Ate here over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The menu has a fantastic variety and all the dishes we tried were delicious. Most dishes being gluten-free and dairy-free is also much appreciated, as this enables most of the menu to be tried rather than limiting those with dietary restrictions. Definitely coming back.
Exceptional service and a vibrant atmosphere make this family favorite a standout, with a great selection of galettes and crêpes.

My wife and I had the fish and chips we were really impressed with the batter which was completely gluten free. I wish also the salt and pepper squid was also gluten free the waitress did go back and check that there was no risk of contamination .

Oh my goodness, the energy of Omar is INCREDIBLE!! What a beautiful place for dinner. The food was delicious, the service was second to none. The menu for coeliacs was also fantastic. And our son loved the board game of solitaire that Omar taught him! Great night out!!

Such a quaint cafe tucked away next to Milk&Moon Candles Mosman. It’s always happily buzzing so be quick to grab a seat in the courtyard area. I had an amazing homemade vegan and gluten free Banana Bread with vegan butter and an Oat Latte. Looking forward to trying other vegan options on their cheerful and healthy menu! I was very impressed by the variety!

We had our son's wedding reception on Sunday with 40 guests and we chose the "ultimate sharing feast" with several extra dish options added.
This is fine dining at it's best. We were looked after so well. Every guest commented on the presentation, quality and taste of every dish from the antipasto all the way through to the desserts and coffee and everyone left fully content and with great compliments.
The service was fast, and with lots of personality from the staff to add that special touch of fun. Gabriella catered to all our needs leading up to the function with her communication being excellent and making changes along the way as well as accommodating several people with dietary requirements covering vegan, gluten free and dairy free. I can personally say from experience, when people in our family have been noted with their dietary requirements at weddings, they have been catered for very poorly or not all all. This was not the case at Ormeggio.
The alternative selections presented were a huge hit with all those with dietary requirements, which is extremely important.
Even after the 5 hours were over, were were allowed to congregate outside and enjoy the ambience of the moonlight and moored boats on the water.
We thank everyone involved at Ormeggio on the night from the bottom of our hearts for making our son and daughter in law's wedding a most special, and most memorable occasion.
We ordered from the al a carte menu when visiting. The meal overall was fine, but nothing really memorable. The dishes all seemed to be very small for the price, which I understand if it's fine dining but this is not.
The toothfish was most disappointing, $80 for a bland piece of fish in an unpleasant sauce.
A frustrating incident was when we ordered a starter that could not be half gluten and half non. The waitress said that she would ask for the dish to be 'split' in half. The bowls were tiny, so that made sense. However when the bill came, we'd been charged for two portions. I couldn't be bothered to try and unpick the confusion so just paid.
Yes, there is the lovely setting and being amongst the harbor, but the table we were sat at had half of us looking at a white wall, so not very special for us!
Likely won't be back.
I’d visited the fabulous Kirribili Cafe, Celsius Coffee Co. before and love the idea of a cafe being right on the water. The owners opened a second venture on Mosman Bay Wharf called Monstera.
The small little cafe is located right at the ferry dock, with a capacity of approximately 20 people with a few tables and bench seats. The kitchen is so small and I’m very impressed at how they get out such good meals so fast.
If you get in early enough you can grab the table right at the window at the waters edge. With hanging plants (presumably monstera plants) and an old row boat hanging overhead.
We were there on a super cold day and they also had some heaters to keep the place warm.
The menu has a good mix of beautiful dishes and they do mix up the menu seasonally.
A few of our dining party tried the ‘Something Light’ a toasted sourdough topped with heirloom tomatoes, goat’s cheese with half an avocado. A stunning little plate of healthy ingredients prepared well.
We also ordered the ‘Seriously Green’ - toasted sourdough piled with sautéed kale, asparagus, lime avocado puree and poached eggs. This was vibrant, fresh and super healthy.
We tried one of the new menu options / the corn tortillas. These are a gluten free, dairy free and vegan option. The corn tortillas are topped with a chickpea and capsicum hummus, roasted zucchini, seasonal cherry tomatoes and micro herbs. These were absolutely so delicious and were polished off in no time.
In addition, we ordered another of the new dishes, the braised mushrooms and truffle. The braised mushrooms were in a thyme and truffle cream sauce. Served with polenta and sourdough. Despite making the bread a little soggy, the flavour was nice and it was presented beautifully.
Although we didn’t try on our visit, we hear their waffles and chia pudding is a crowd favourite! Next time!
Coffee is by ONA, certainly a selling point to get there! We love a cup of coffee by ONA and the barista pours a good drop.
Just be sure to give yourself time there and look up a map because we parked higher and made the trek down but realised you can also park at the wharf.

Disgusting food. They have no respect for their customers. My friend is celiac and they gave her food with gluten despite telling them. My boss is vegan and they gave her food with butter. They have no consideration whatsoever for people with dietary requirements or need. Worse place I have ever been. The chefs didn’t even apologised for the mistake. And after we expressed our needs they charged us $500 because they said we asked for extra stuff. Unbelievable. Worse people ever.
Good place for breakfast or lunch. Visited multiple times. Nice food, good coffee. Features gluten free breads, fresh juice bar, gelato counter. Inside and outside seating area. Friendly staff, good service. Really enjoyed toasted muesli and poached egg with salmon. Recommended.
