I'm celiac and came here after reading the rave gluten free reviews. I ordered a gluten free pizza for takeaway. I confirmed when I was paying that the pizza was indeed gluten free - was told yes! I ate one piece once I got home, and felt extremely hesitant that this was really gluten free so I waited to see if I would be okay. After about an hour, I was profusely throwing up the entire contents of my stomach. Either this pizza was NOT gluten free, or it was - but gave me food poisoning. I almost never leave bad reviews - but this experience was awful.

Had a lovely meal here. Great for gluten fee, knowledgeable friendly staff, menu clearly labelled and staff confirmed all orders to be sure all gluten free. Had the mozzarella salad, delicious squid and amazing duck risotto. Very small resturant on the water front. Seating outside with about 5 tables for 2 inside.

Great resturant. Limited gluten free choices but all labelled, knowledge and friendly staff well informed on cross contamination. Non GF food all looked great. We had tortilla, veal capaccio and prawn risotto. All delicious. Great setting with a good vibe in the main railway station. Booking required as constantly busy.

It is a spectacular place to eat and have a great time with family or friends. The food is great and as far as allergens are concerned there is nothing to worry about. As for the waiters, they are all charming, especially a boy with glasses who brought me a complimentary gluten-free skewer because he had heard that I have celiac disease. Unfortunately, not understanding Portuguese well, I understood that he had made a mistake and I rejected it. Thank you very much anyway, if I have the chance, I will try all the delicious gluten-free skewers again. A kiss❤️❤️❤️

My family and I all agreed that this was the best meal we had during our entire trip to Portugal. Sooo many creative flavor pairings. Options for veggie and gluten-free eaters, which is important to us. Our table wasn't ready at our reservation time, but we didn't mind waiting outside for a few minutes and watching the local nightlife. They even offered us shots on the house of Beirão which was super sweet of them and also my new favorite liqueur. Thank you!

The best and most authentic Thai food I have ever had outside of Thailand. They have an extensive food and drink menu. Lots of gluten free options as well vegetarian options. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended!

I was so looking forward to come to this place, after having been to other Jose Avillez restaurants. This one was such a disappointment! The service was bad from start to finish, started off with a grumpy lady waiter that couldn’t be bothered to wait for us to choose, even though we had a coeliac child and needed to make sure what was ordered was safe. We were then served by another waiter, but it turns out half our order was already sent to the kitchen. Our food came in different times and the steak was cold. Two starters ordered first arrived after the main meals and again( one of them was cold. We sent the steak back, but everyone else had eaten their meal by the time it returned without even an apology. I think Jose Avillez should ensure the standard of his restaurants remain high, otherwise people will come out disappointed and write reviews similar to the recent ones here.

I miss gluten-free food, this is the first time that it has happened to me in a McDonald's that they don't have anything gluten-free. We couldn't eat because they don't have gluten-free options, only the fries. In all the McDonald's in Spain there is gluten-free food, a Happy Meal hamburger. No gluten, no problem, this time we couldn't eat. The place is very nice and full of people. The area is currently under construction and is a little dirty and dusty, but otherwise it is very good, but not having gluten-free food is very bad.

The food and service were beyond exceptional. From the start to the finish, it was just a pleasure to be there. My fiancé is celiac and they made sure on each level that everything she had was gluten free. If you are visiting Porto, highly recommend coming here. Yes, it is pricey compared to other restaurants but that is expected when you go for a fine dining. Will come back next time we travel to Porto. Huge shoutout to the staff🙏🏽

We stumbled upon this wonderful venue to escape the rain. Then we were enchanted. We enjoyed an excellent wine tasting and made some great friends with other guests. When we asked about a celiac-friendly restaurant, we were promptly invited to the restaurant at the back of the shop. We could hardly believe the dreamy ambiance that awaited us. This was followed by an unforgettable dinner with wine pairing. When we left the venue several hours later, it was still raining, but our mood couldn't have been better. We left slightly tipsy and with our stomachs full of delicious food. A very special thank you goes to the entire service team. We haven't experienced such excellent, attentive, and friendly service in a long time. We will definitely be back.

Our team is extremely careful, but since our dishes are all made in the same kitchen that already implies a risk of cross contamination, even if it’s a small one.   That’s why we understand it’s extremely important to warn all of our guests, so they are aware of the conditions we work in and then they take the decision of visiting us, or not. This is a very small restaurant run by a chef and a hostess/server with excellent tapas style food. We had an amazing experience here and some of the best salmon poke and tuna we've had. I am gluten free and although they don't have a dedicated Gf kitchen space or gf bread, we were seated at the counter when we could see the chef prepare the food and he was very careful about preparation. You could tell that he is well organized and always prepares food with care and it was not just because we could see him. Because it is a small restaurant, nothing is fast, but it's totally worth the wait.

The staff is extremely friendly and I think the food would have been ok. I asked to confirm what was gluten free. The cook said I could have the hake it came out without any seasoning at all. Bland and a bit over cooked. My friend fish was delicious tho

This is a very small tapas bar in Porto. A lovely scenic side street with outside seating. It was recommended to us by our hotel when we asked for something not touristy. This did not disappoint! I also need Coeliac/Gluten Free. No GF or allergens listed which is pretty normal for Porto, however, the staff member I chatted to after picking what I thought would be safe, was super friendly and understanding. She said that while a shared kitchen, they'd take precautions for me. I suspect I could have a lot more than I ordered if I wished. I had a few different items on the menu and a couple of glasses of wine, and it was all excellent. We went at lunchtime, and sat outside. It did rain, but being Irish, we were prepared so stayed sitting outside, and only moved inside to finish a glass of wine. Highly recommended.

My wife has to eat a strict gluten-free diet. No problem at all! Separate dips and freshly baked gluten-free bread. Our waiter also has a large selection and expertise for the main courses (we note that fries are not an option, as the deep fryer is also used for products containing gluten). The dishes we had sashimi, steak and sushi were all highly recommended. Gladly again! If possible we would give 6 stars.

Best meal we had in a while! They did gluten free adapted meal on request: I was ensured they used a fresh pan and utensils to avoid cross contamination. Try the white sangria and the chocolate mousse (!).

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted, seated and served with what appeared to be an effortless perfection. With each course and wine on our tasting menu and wine flight, the team of 3 gentlemen presented and articulated the offering with expert knowledge, and genuine, personable humour. What appeared to be effortlessly perfect service was almost certainly a potent mix of talent, passion and a tireless pursuit of perfection. As for the food. Simply put, it was the finest meal I've experienced. From the delicate Cardinal Shrimp, to the culinary explosion of the Fois Grois 2.0. The only negative I have about the evening was that it sadly had to come to an end. I should also mention that my partner who I dined with was a coeliac, and they happily modified the menu where necessary to give her the full experience on offer.

I loved this restaurant. The place is nice it has atmosphere. I like the name, seems like funny guys own it. The food was great. I asked for gluten free shrimps as starter, steak with potatoes. They had also dessert, chocolate musse. Service is very nice, speak a little english, but they have english menu and also menu in some other languages. The food was excellent hence I give 5 stars.

Great restaurant in Porto. We enjoyed our meal. Every dish we ordered was delicious. They were also very knowledgeable about gluten free, as one of our family members has Celiac. The server was also lovely and brought a desert with a little candle in it to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. It was so sweet and much appreciated. We saw people turned away because they were so busy, so reservations are recommended.

PERFECT sushi! The rotation menu is quite varied, with many options and also several options for dietary restrictions (such as gluten and lactose intolerance). Excellent, when you just enter a restaurant and you find workers having lunch there, you know you've stumbled upon it. What if! I tasted the cod made in Braga, that is, floured (gluten-free) fried, four vegetables and very fine potatoes. Delicious, although I find it a little drier than ours, but quite good. On the other hand, whoever chose the rice with octopus was not so happy

I had the mushroom risotto which is excellent and the vegan raspberry ice cream which is super tasty. The pizza rotation is very generous. Everyone took home pizza! Good quality-price ratio.
