Similar essence to a chipotle but for Korean food. The food was hot and fresh. The pork belly was incredible.
Gluten free items are clearly labeled on the menu.
You can either order at the counter or at the ordering kiosk.
Will definitely be back to work my way through the menu!

This is our favorite place in Chicago! We have been over and over again and it’s always amazing. We love the cumin lamb and the house stir fry! Also gluten free options!

10/10 one of the best places I’ve eaten! Everyone there was friendly and the food was great, and especially entertaining if you get something spicy that your friends aren’t used to and have them try it. Not only loved their different meals, along with the fact that you could get a majority of them gluten free and vegetarian which is amazing, but all the drinks they had to choose from were great as well. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something quick and good, especially the tteokbokki!

I recently tried the new menu, Kong-guksu (soybean cold noodle), and it was perfect for summer! This dish is not only refreshing but also incredibly satisfying. It’s a gluten-free and vegan option. You can ask to hold the eggs if you prefer a fully vegan. The creamy flavor of the soybean broth combined with the chewy rice noodles makes for a delightful and healthy meal. Highly recommend giving it a try!

This place has some of the best Korean BBQ ever! It was the first Korean dinner place I had ever been to and everything was immaculate from the food to the service! They even accommodated my mom who is gluten free. Our waiter was extremely kind and funny and the rest of the staff was so sweet and encouraging when I tried to speak my limited Korean. I had never tried speaking Korean to actual Koreans before so it was an amazing first experience! The owner even gave me a Korean yogurt drink called Yakool because he was so impressed! This all happened about a year ago so my review is a tad bit late, but it is totally worth mentioning. This place has the best food ever. I only wish they had kimbap! But it makes sense that they don't because it takes a whole bunch of preparation to make. I live about an hour away so I haven't been back in a year but I plan on going tonight!

Revisited in June 2024, haven't been back since the remodel. Minami Sushi in Streamwood offers a serene, clean and casual dining experience with minimal modern design. Their menu boasts a variety of sushi, tempura, and noodle dishes, hot and cold appetizer selections and daily lunch specials. Our experience began with a refreshing house salad featuring iceberg lettuce, carrot shavings, and cherry tomatoes in a delightful citrus ginger dressing.
Our server, Tammy, was thoughtful in guiding us through gluten-free options. I opted for the Tasty Ex and Loco Tako rolls, both safe choices for those with allergies. The Tasty Ex, with its layers of salmon, yellowtail, and spicy tuna, topped with a medley of spicy mayo and wasabi mayo, provided a subtle yet delicious kick. The Loco Tako roll, while visually stunning, requires a thoughtful approach to fully appreciate its flavors, especially the spicy octopus topping. Neither roll was too spicy for me.
My husband enjoyed the Tekka Don, a generous bowl filled with mushrooms, tamago, tuna, seaweed salad, radish, and seasoned rice. The varied textures and flavors made for a satisfying dish, though we both wished for more gluten-free options to enhance our dining experience.
Overall, Minami Sushi offers a talented staff, tranquil ambiance and delectable dishes, but could benefit from expanding their gluten-free offerings to accommodate a wider range of dietary preferences. Since there were few gluten free options, I may come back for the rolls I was able to eat. There are no desserts on the menu, so if I had to suggest one I think a simple ice cream or fruit to cleanse the palate would suffice!
(Previous review: Not a mind blowing experience and just okay. Seems to gather a large lunch crowd. No gluten/dairy free notes on menu. Completely unaware about food allergies! Would not likely come again. I had a couple bites of the dragon roll and was not excited or tasty. It was bland and just okay. The booths had taped up seats and seemed a little unclean).
It's a very small, cute place that exceeded my expectations. Though it is small it had many options for food with Korean food options, as well as other drink options. They do serve gluten free and vegetarian options.
Step into a clean and welcoming vibe with an extensive menu that has something for everyone and incredible service to match!

This restaurant is amazing! Very clean and welcoming environment. When you walk in, you’re greeted by friendly staff and amazing waiters (thank you, Soyoun Choi and our waiter, Devin). They have an extensive menu with options for everyone, including gluten free and vegetarian. Food was absolutely incredible and timely service. We’ll definitely return and would recommend!
Featuring an inviting atmosphere and a diverse menu, this spot is perfect for first-timers to dive into authentic Korean flavors.

Replete with 2 banchan (Korean side dish) of braised potatoes and cubes daikon kimchi, this food was delicious with fresh, quality ingredients. Enjoyed my tofu jigae with a mug of tea. Wonderful place and fair pricing. If you have never had Korean food before, please come here! Get the Bibimbop or japchae or seafood pancake. Just come and delight! If you are gluten sensitive you will need to ask about the soy sauce since most dishes include some soy sauce in them.

Hidden gem on Foster just west of Kimball. Delicious and healthy old world Korean recipes nourish the soul and please the tongue. Many dishes to try outside of the Korean bbq staples.
I love the bone broth soups, as well as the numerous naturally gluten-free & dairy-free recipes.
Pro tip: the sides of kimchi can be a whole other meal or snack when you order to go.
This was such an amazing place. The atmosphere is very welcoming as well as the people. We tried their gluten free sushi rolls. They were so delicious. I can't wait to go back.
