I’ve been debating if I wanted to say anything for quite a while, but frankly, they’re not the same quality Black Forest they used to be. We used to go there several times a week. They used to have a lot of good gluten-free options and their gluten-free cheesecakes used to be amazing. We noticed the quality had slipped and even stuck around for a while to see if it would improve, it only got worse. We used to acquire cakes and such for family events, so we were loyal reoccurring customers, but now those days are gone.

Best sliced brisket in New England? Classic easy going bbq atmosphere. Came on a Sunday after 5 - had called ahead knowing the offerings would be limited. Got very wet brisket - 1 lb, and a pulled pork dinner w baked beans and collards. Daughter got the Mac and cheese - she loved it. Very very cheesy! I asked and all meats and sauces are gluten free / gf. Best brisket I’ve had in New England. Great bark, very wet, but not too fatty. Sauces are unique and good. Beans and collards were phenomenal - the greens were a little watery since end of the day. Pulled pork not always my favorite despite living in North Carolina for 20 years - there’s had good bark and good moisture. Not too dry. Again, the sauces kicked it up - had the sweet, spicy and tangy. Will definitely go back, highly recommend. For those who’ve been to Que Shack in Durham - similar feel. Brisket reminds me of Opie’s in West Texas or the original Stubb’s. Staff was super friendly, we got take out but then stayed to eat inside. They could use a soda fountain instead of the New Hampshire style refrigerated bottles. Fresh made tea would go a long way too. Nice that they’ve got the beers on tap - no GF alcoholic drink options.

Amazing place. Just wish they had glute free apps. and maybe offered some sides. If they only made that buffalo cauliflower app with gluten free bread crumbs they would sell a ton of it!! Hint... Hint... I will keep my fingers crossed..

Very good food, exceptional service. They very happily do modifications for Gluten Free dishes, which is nice. The ensalata mista is very nice. As is the veal parm and Marsala. To be clear, the food (I’m guessing the pasta is not homemade) is good “for Nashua” but it in no way rivals Italian food in the North End. Still, satisfying and recommended.
