My husband ate like a little fair pig and knocked back a whole chorizo breakfast, plus a cinnamon roll. He loves the chorizo there; says it's not greasy and is really good. I had two perfectly over medium eggs and a gluten-free pancake, which was better than I expected. With all that plus a juice and a coffee, we were out of there for $25, which is really hard to do these days. They're open both days on the weekend, and we will definitely be back.
Lovely mom and pop cafe. I got the chuck wagon steak (bacon stuffed hamburger patty topped with grilled onions and brown gravy), which came with a baked potato, cup of homemade Navy bean soup, gluten-free toast, and fresh grilled veggies (summer squashes and broccoli).
I can't say the order was celiac safe, but I took my chances and feeling okay.
The server was kind and quick with my order.
I love this place. It is not just a restaurant (food it good), but also a place to find interesting, jams, honey (obviously), cheeses, candies, gifts, ice cream, pastries (including gluten free). So worth the stop.
Driving home to Canada from Monterey. Stopped to get some gas and lunch. Ended up having some of the best tacos and burrito we’ve ever had. Only $17 for both of us to eat. Cheapest meal on the whole trip. We will hopefully get to stop back next we drive down. I am dairy and gluten free and had no problems eating here.
