Not the best experience. Our waitress gave us indifferent answers about how the gluten free food is prepared. We ended up having to talk to the manager (which is something I hate asking for). The food ended up being okay and I didn’t have any reaction. It was nice to have gluten free mac and cheese! I think our experience would’ve been much better if we had a more educated waitress

Great place for my lunch break. The lunch specials are so so good, really well priced & fast. Love the soup too, and it's ready so quickly. (For gluten free they will give you rice or tortilla for the bread, and they have a lot of other gf options on the menu..)

I can’t say enough great things about this lovely place :) The food is amazing, but I think what really makes this place special is the staff. Everyone is so warm and kind, the service is excellent and on the two occasions I’ve been in the staff was very accommodating and sweet in helping me navigate the gluten free options. I’m so happy this gem is a short walk from me because I plan on visiting often!

A nice place to have breakfast. The waiter was friendly and welcoming. The place did seem understaffed. There was only one waiter who was helping multiple people inside and out as well as seating them. However he was very good at getting orders in and getting food out to you. I hope he gets some extra help in the future. The food was great. They have gluten free bread and pancakes which was very nice to see.

Amazing time spent at Pancake Cafe. We sat outside and soaked in the sun accompanied with aperol spritzes and cappuccinos. I was transcended back to mornings in Italy. Our server, Angie, was attentive and pleasant beyond belief. Both the regular and gluten free pancakes were delicious and fresh. Honestly the best gluten free pancakes I've had. We cannot wait to come back again!!
This place is the best. Bring cash, they do not accept anything else. The food is fresh and healthy and awesome. This place is heaven sent. You can even buy Gluten free loafs of bread. Just the bomb ass place!!!!!!!!!

We were in search of a quick, healthy meal and we found Sila’s. Accommodating to food allergies, the menu was clearly labeled. We had the Mediterranean chicken bowl which was easily made gluten and dairy free. Served in generous portions, the food was fresh and natural which is hard to come by these days. Will definitely be returning!

A true Chi-town neighborhood gem made special by the super friendly staff and cozy (tiny!) atmosphere. Food is very good too. Brilliant vegetables (so hard to find in chicago), basque inspired tapas and unique entrees with a seasonal menu. Charred broccoli was amazing. Parsnips were very good, as were boquerones. Special of the day was a perfectly grilled branzino with tortillas and a lovely pureed red pepper salsa. Wines were okay, but limited by glass (more interesting options by bottle). Dessert was limited to just one option: a basque cake very rich in both dairy and gluten, leaving no dessert option for folks with two common allergens (it sounded great though). And also slightly disappointing, they only have full strength espresso, no decaf coffee of any sort (though they are certainly not the only local restaurant to forego decaf). Overall, mfk. is a winner. Solid 4.5 ⭐️ if I could give it that. Sit at the bar. Order to share. Expect a great time.
We ordered a takeaway for five people - all burgers. I have never seen such sad looking tasteless burgers in my life. The burgers themselves were paper thin overcooked and hard as a rock. We had some specific requests: /without onions/ one with no cheese etc/’ none of them came the way we asked. The fries were ok but way too much pepper. In addition they were all packed and not marked which is which - turning it into a guessing game - particularly annoying and some were gluten free and there is no room for guesses like that! All in all a waste of money and food, most ended up in the trash.

This place is really good! We had a great dinner and never felt rushed. The food is delicious though it is pricey. The drinks are also great, and have a very herby theme (rosemary cocktails, artichoke negroni, etc). They have gluten free pasta, and gluten free meatballs.

My fiancé and i came here for the first time last night and our experience was amazing! 10/10. the vibe of the restaurant is so cute and cozy and the service was wonderful. i was recently diagnosed with a gluten allergy and a mild dairy allergy and they were incredibly accommodating. my fiancé and i both ended up getting the chicken and it was probably the best chicken i have ever had in my life!!! we will definitely be back!

You absolutely must order breadsticks. Even if you're not hungry. Even if you're avoiding carbs. Even if you have Celiac disease. They are absolutely to die for.
Pizzas are always good, but I tend to order either salmon or the steak frites. The salmon is always wonderfully fresh and well prepared, and always served on top of delicious seasonal vegetables with either a great balsamic reduction or a fresh, delicious pesto sauce. The steak frites is always great too, and they're perfectly happy to sub out the frites for veggies (I'm not opposed to potatoes, but they're seasonal vegetables are just always excellent!)
Drinks are good and fairly priced. Nice selection of wines by the glass and bottle.
Oh, and the service! Always friendly! Always helpful!
This place is truly a gem.
My husband and I love everything from here. They're also so accommodating to swap regular noodles for gluten free noodles and use gluten free soy sauce. It's our go to for comfort asian food.

Went here for our ma’s birthday while visiting Chicago for a show at Wrigley Field and it was fantastic! She has celiac disease and they can make any of their pastas Gluten Free which was awesome. We’ve been to some nicer Italian places but this was some of my favorite. Highly recommend!

Love the atmosphere here! Very cozy and intimate, with some nice outdoor tables in the summer. Great wine selection, good food options, including many vegetarian/pescatarian/gluten-free choices. I thought the sole fish was amazing and I enjoyed the Malbec wine, which pairs well with any dish. The service is also great! Very nice staff and usually pretty quick service. Also, you can bring your dog if seated outside. I highly recommend if you were interested in trying Turkish or Mediterranean food!

Wakamono Sushi was outstanding! Being gluten free, I was able to enjoy an amazing night out with friends, and didn’t worry about cross contamination. The servers were GF educated, and they even made some items special without gluten. On top of all this, the sushi was incredible. Try the Spicy Scallops and the Spicy Trio. This is an amazing sushi spot in the Lakeview neighborhood. The restaurant is clean and quaint, with fantastic service, and a robust menu of the classics, as well as their own signature rolls. Great step up from a diner. Love the food, service and speed. The ingredients are fresh, and labeled well. If you want to eat gluten free, vegetarian or any choice you want or need, it's easy. The chorizo hash is perfect, crunchy potatoes, perfect eggs and guac make this my go-to. The fresh fruit and granola is my other favorite. The coffee is fantastic, not diner coffee. They brew it fresh and it's perfect.
Service is fast and efficient without being pushy. If there's a wait they take your number and text you when ready. Simple things, but everything done well. In a pinch the counter is a great place to grab a meal too.
