The food was fine. The fresh pita was fantastic, but the chicken was overdone and dry even though it was advertised as thigh meat. Really liked the gluten free veggie basket option to go with the dips and the eggplant appetizer sampler was nice although the carrots, labne and beets that came as a part of it were meh. Tried one piece of each and left the rest. Would have been nicer to be able to just get a three eggplant sampler.
Enjoyed; large variety of food, great for families and caters to so many preferences including gluten free. Noisy, but bright and open. Thanks to our great server, Moe, friendly, helpful, efficient.
I had the crew recommended vegan meatball slam or whatever they call it with gluten free bread. The bread was horrible and the sandwich overall was not good. The meatballs were delicious but the serving size was really underwhelming and the sandwich overall was just straight up not good at all. I ended up eating the inside of the sandwich then going home and eating leftovers since the bread was so stale. Overall this place used to be really good, I don’t know what happened to it. I will never eat here again.
I had Alan as a server at Hadilao, and he did a great job! The food was amazing as always, and he was very timely on checking up on us regularly throughout our meal. He even recommended a gluten free soy sauce since I’m gluten tolerant! 10/10
Such a lovely spot! Food was amazing, and they were easily able to adapt my dishes to accommodate no gluten or dairy. I had the Frisco scramble without cheese plus the amazing Millionaires Bacon. Highly recommend!
Ordered 5 items. Recommend gluten rice w/pork (竹筒糯米), lion heads(獅子頭), Shanghai style fried rice (上海菜飯) and Chongqing spicy chicken (重庆辣子雞). We think griddle beef (干鍋牛腩) is better served dine-in. In retrospect, we think the gluten rice is better consumed separately, otherwise, its taste overwhelms that of the Shanghai fry rice. On the lion heads dish, it is often immersed in soy sauce soup but XLB cooked it in a clear soup and the result is great.
We did not order xlb. Again, it is just personal preference to have xlb only @ dine-in since they are better served fresh off the steamer.
We had dinner here. Ordered the shanghai dumplings, potstickers, gluten with stuff meat, and seafood with chinese fried sticks. All the dishes were very tasty. I will definitely be back!
The coffee is great, but the service is mediocre at best. I had to guess that some of the pastries are gluten free. Not really reassuring for someone with Celiac's disease.
Fine dining, great for a romantic night out.
They offer halal wagyu which is nice because not many restaurants offer halal wagyu here in the states (just ask which ones are halal).
The wagyu was smooth and delicious, like
butter.
If you have dietary restrictions, let them know beforehand, as they do sometimes add non halal wagyu fat to their butter and many of the appetizers are made with animal fat/ alcohol.
They were able to accommodate for our dietary restrictions and for celiac.
Been here to this location for lunch and dinner, and the SF and Palo Alto ones as well. Make reservations for a special occasion to make sure you get a table and for special occasions, they will give you a handwritten card with a dessert at the end.
I love the Vitality Bowl with gluten free granola. My LO is a fan of the peanut butter and banana panini.
(They've also got gluten free bread.)
Everything is prepared fresh, so if you're in a rush call ahead to order. Everything will be ready for you!
