What a lovely cafe! Warm welcome and lovely staff. Exceptional food - the cheese toastie with soup was delicious and the perfect comfort food after a lovely hike around Grasmere in the rain. Lots of great gluten free options and a wonderful variety of food for all tastes. Owners are lovely people. Well worth a visit, you'll love it! Thank you for a lovely meal Greens Cafe đź’š

Our daughter likes this cafe so much that we did a 100 mile round trip for her birthday lunch today. The crepes are huge and a very wide gluten free range of food. Might not be the cheapest cafe but the quality is worth it in our opinion.

Great place. Lovely food, own brewed products. The ale I had was amazing.
Plus, one of our group is gluten free, never seen her so happy with menu choices.
Expect beautifully presented dishes and a quirky atmosphere, but remember to book ahead as it has limited hours and can be pricey.

Excellent dishes, beautifully presented, good wine, friendly service and a warm quirky ambience.
It is only open about half the week, since the owners no longer work full time. If you want to enjoy this experience, you must book well in advance or be extremely lucky.
The menu includes at least one vegetarian option, and the restaurant is happy to provide gluten free options, on request.
Parking is available a short walk away.
If only it were a bit cheaper!

We booked a table for 20.45 online arrived about twenty to and had a short wait while our table was prepared. The waitress came over and took our drinks order and presented with the menu so while having our drinks we ordered from the menu informing the server that my partner was gluten intolerant.
My partner ordered sea bass and as it says on the menu saute potatoes and I ordered the pork .After waiting half n hour we were asked if we required another drink as our meals were running late we ordered another drink which we received and also received three small triangles of bread and a pot of olive oil as a dip which was laughable as staff had already been told my partner was gluten intolerant.
When the meals finally arrived my partner was confronted with sea bass and what looked liked small boiled in their skin potatoes coated in butter not saute as described .My partner brought it up with the server as my partner is a qualified chef she described how they should be cooked as was told that's how we do it here
The cost just over 90 pounds this is not a go at your bistro it is a review of our experience I think a gesture of our second drinks being complimentary would have been better than 3 small pieces of bread and olive oil it was not our fault the food was late .We do except the venue was full but knowing Grasmere I would expect it's not the first time it's been full
Disappointed
