Over 3 days in St Louis, I ate at:
* Salt + Smoke (Delmar Blvd)
* Pappy’s Smokehouse
* Sugarfire Smokehouse
S+S had the best brisket of the 3. I liked the deviled eggs. They knew what items were gluten free gf. Ribs were good. Liked the sauce.
Classic 1950s eatery with a 100% gluten-free menu featuring soft buns and separately baked fries.

The food was good. Portions are big. They have gluten-free buns for burgers and bake the gf fries separately (although my wife said the regular fries were better). Of course the main draw is the root beer. Many different options so likely can't go wrong. They also have several amazing super floats. It was my son's birthday, so he got the Birthday Cake one.
The location is great with views of the bottling plant inside and the walk of fame stars outside.
But what put this visit over the top was the service we received from Eddie. If they have a better employee, this place is blessed. He was excellent in every way. Personable, attentive and helpful. He went over and above anything expected.
This beautifully renovated space offers a super beautiful bar area and a nice outdoor patio that welcomes dogs, creating a casual and fun ambience. The cozy atmosphere and attentive service make it a standout spot for those seeking gluten-free dining options in a welcoming setting.

The best food I’ve ever had. I’m vegetarian and my partner is vegetarian and gluten-free and they had a very accommodating menu. Our server was outstanding, along with the wait staff being very kind. The atmosphere was cozy, from the music to the people and the decor. It’s also on a quiet street which was very enjoyable. Never had food and hospitality like this before and definitely plan to be a returning customer.
This intimate spot offers a dreamy izakaya vibe with retro anime and kaiju-inspired pop art, creating a cozy atmosphere perfect for relaxing. The staff is super accommodating and friendly, ensuring a safe and welcoming experience for gluten-free guests.

I have celiac disease which, in very watered down terms, is a gluten allergy. I was nervous coming in because as a celiac, trying new restaurants is really scary when you know you might get sick.
if you ask, they're super accommodating! my waitress was super nice and super patient and happily found an old copy of an allergen menu for me. as you'd expect, there aren't a whole lot of options available when it comes to rolls; there's spicy tuna, the california roll, etc. HOWEVER, there's tons of options when it comes to sashimi and nigiri! the fish is fresh and melts in your mouth and, above all, the staff is friendly, diverse, and all have really cool tattoos lol. thanks for the good food! :)

I was introduced to this restaurant from another couple a few years ago and have been coming back ever since. At first I was not used to the food and what to expect, but now I even crave it. My favorite dishes are the lamb, spicy chicken breast, zil zil (Beef in long, thin slices), and the lentil samboosas. In tradition of east Africa meals you eat by enveloping the food in injera bread. The best part is to eat the bread that is soaked with the flavor full juices on the platter. The meat is very lean. They also have take out. I like taking friends here that have dietary restrictions because they are very respectful of that. They were able to accommodate someone in our party that has the following dietary restrictions: gluten free, lactose intolerant, no salt, and a vegan. This is true!
