I emailed them about my allergies and about cross contamination and they emailed back " Hello Paulina,
Unfortunately we have bread in our kitchen so cross contamination can happen…
Sorry for that.
Thank you"

The patio has an amazing atmosphere. Food was amazing and the staff were terrific. The gluten free pizza was delicious - we ordered from them twice when we were vacationing there.

Great food and service!! The owner was super helpful suggesting gluten free options for us. Very helpful! We had corn flour crusted cuttlefish, shrimp done in a garlic, white wine, cilantro sauce and roasted green peppers. We loved everything!

The food and service are superb. They offer gluten free bread with the appetizer course. The staff is knowledgeable about allergens and were able to make gluten free recommendations. They have a gluten free brownie. Everything was tender and the wine pairings were perfect.
This spot stands out for its beautiful decor and accommodating vibe, making it a top choice for food lovers!

We had a fantastic dinner at Pausa in Tavira. We sat outside on the terrace and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The menu had clear indications for gluten-free (GF) and vegetarian (V) options, which was very helpful. We highly recommend trying the seared tuna and the ginger-lime prawns.
Nestled in a cozy square, this spot offers a charming vibe with excellent eats and a lovely outdoor dining experience.

Great rooftop restaurant with some tasty Portuguese tapas and also some live Portuguese acoustic music which was lovely!
We had lots of tapas to share but some of our group opted for mains which they enjoyed too, including some Gluten Free pasta which was great for our friend.
Although it is nearby the busy tourist area of Old Town, this restaurant definitely felt more authentic with good food!

On the plus side, gluten is indicated in the menu, and after the meal, a compliment is brought in the form of small pasteles de nata.
Of the minuses - rather strange service. Before I finished my order, the waiter had already turned to my companion, ignoring me twice.
Delicious tempura shrimp, but absolutely not tasty veal kebab. The meat looks like it was boiled and then browned on the grill. No spices, no salt. Very disappointed.
The atmosphere is great, I recommend booking a table in advance

Excellent. Food, service, atmosphere. We went there on the earlier side, around 7:30pm and were pretty much the first ones there. It was super quiet and relaxing, even the servers kept their voices down. Flawless service, very tasty food. Highly recommend the seared duck liver, or if you are more for the “basics”, the bolognese was a winner as well. We went there mainly because it is one of only a few restaurants in the area that offers gluten free pasta, so they made us a gluten free bolognese for one person in our party. Only item I’d label 3*** was the veal tortelloni because the filling was way too dry. Still, 5*****

Stumbled across this restaurant after almost giving up. Being Celiac can be tough when eating out while travelling. The restaurant accommodated me by preparing a cod lunch, without gluten, which melted in my mouth. The cod was so fresh. My husband and I shared it along with a vegetable salad which was fresh and so satisfying. The service was excellent and a great attractive location, right on the river.
Bustling with atmosphere and unique menu options, this spot offers a lively dining experience with great value in an ideal location.

Our party of 4 visited on a Friday night in the height of summer at 8pm with no reservation. The restaurant was extremely busy, including a large birthday party group, but the staff found us a table and were very welcoming. The menu had something for everyone and was a different offering from most other restaurants on the ilha. I had the black risotto with scallops, which was perfect in every way. Two others in our group had seabass, which was overcooked and dry, unfortunately, and the fourth member of our group (gluten free) had chicken, which came with chips and salad and looked very appealing. We also had bread, olives, carrots, a 2 litre jug of sparkling sangria (red berries), a large beer, and a delicious 'real' lemonade and the bill came to EUR 108. Considering the location, the attentiveness of the staff, the restaurant surroundings, the ease of parking on this very busy ilha and the quality of the food and drink, I felt this was value for money.

Discover a hidden gem where the locals dine; the cod dish stands out, though opinions on the octopus rice vary.

Excellent, when you just enter a restaurant and you find workers having lunch there, you know you've stumbled upon it. What if!
I tasted the cod made in Braga, that is, floured (gluten-free) fried, four vegetables and very fine potatoes.
Delicious, although I find it a little drier than ours, but quite good.
On the other hand, whoever chose the rice with octopus was not so happy
The place is beautiful and the menu is very complete. At first it didn't go very well because we booked a table and they put us in a smoking room without us knowing. Afterwards, they didn't have much idea about allergens, as celiac disease was already causing stress.
But then they were very friendly and helpful. It turned out to be a good experience. The presentation of the sushi is amazing and the quality of the food is good. I recommend.
Not many vegetarian options, ordered the sutaed leek dish, very disappointing... Also, they mark dishes with gluten but the "gluten free" dishes definitely had gluten and led to a really bad reaction.
We had to ask for the same dish multiple time as the waitresses missed the order.
In my opinion the dishes were too expensive for what they offer, but the meat and scallops were good (until it caused the bad reaction afterwards...)
