The service was lovely and as someone with coeliac disease, I felt very safe eating here (the server let me know that the original owner’s wife is celiac, and so that made me feel like they would have a good understanding of cross-contamination). The eggs and hashbrowns were just OK and the chicken sausage and the pancake that I had were pretty good.

The food here was amazing! From the fruit water they spend hours making to the in house gluten free bread (you'd never know) and the in house made fermented mock meats this was such a good meal. We had the fish balls and two classic banh mi sandwiches.

I liked the food and the staff was very nice and friendly, they seemed like they did want to be there. The food was good, there were many gluten friendly options. I also liked the drink options and flavors. the mimosas say they’re puree but it seemed more like a puree syrup.

A delicious little breakfast spot. Although there usually seems to be a line, I was lucky and didn't have to wait. Their menu is varied but feels a bit limited, but the name says "pancakes." The hash browns are greasy for not being so fried. The sausages are delicious paired with the pancakes, even the gluten-free ones. It's nice to eat on their terrace; the weather is perfect. The service was good, although despite the place not being full, the waiter forgot to bring me a juice I ordered. I don't know if it's customary in SD, but they brought us the bill before we ordered it, which seemed rude to us.

So incredible we ate here two days in a row! Krysta was absolutely amazing and accomdating to our gluten free and vegetarian needs. The food was delicious! Fresh and flavorful, we enjoyed Mimosa flights, the acai bowl, Swami's breakfast combo, the vegetarian hash and several of their smoothies. Cool, relaxed and trendy location (we stayed nearby at the Beau). Krysta also gave us recommendations for great spots to visit during our stay and was right on with her recommendations. When on vacation, it's not just the scenery and attractions that bring visitors back---it's the people you meet. Krysta is such a great representation of how wonderful San Diego is. We are already planning our next trip back!

Actually came here for Yelp event and took an order to go. It was just the plain Buttermilk Pancakes and Whipped Mascarpone topping. I actually wanted the red velvet pancakes but they don't have those to go to avoid any cross-contamination on their griddles at the back. The custom flavors are only available for stove top. To go orders were for gluten-free or buttermilk pancakes only. That said I actually really loved even those buttermilk pancakes so I can only imagine how good the red velvet must be! Just the right amount of sweet and I didn't even need to add any toppings on it. Mascarpone was perfectly smooth and delicious on its own as well. Really looking forward to coming here and making my own pancakes sometime soon.

My gluten free 11 year old is on a boys trip with his Dad. He called me specifically to ask that I leave a 5 star review because he loved the gluten free chocolate chip pancakes so much. He ate 4 of them in 10 minutes. He was one happy customer.

It makes me sad to leave this review but I feel it’s important. This place has been my go to as a celiac friendly establishment for the past few months, as I’ve eaten here without problems so many times, until today. There was some confusion with our waitress and I ended up getting glutened :( so very sad as my GF options are already so limited. I’m so sad that I can never go back. I’m not sure what happened in the kitchen that lead to this big mistake but I’m having an allergic reaction and paying the price of whatever negligence took place with my food today. Should know better by now, I just can’t eat out anymore with celiac. I just wanted my fellow celiacs to know to beware of this place; it was safe for me for so long, until today :( I won’t be back and it breaks my heart.

While there aren’t many GF options (just pancakes and oatmeal), I was able to make it work. I had the GF pancakes and the server confirmed they are cooked on a separate surface. They came out flagged as a precaution. Both the server and manager were kind and helpful. The syrup is not GF, but I asked for honey and it worked out well. The pancakes were fluffy and tasty. I wish there were more GF options but overall appreciated the accommodations and helpful staff.
