This is a tricky review to write. As others have stated, the food is excellent, the setting is unique and fun, the interior is lovely, and we had a great time out on the patio. They also have excellent gluten-free options. And thank god for all of that, because as my daughter put it, “with us, they really fumbled.”
It was over 20 minutes before we saw our server, and that’s probably because one of us went inside to ask the hostess what was up. It was another 20 before we got our drink, 20 more until we got our charcuterie plate, and yes, another 20 until our entrees arrived. For those who don’t like math, that means we didn’t get our main courses until nearly an hour and a half after we arrived. They also got my wine wrong, bringing port when I ordered a glass of GSM to go with my lamb, and then suggesting maybe the bar had run out of wine glasses, despite the two ounce pour of what was clearly port and not GSM. So that was weird. And then my wine arrived a significant amount of time after my entree, but there was no effort to acknowledge the error in any way.
Here’s the thing: We had fun. I would go there again. But I hope our experience was a fluke, and not something that happens often.
