Over 3 days in St Louis, I ate at:
* Salt + Smoke (Delmar Blvd)
* Pappy’s Smokehouse
* Sugarfire Smokehouse
S+S had the best brisket of the 3. I liked the deviled eggs. They knew what items were gluten free gf. Ribs were good. Liked the sauce.
A hidden gem with a chic vibe and cozy ambiance, offering a unique dining experience that feels like a taste of the city.

The best food I’ve ever had. I’m vegetarian and my partner is vegetarian and gluten-free and they had a very accommodating menu. Our server was outstanding, along with the wait staff being very kind. The atmosphere was cozy, from the music to the people and the decor. It’s also on a quiet street which was very enjoyable. Never had food and hospitality like this before and definitely plan to be a returning customer.
Fresh, melt-in-your-mouth fish, a diverse and tattooed staff, plus accommodating service make this spot a standout for seafood lovers.

I have celiac disease which, in very watered down terms, is a gluten allergy. I was nervous coming in because as a celiac, trying new restaurants is really scary when you know you might get sick.
if you ask, they're super accommodating! my waitress was super nice and super patient and happily found an old copy of an allergen menu for me. as you'd expect, there aren't a whole lot of options available when it comes to rolls; there's spicy tuna, the california roll, etc. HOWEVER, there's tons of options when it comes to sashimi and nigiri! the fish is fresh and melts in your mouth and, above all, the staff is friendly, diverse, and all have really cool tattoos lol. thanks for the good food! :)
Chauniece is so great! I have a gluten allergy and she was so accommodating! The food was absolutely amazing, and when we told her, she reported back to the chef, Miss Cat, who was then nice enough to come out and talk to us. Some of the best service I've ever had in my life! We'll definitely be back.
I was introduced to this restaurant from another couple a few years ago and have been coming back ever since. At first I was not used to the food and what to expect, but now I even crave it. My favorite dishes are the lamb, spicy chicken breast, zil zil (Beef in long, thin slices), and the lentil samboosas. In tradition of east Africa meals you eat by enveloping the food in injera bread. The best part is to eat the bread that is soaked with the flavor full juices on the platter. The meat is very lean. They also have take out. I like taking friends here that have dietary restrictions because they are very respectful of that. They were able to accommodate someone in our party that has the following dietary restrictions: gluten free, lactose intolerant, no salt, and a vegan. This is true!
