Our server, Tanya, was knowledgeable, friendly, pleasantly interactive and catered superbly to our two coeliac diners as well as accommodating a small appetite of our elderly dad.
The food was superb, peppercorn sauce on the GF steak and the sauce with the seabass are off the scale. The smash burger went down a treat and the addition of the Baileys to the ice cream was quite luxurious!
Wish there was one closer but will definitely be back!

We visited York for a day trip as a family and, just like in other cities we’ve been to, we decided to go with Côte — and once again, it did not disappoint.
If you ask me, the starters might be the weakest part of the meal — and I say that only because the mains and especially the desserts are so good that they outshine the rest. Still, everything we had was enjoyable.
We had noted during our reservation that one of us has coeliac disease, and without even having to mention it when we sat down, they brought over a gluten-free menu. Huge thanks to the team for being so considerate and attentive.
For starters, we went with the Camembert Brûlée and Calamari. As mains, we had the Confit Duck à l’Orange and Poulet Breton (corn-fed roasted half chicken) — both of which you can see in the photos. The gratin dauphinois served with the duck takes the whole dish to another level, and the duck itself was cooked to absolute perfection.
On the side, I opted for the Green Salad, which might sound simple, but it’s incredibly tasty — the mustard vinaigrette deserves its own shoutout. Highly recommend trying it.
For dessert, we chose the Lemongrass & Lime Leaf Crème Brûlée, Crème Caramel Classique, and Chocolate Mousse. Everything except the Crème Brûlée was an instant hit with us. While it was beautifully made in theory, the flavor combination just wasn’t to our taste.
Côte once again nailed it. Fingers crossed the Manchester branch reopens soon so we don’t have to travel cities just to enjoy these amazing dishes!

I really enjoyed my meal, but found the servings somewhat inconsistent. 3 of us had the beef rump, and all were different sizes and cooked differently, meaning some of my party did not enjoy their meals as much. 14th December York really really busy, we dropped in on the off chance, no reservation the restaurant was really busy, the staff were amazing against all the odds found us a table ,
The menu was amazing, vegetarian, pescatarian gluten free and vegan, all our requirements were met in full , the team were attentive informative but not intrusive.
Nothing was a problem.the food was full of flavour and the best fresh ingredients.

Won’t answer the phone at all, just hang up on us 10 times. We ordered a take away and can’t eat anchovies or cows cheese so we rang to edit the order and no one answered. Customer services can’t ring through for you and the app does not allow you to customise your order unless it’s ’vegan Or gluten free’. Very disappointing. We’re loyal customers and we’re just giving up on pizza express now as it’s such a ballache place to order in or from if you can’t eat certain foods … we’ve now spent over £40 on an order we can’t eat (and can’t cancel) because their website advises contacting the branch you order from after an order is placed and not before! Had lunch at this atmospheric old pub on a recent trip to York. It's at the end of a quaint narrow snicket leading off bustling Stonegate (there's a sign above the street to help you find it). Plenty of outdoor seating, either in the courtyard in front of the pub, or on one of three little terraces, one of them with lovely views of the Minster's towers. The timbered pub dates from the 17th century, with an eventful history and a few resident ghosts, according to a sign in the courtyard. It's dimly lit inside, with dark wood panelling, old photos of York on the walls, cosy nooks, and a lovely warm fire. Beautifully decorated for Christmas when I visited in late November. It was also very busy, but I managed to find a table in a corner of the main bar. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Extensive drinks menu, with a great choice of cask ales and plenty of wines to pick from. I chose a good Merlot. They serve hearty traditional pub food here, as well as lighter and veggie options. Good selection of gluten-free main courses. Opted for the steak and Ruddles ale pie, hispi cabbage wedge, Merlot beef dripping gravy and mash, with onion rings as an extra. The pie had a nice thick crust and tender meat, and the meal as a whole was flavoursome, piping hot and filling. I had no room for a dessert! They serve coffee, though the machine was broken on the day I was there. The atmosphere was relaxed and convivial. Overall, an enjoyable lunch and not expensive either. Would certainly come again.

A very popular spot for tourists to York as it has the most amazing views of York Minster via a wall of windows!
It was quite busy when I visited but staff were lovely, very attentive and welcoming and service was super quick.
The menu looked good but I only wanted a coffee and cake which were very good.
Be aware that gluten free cakes are not labelled or kept apart from others.
Toilets are upstairs.
I really enjoyed my coffee with oat milk and piece of tiffin.
