We recently had a great group dinner at Malibu. Excellent experience and fantastic food. I had the Hawaiian Ribeye, my spouse had the salmon- both delectable! Everybody in our group was happy with their choices.
Our server, Maddie S. was phenomenal! She served our large table (and many others!) with a smile! Most impressively, was her ability to get our complex orders right with the several modifications we seemed to make in our big group.
If Malibu could make any menu updates:
I would love to see a few more gluten free options on the menu, as well as some non-alcoholic spirits/mocktails. Thanks!
Experience a lively college vibe with unique cabin decor, signature-laden walls, and diverse pizza options at this Bloomington landmark.

Food is fine, they offer a gluten free pizza and my fiancé loved it!
The service, guess it depends on your waitress, ours was Meh...
The place is lovely, family environment!

SO GOOD! Tons of great gluten free options - menu is clearly marked and the staff was knowledgable with recommendations.
They even toast the bun so it stays together pretty well. Great drink options and lots of fun mocktail options as well. I had the cowboy chicken sandwich and upgraded to the truffle fries. Both were 10/10. We also ended with the chocolate flourless cake which tasted like a chocolate truffle. So yummy all around. We’ll be back!
SERVICE? Phenomenal
FOOD QUALITY? Phenomenal
FOOD TASTE? Phenomenal
They even have gluten free toast, pancakes, and waffles (although some cross contamination is inevitable, but the best part is that each waiter makes a point of explaining that to anyone ordering it gluten free) and even though it’s gluten free, IT STILL TASTES SO GOOD. I was in Bloomington for two full days and ate breakfast here both days. It was SO GOOD
Every now and then I try them out again to see if they have anything a person who is GF and vegan can eat, but no. Their vegan options are always something deep fried in gluten and they have no vegan meat substitutes.
A chill spot with amazing coffee and ever-changing flavors, plus cozy indoor/outdoor seating and a cool rewards system!

I was pleasantly surprised by both the food and service. My wife is gluten-free and they had a dedicated GF menu and made sure she was comfortable with everything. I highly recommend the Viking lamb burger!

!! Vegetarian & Vegan & Gluten Free Options !!
I could go on for days about how incredible this place is. I recommended here to all my coworkers and we literally have to refrain from eating here everyday.
Here’s what I order..
Yellow Curry with Tofu and extra veggies (comes with fluffy jasmine rice) and Shogo momos (pan fried) with an extra salad. GET THE SAMOSAS!!
Yellow Curry is the best I’ve ever had in my life. Not only is it sweet, savory, and filled with fresh vegetables.. it’s portioned to where l have left overs.
Momos are hand made, perfectly steamed, and not under seasoned. You can get them pan fried for an extra buck and it’s well worth it.
The salad dressing is a perfect blend of refreshing & unique plus the salad is always crisp and fresh.
Service is great and the staff is so warm and welcoming. The owner is kind and cares so much about your experience. Whether you are from town or visiting, stop by for lunch or enjoy a casual dinner. Be sure to be mindful of their hours. Big bonus is that take out is just as good as dining in.

Pretty good-tasting food. Deducting a point because the pad thai we ordered did not have any chicken in it at all that we could find. Otherwise pretty good though. Next time maybe we'll order protein-free and add our own later. Also, we are grateful for the gluten-free options; my wife is mostly gluten-intolerant, although she is not celiac.
This is a lovely little restaurant in downtown Bloomington. It's located a couple of blocks from the IU Sample Gates. The decor and art are simple but vibrant. Oldies music added some fun; some songs ya just gotta hum along to!!🎵 The menu is pretty basic, all American diner fare. Not boring-menu items have a current twist. For example, gluten free and vegan options are available. A customer favorite is the dinner plate sized pancakes. I ordered the veggie omelette. My daughter ordered 1 of everything. 2 OE eggs, toast, fried potatoes, bacon, & biscuits and gravy. We shared a pancake for dessert. She was very hungry! The food was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Service was fast and friendly. I also enjoy that many of the staff are Indaina University students. If you're in a chatty mood, go during a slow hour. Ask your server about school. If they're not busy, you'll have an interesting little chat. Be sure to support higher education with a nice gratuity.
Great coffee hangout on the downtown square with small handcrafted bites, a few gluten-free options, including milk alternatives. A must try high-quality coffee house.

My wife and I recently went to the Elm for a date night. They have great selection of foods and drinks avaliable.
We enjoyed the grilled garden salad and the chicken roulade. Our waitress was amazingly helpful and even had my wifes celiac disease in mind before she came to our table to greet us.

Ended up here because Nick's was closed. Lennie's did not disappoint. Zoey provided assistiance with finding the right beverage and food. The chili and flatbread were very good. Great service and atmosphere. Gluten free and vegan options are a plus. Would recommend.

I highly recommend this place. It was my first time in Bloomington, Indiana, and this was my first stop. As someone with a gluten allergy, it was great to see the menu clearly listing allergens. The burger I had was hands down the best burger I've ever had. The restaurant had a charming atmosphere, especially with its holiday decorations. I will definitely be coming back soon!
A popular spot for its unique cauliflower crust pizza, praised for its generous toppings and serving size, though a bit on the pricey side.

We ordered their veggie pizza on the cauliflower crust (gluten free). It was quite good… hard to believe crust was cauliflower (was just like a regular wheat dough thin crust ). Would definitely order again, though a bit pricey for what you get (my reason for only 4 stars), over $20 for a medium, I could have easily ate the whole thing myself. I’ll be watching for coupons/specials.
A chill spot with easy ordering and tasty options that make for a repeat visit!

I have to eat gluten free. I ordered choose 2, McAlister club with gluten free bread and a cup of vegetarian chili. The club sandwich was so good and the chili was good as well. Ordering was easy, the person taking my order was very nice and marked my ticket as having an allergy. Will definitely be returning.

Great food and atmosphere. Walked in with a party of 4 during dinner rush and were able to be seated immediately. There were tables with chairs and also an area on the ground with tables where customers could eat if they removed their shoes. The carpeting and seating area seemed very authentic.
We only ordered entrees and they took around 45 minutes to come out. The restaurant appeared to be understaffed.
The food was phenomenal. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Entrees are around $15. There are vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options.

Stopped there for a quick bite to eat and had tacos. They were fantastic! Will be going back for sure. I was not sure how well I could do Gluten Free there so went for the corn tortillas with the tacos. Seemed safe. But for GF people out there, do your research. I’m gluten free by choice so if I mess up I don’t have any noticeable symptoms.
But the tacos were yummy!
Went here on a recommendation from a friend. We ordered a gluten free pizza and it was fabulous! The staff was nice, and there was live music as well. Check their Facebook or call to see if there is music. Good food and great atmosphere!

First and foremost our server was Emma was a bad ass! She was prompt, polite and kind. Since it was our first time in she walked us through the menu and helped with recommendations.
My husband and I went with their smaller burger option - he got an original bub burger and I added bacon and an egg. I will say, I found it interesting that the bacon was chopped on topped under the cheese vs bacon strips. The burger was good, nothing too fancy in taste, seemed under seasoned, but it was good. The star of the show in both of our opinions were the cole slaw and the loaded potato salad. Those sides were straight full of flavor! The slaw is a crunchy, chopped slaw that is dairy free, not too heavy on vinegar! The potato salad, I don’t know what made it so damn good but it was fresh, creamy, the potatoes were perfect! While I appreciate that they offer gluten free buns, it was a bummer that the fries aren’t gluten free.
We did get our food pretty quickly which is nice seeing as it was right at lunch time, and I appreciated that they had uno cards at each table to keep you entertained vs just sitting on your phone.
I LOVE THE ORBIT ROOM. Gourmet hot dogs, craft beer, special non-alcoholic beverages and the sweetest atmosphere. Love their rotating toppings (ahem, last summer they had PICKELD CHANTRELLES) and their thoughtfulness in Vegan and gluten free options. Can’t say enough good things about this special, special spot and the folks that make it exist.
I went to Samira for lunch and had their buffet. There was a nice variety including meat, veggies, and two choices of rice. The food was good, though all of it was too salty for me. And I like salt. Without asking, they put bread and dessert on our table, which we did not eat, as both of us are gluten-free.

We always stop here when we visit the lake. The food is good and the kids love to take a dip in the pool. A nice ending to a day on the water. My only request would be to mark the menu to identify GLUTEN FREE options.

This place slaps. We had a variety of dishes. Must have been Jeremy working because the Jeremy's special was amazing. Probably the best gluten free and vegan dish in town. Also enjoyed the drunken noodles. Very fragrant and flavorful dishes. I think the chicken pho has healing properties. Fresh and delicious, really nice guy was running the front and helped us decide what to order. Thanks a lot!

If you’re looking for some Hoosier nostalgia, Nick’s is the place to be. The bucket-o-fries was a great starter for the table, spicy with a nice aioli. You can’t go wrong with the Stromboli. Plenty of pickles! The black bean burger is available on a gluten free bun, which was tasty. Definitely a great college town hang out.
If you’re looking for something more upscale, visit Nick’s sister restaurant Osteria Rago, which is one of our favorites in Bloomington.

SO GOOD! Ordered the Pineapple fried rice gluten free and it was great. Had some different veggies compared to other places around town. People I was with both ordered lunch portions of curries or pad thai and loved them. For gluten free, you do have to order a dinner portion - but it made great leftovers!
Servers were great, quick and knowledgeable about gluten free. Love it!

My wife and i went for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn't very busy, maybe eight tables occupied. Our server, Alexis, was attentive but not intrusive. Our food came out quickly. I had a Two Step meat tray with pork and chicken wings, green beans, and fries. It included spicy pickles and a piece of corrnbread, ranch dressing and carrot sticks and celery for the wings. My wife had a pork sandwich with macaroni and cheese. It included the spicy pickles.
The pork was fall-apart tender and deliscious. My wife said it was, "maybe the best pork sandwich I've ever had." Chicken wings were tender and smoky, the rub they use is delicious. They have House, Sweet, Spicy, and Alabama White sauces. The cornbread was as tender as I've ever had. Fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The pickles weren't to my wife's liking so I ate hers as well as mine. The green beens were just as I like them, cooked with bacon until they're falling apart. My wife liked the macaroni and cheese although it did have some ingredient that she couldn't identify. Overall an oustanding visit! We'll be going back.
Total bill for two, no alcohol or dessert, was $32.40 after tax.
Note: some of you who read my reviews might notice that I eat gluten-free. I was diagnosed with a gluten allergy many years ago. Avoiding gluten is my preferred way to eat, but I occasionally consume gluten. I know my limits. The cornbread was not gluten-free. As always, if you are sensitive, be sure and ask your server!
