I haven't been to The Princess Charlotte since Covid and was interested to see if it had changed. They have developed an extension at the back which was beautifully decorated and we were sat quickly. My friend was gluten free so normally her options are very limited and she struggles to enjoy food outings without feeling like she has the same options as others. She was thrilled when she was given a whole gluten free menu and it matched a lot of the main menu too. The food arrived in a timely manner and was delicious. I had the hummus bowl while my friend had the gluten free pulled chicken cottage pie - both were delicious. It was very enjoyable, feel good food.
However, it wasn't the food or the atmosphere which will make us want to come again. It is Georgina. What a wonderful server! She was kind and attentive. She gave brilliant recommendations and made us feel so welcome with little conversations and a smile that made you forget it was pouring down with rain outside. She even offered us a takeaway bag too for our leftovers. The art of service has been lost since Covid and I can't remember the last time I had felt like I had been 'looked after' at a restaurant, but Georgina is a shining light at The Princess Charlotte and I hope we see her again soon.
