this place was new to us, we had a voucher and booked a table for 4 (3 adults and a child).
One of us is Gluten Free (GF) so this is always a primary concern when eating out as even a little differentiation in the info we receive on queries would lead us to leave as we cannot risk the aftermath of such an endevour.
Now, the staff were absolutely amazing, the menu with the options for GF???
There were tons, nearly everything bar the breaded stuff (ie stuff that had burger buns etc) all had GF options, we were so impressed.
Again compliments to the staff, we cant praise enough that they were very attentative (bear in mind the place was absolutely pack, even outside was - although it didnt last long with our good old weather) with drinks, extras even our young child was spoken to properly and not ignored, we will be back again very soon.
AMAZING PLACE.
A welcoming spot with a fantastic variety of options that caters to dietary needs, making every visit a delightful experience.

Popped in on the off chance on a Sat lunchtime. The main thing for me being Gluten intolerant was whether they cater for GF. They certainly do, really great options, I had Cod n Chips and it was great. The service and staff was fantastic, so I will be calling in again when I'm in the area.
Very good wholesome food, divine desserts, had booked a table then had to ring to say delayed kindly lady was patient with us even though kitchen was closing in 20minutes thanks to her, the chef and all the staff.Went back to Nicholls Arms first time since lockdown had a fantastic meal dogs made extremely welcome in the bar and my gluten free needs were satisfied. Warm welcome just a great pub. Went back again this year just as great as before.

What a nice cafe to visit popped in after a roof inspection in Port Talbot. The food was to taste and filling I had the gluten free breakfast with coffee.
What a lovely experience. Such friendly staff and a great menu to choose from. The chef even provided a gluten-free sauce for our friend. Reasonably priced.

I was working in the area and in need of a good cuppa. Great coffee and cake. They even had a gluten free option. Lovely location and friendly service. Highly recommend.
Called in on the off chance for lunch. Very attentive staff, went out of their way to help me with gluten free options. Very clean and welcoming. Would go again.
Great place for adults as they have a wide range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks available, along side your usual bar snacks. Friendly staff who always have the best intentions and will go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your visit there. They also serve food Monday to Friday mid day up till 3pm (it can vary, depending upon if any events are happening) worth popping by for some traditional pub food with the kids in the day time, its relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
They also serve vegan, vegaterian and gluten free options.
Charming atmosphere and creative dishes blend perfectly for a fantastic dining experience that won’t break the bank.

Dined here with a friend last night and the Pelican exceeded our expectations in terms of quality and value for money. We had 3 courses and a glass of wine each and spent ~£35/head which is very reasonable. The dishes were a great fusion of creative gastronomy and country pub cooking with portions that were generous without being overwhelming. I highly recommend the whiskey smoked salmon to start.
The building itself is charming, welcoming and clean, and the staff were attentive but relaxed. We will be returning! Thanks.
I was a little disappointed that (V) options were listed in the menu but allergens felt more of an after thought and we’re just scribbled on. GFO were limited to dishes that didn’t include gluten but a few freezer staples like gluten free pitta, or gluten free bread would have opened up the rest of the menu to individuals with these dietary requirements.
