were absolutely sinfully yummy! Definitely make a stop here. We will for sure!
I don’t think it’s fair that you guys charge an extra $4 for gluten free pasta and then give me a smaller portion size than the regular noodles. This happens every single time I’ve eaten at grassa. It’s a bummer because I love your flavors but $20 for a kids size is diabolical work in this economy. I don’t mind paying more for gf but I at least deserve a reasonable/full portion for that extra $4

Great food, fast, friendly service, and family friendly. However it was loud and hard to have a real conversation. Also, their gluten-free options leave much to be desired. I would have liked a GF waffle.
A go-to spot for quick, tasty eats with a solid selection that impresses even when accommodating big orders.

Mark was SO nice accommodating a large semi-last-minute order. This location is always friendly, fast, and delicious. Great selection of both pizzas and salads, and they have a gluten-free option, which is nice. Thank you Mark & team!

Accidentally time traveled to this nostalgic drive-in diner today. It was the bee's knees. If you are in the mood for a no frills burger spot, Skyline is it. The diner has an easy going, casual atmosphere.. no muss..no fuss.. You can literally come here in your pajamas and no one will care. I could hardly believe my eyes to find a diner in the middle of the woods that has gluten free options on the menu. It is true. Soft, fluffy legit burger buns too. I got the cheeseburger, potato salad, and indulged in a cherry coke. Everything was perfect.
This place is frozen in time and serves as a reminder of days gone by. There happened to be a few beautiful classic cars parked outside that gave it an extra vintage vibe. There is booth style seating inside and a lovely covered dining area outside. The friendly servers were busy flying around feeding lots of hungry bellies. We got there early so we got a table right away, but the place filled up quickly. There was a line out the door so I have to hand it the entire staff for getting this many people fed.
I was baffled by some of the other negative reviews. It does prove that you should always give a place a try yourself before believing all the digital trash talk. In an effort to have a local spot's back, I have addressed some of those issues below.
You may read other reviews about the prices, but this place is no different than any other place in America. To be fair, prices have gone up everywhere. This local place has not been spared from inflation and cannot operate at a loss folks. If it is too costly for you, no shame. It is okay to eat somewhere better aligned with your budget, but it is not okay to rate them low based on the price of food. Don't get your poodle skirt in a twist... everything is up.
You may have also seen the post about not enough salt... you know what, there is a salt shaker right there on the table. Give that thing a little shaky shake.
As for the "cup not being pleasing" " poor food presentation" & "frowning servers" .. It is just a cup. It is a good food in a basket. Food services employees are proned to burn out. They are human beings that deserve respect. They are not paid enough to put up with abuse, judgement, or entitlement. If you want fancy smancy food and servers with fake smiles, pretending to like you so you tip them, choose a different restaurant. Or better yet, eat at home. If there is an issue, tell the staff to their face and give them a chance to make it right before blasting them on the internet. People can easily come up with a million complaints, but rarely a single solution.
No, the bathrooms nor the building are wheelchair accessible so plan accordingly. The building is old and unfortunately disabled folks were not considered during construction planning for any building in the 1930s. Ableism and lack of mindfulness from back in the day are not today's owner's fault. If the owner updated the building to ADA standards, those complaining about burger price now would pass all the way out. I am disabled but not confined to a mobility aide 24/7 so I do understand the frustration with older buildings. The good news is that there are to-go and delivery options if you are unable to visit.
If you are still reading, seriously give this place a chance. It is worth going off the beaten path to try.

The presentation of this food was visually stimulating for my eyes! The intense colors and delicious flavors and the egg in the middle was my favorite… plus the hand written instructions to “mix 😊” ! This was a perfect afternoon meal for me! The restaurant interior was clean, open and fresh, the music video selection is right on!! Thanks for being in Portland! Also I got gluten free option!

A tastefully decorated spot with clean Everything! 🤤 Fans that keep you cool despite the many bodies in the room. The friendiest most efficient staff! And the fooooooood!! Oh myyyy gooooooooood!!!! The best! And delicious for my vegan and gluten-free friends.
I took one star off atmosphere just because it is so busy it is hard to hear people if they aren't a loud talker. Staff is very good at being loud though.
We order via Uber eats on a semi regular basis, and something is usually wrong. Almost no horseradish sauce on a cheese steak or making both sandwiches gluten free when only 1 should be. Slow down and listen, pay attention. Granted kids these are worthless if they have young workers.

Nice beyond burger place.
You order at the kiosk first , grab a number, and then the food is served to you.
At the kiosk, there are set items and many customizable options to your liking like gluten free bun or lettuce bun. You can note any food allergies on there too.
I got the Cheeseburger and substituted the meat with the Beyond patty to make it vegetarian which added $3 for the substitution. It tasted juicy and flavorful, and also my first Beyond burger too. I opted to add griddled onions and grilled mushrooms and these additions are now a must for me.
My partner enjoyed his All American Cheese burger and noticed the patty is on the salty side like other reviews have mentioned.
The staff here were very welcoming and nice. The food was enjoyable. A lot of the menu is able to be made vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, or to meet other diatary restrictions.
Stylish venue with fantastic ambiance, perfect for romantic nights or gatherings; highly rated for its cozy vibe and attentive service.

Atmosphere was wonderful, and service was somehow better than that. Finding dining experiences with celiac is always difficult, but the staff were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and dedicated to providing a wonderful experience. They have a huge variety of options that were completely gluten free, including appetizers, entres, and even desert! Wonderful dining experience overall, and appropriately priced.

Solid, reliable food that you literally can't go wrong with. Always served with a smile and what I appreciate most, other than the whole ingredients, is the fact that it's truly priced fairly.
For those who are Gluten-Free, we love that Whole Bowl is fully gluten-free!
Bonus? The serve Nate's Oatmeal cookies which are the best (and also GF)! 🙌🏽

I love this cafe and make a point to eat here when I stay in Portland. The dishes are creative and food is delicious. Excellent coffee, too. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options, plus gluten-free bread. They prioritize local food and drinks. I've always had good service. A real gem in this district.

Although the food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was nice for a date night, my celiac partner was contaminated with gluten. She had the GF Kale Salad and the GF Mushroom Risotto, I had the special that day, she did not have any of my dish. When informing the waiter they seemed confident and well informed about gluten. Later that evening at a comedy show, my partner experienced an allergic reaction (they had nothing to eat or drink at the show except water) and will now be ill for the next several weeks. We live 2 blocks from this restaurant and have been in Portland the last 2 years. This has only happened at one other place since moving here from the east coast. I cannot recommend this establishment for celiacs and will not be visiting it again.
Friendly staff, always a smile. Great offerings, and the lunch specials are awesome. These guys make really delicious pizza. Oh, and their gluten-free slices are good as well. You can tell they use finer ingredients for a much more Gourmet style pizza!
This spot is bomb!!!! We ate here 2x on our visit, the drunken noodles & spicy fried rice were both 10/10s. I also enjoyed their pad Thai. They were able to make my meal gluten free both times.

Sat down at 10:15 for brunch and weren’t served until 11. There were only 4 tables of people in the whole restaurant. I asked to substitute potatoes for a waffle since I’m gluten free and they said yes for $8. The chicken and sauces were delicious but the service time was sorely lacking.

This is a great cafe. I had the eggs Benedict with the salmon and avacado. They cooked my eggs exactly the way I asked (jammy, not runny) and the wasabi hollandaise sauce was so delicious. They were able to sub in gluten free bread that actually tasted great. The people working were lovely and it has a very relaxed homey vibe. Will be coming back soon.

Overall great experience! We had a party of 33 and had a VERY difficult time finding a restaurant that could take as many people and willing to accommodate the menu choices available. Every restaurant in town I called set up a food and drink menu and refused to deviate from it even if we knew we would like certain choices or had dietary issues (allergic, gluten, vegetarian etc). This was NOT the case at Irving Street Tapas.
Paresh the restaurant manager went WELL BEYOND the call of duty to accommodate our large group and did a fantastic job getting everything aligned and setup. We were able to set a budget of what we wanted to spend and they recommended food and drinks to fit within that but still allowing us to modify if needed. As long as they are in business we will be making this our go to every year during this time.
Bad gluten free options. Got a gluten free pizza- they charged $4, it was cold and only 4 pieces of pizza and the crust was not impressive at all. Got gluten free pasta- it took an hour and texture was subpar.
Oh my lanta. This place is delicious. I am gluten free by choice and you can have all sorts of items. They don’t have gluten free pasta. But they offer soups the wild mushroom was heaven, and salads and you can get your sauce and meat choice over veggies or sautéed spinach or kale. I read the menu wrong and I thought I was getting butternut squash, but it was butternut squash ravioli, I told the waitress that I was gluten free and she said no problem and had veggies made for me. It was so good. I had the Alfredo with chicken over broccoli cauliflower zucchini and butternut squash. Loved it!! Can’t wait to go back. Definitely a hidden gem 😍
