Some of the best service and food you can ask for. My husband is celiac / gluten free and the waiter was incredibly personable and walked us through everything. We were suppose to have dinner at Frankie’s but found ourselves in the area early and they welcomed us for a late lunch instead. Sadly, they didn’t have their GF pasta that day but we picked all items that were gluten free and the waiter broke it up into 3 courses for us — so it felt like we were experiencing a true Italian meal (just all gluten free). We left full and happy! There is something so homey about the inside and it makes you want to stay and enjoy another glass of wine (and Negroni) with whomever you’re dining with. We can see why it’s raved about!!
Dive into a cozy spot for breakfast with deliciously crispy griddle cakes, speedy service, and delightful coffee to kickstart your day!

Truly fantastic breakfast griddle cakes. We got the banana nut gluten free ones and they were a treat. Perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and flavourful on the inside. They truly tasted like banana! The picnic ham was also great and you can never go wrong with some sunny side eggs. Coffee was also on point. Stopped by on a Friday morning, no line, and our food came out super quick. Lovely experience, definitely must try pancakes!
Authentic Mexican vibes shine here with standout dishes, modern twists, and a fantastic dessert that redefines flourless chocolate cake!

This place was GREAT. I don't often say that (I'm difficult). I am quite particular about Mexican food, and I have celiac disease, so I have to check out a place very carefully before I can go. I go to Mexican places often because the cuisine offers more dishes that are likely to be gluten free by default than many other culinary traditions (plus, I just love it). Bar San Miguel was highly recommended on a celiac chat site, so I made reservations for dinner for my husband's birthday. First of all, let's just say, outstanding, authentic Mexican cuisine, all around, just to get that out of the way. Everything was amazing. Everything from the guacamole and chips to enchiladas, salsas, etc. were just a little better and a little more special than anywhere else we had had them before. There were also some little modern updates/surprises: instead of Mexican rice , the side dish with my dinner was a quinoa dish. It was quite good. Next: super friendly staff. Our waiter was so helpful and knowledgeable. He immediately alerted me to something I was about to order that he knew to be at risk for cross contamination before it even occurred to me to ask. He already knew the entree I wanted (short ribs with mole) had no flour in the recipe, but he checked with the chef to be sure. For dessert, they had a flourless chocolate cake that was (for once) not bitter and not too acidic (because flourless chocolate cake usually is both), and also not too sweet, with just the right pop of cocoa -- fantastic. I will definitely be visiting Bar San Miguel again when I am on your side of the Hudson and East Rivers.
Consistently good dishes, cozy outdoor seating, and a menu that impresses with variety and great flavors make this spot a must-visit.

I've been coming here for years and the food has always been consistently good. My go to is the Rigatoni Firenze. The eggplant is beautifully cooked and delicately smoky and complements the tomato sauce and the gooey chunks of mozzarella. The other dish I would recommend is the spaghetti dish with the saffron sauce (might not be on the menu anymore). For dessert the tiramisu is a good choice. The coffee flavor comes through and is not overly sweet. The last time there was a bit too much cocoa powder on top.
Also, just noticed today they also offer gluten free pasta.
A fantastic spot for catering with impressive portions, tasty options for all diets, and a welcoming vibe that keeps everyone coming back.

I lead HR at Avant Gardner and wanted to surprise our staff by ordering breakfast. On a Tuesday night, I called Brooklyn Cafe last minute to place an order for 50 people, and they truly outdid themselves! Gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options available!
The food was hot, tasty, and the customer service was excellent. The store was clean, and everyone was so welcoming.
Special thanks to Melissa and Lenny!
We will definitely make this location a staple for our office orders.
The portion sizes were impressive too. You get what you pay for and MORE! I'm so glad I found this neighborhood gem through Google!
Definitely hit them up!
