I went in last Thurs 10th April about 8pm and it was confirmed at the counter they do gluten-free and that it was a separate fryer, the fish and chips where lovely but 2 days later my symptoms started and there must have been some cross contamination. Its a shame, they are obviously offering this as a service but just not taking it seriously enough and the consequences of even the slightest of cross contamination and the impact it can have. A great place for very nice fish and chips and very reasonably priced but if you can't eat gluten they can't be trusted and they should not be offering this service if they aren't going to take it with the seriousness it needs. I DONT AGREE WITH YOUR REPLY, INFACT ITS AN INSULT. WE ALL HAVE A DIFFERENT CYCLE WHEN THINGS TAKE AFFECT AND I KNOW MY OWN BODY AND MY CYCLE IS 1.5 TO 2 DAYS AFTER. AGAIN I TAKE INSULT TO YOUR DISAGREEMENT THAT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN ANOTHER INSIDENT, BASICALLY SAYING I MIGHT BE WRONG. YOUR STAFF MADE A MISTAKE, IT COULD HAVE BEEN SOMTHING SIMPLE LIKE USING THE SAME TONGS OR SOMTHING THAT WAS GLUTEN COULD HAVE BEEN COOKED IN THAT OIL, BUT I CAN ASSURE YOU IT HAPPENED HERE, I HAVE A VERY STRICT DIET AND DO NOT DEVIATE AND I KNOW MY CYCLE THROUGH EXPERIENCE, SO I WOULD JUST TAKE IT YOU FELL SHORT ON THIS OCCASION AND LOOK TO IMPLEMENT STRICTER MEASURES MOVING FORWARD

Excellent choice of veggie/vegan tapas, all carefully labelled and they even had gluten free bread. The service was prompt for a Friday evening and the food arrived swiftly. Only complaint was that the focaccia was quite salty.
Diners rave about the extensive menu and chill atmosphere, making it a go-to spot for a delightful meal out with friends or family.

Dead good gluten free menu. Service is lovely and easy with the clips for drinks and when youβre ready to order. Food was lush, loved the loaded duck fries and seaweed

First visit here this evening. Asked for a quiet table was put in a lovely wee side room . Not only was there a range of gluten free food that they specifically asked if it was for an intolerance or allergy, they were happy to customise other dishes as all made fresh. Food was amazing. Friendly helpful staff too. Only issue was we couldn't use the normally spacious car park was closed for an event and weren't aware but were able to park at a retail centre 5 mins walk away so no big disaster
A charming spot for gatherings, featuring a picturesque setting and a variety of tasty sharing platters to enjoy with friends.

Adorable little restaurant. We came for a roast dinner for 4. Easily one of the best roast dinners Iβve had in Leeds. Holly, our waitress, was brilliant. Two of us are coeliac and she checked with the kitchen what we could and couldnβt eat, and served us promptly with a smile. Great food and service. Thanks!
Expect a unique vibe with a nice menu and polite staff, but be prepared for a bit of a wait when ordering.

Sat there for over half an hour before we had to ask someone to take our order. The manager came over due to a gluten allergy, who then informed us that they were out of all large pizza bases, that could have been useful to know when we sat down!!
The manager even left us mid conversation to go and give another table their food π€£π€£ Ended up leaving and going to pizza hut.
So thank you very much for the poor service and wasting our time.
Enjoy delicious pizzas with tempting dips and a cozy vibe at this charming spot in the heart of the shops.

The carbonara was probably one of the worst Iβve had in a while, the sauce ruined it and the pasta pieces were too big to even have a full bite of, pasta was served in a pan. My partner had a gluten free pizza which was actually very nice but I myself did not enjoy my food.
The service was amazing, loved the staff members but the atmosphere just felt too crowded, didnβt feel like a nice place to sit down as we were all cramped up in this upstairs area and it was too loud to even hear anything.
Enjoy a place known for its extensive safe options and a unique membership that makes dining more budget-friendly.

We always get a great meal at Pizza express. We probably eat more regularly there due to the GF vegetarian options because one of us is coeliac and PE takes allergens seriously. He gets a delicious meal that won't hurt later!
It is expensive now and the gold membership makes a big difference to the bill -Β£16 this time, which puts it more in line with the place next door. That may be a great option for others but does not do GF.
Service is friendly and helpful, too.
With a creative kids' menu featuring customizable options, this spot excels in plant-based choices, but watch out for certain prep safety for little ones.

Great food, as always. I tried a new dish from their new menu. All the greens on toast made for a delicious breakfast - it had a really nice creamy butterbean base, a subtle kick of citrus tang, perfect amount of saltiness from the feta, crunch from the seeds, with a good hearty amount of veg and I loved that crispy kale! Love that they have so many gluten-free options on the menu. A 5/5 and will be back for more! βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ

Been wanting to visit here for some time, finally made it and it does not disappoint. Very busy, extremely popular (for good reason), and dog friendly too. I was fortunate and managed to get a table early afternoon on a Saturday, but quite a few folk had to be turned away as no tables free. Young, efficient and very friendly, charming team work here. The menu changes every day, so you need to check their website in order to see what to order - there are no printed menus on the tables for this reason. Lots of innovative choices for vegetarians and vegans and gluten free options available as well. I had a rhubarb kombucha and was slightly disappointed that it was a bottled one, had expected it to have been homemade. That minor point aside, I found the food and service to be outstanding. The mixed greens with sunflower crunch was tasty, though it took some chomping through. Now then.... the smashed potatoes... d.i.v.i.n.e!!! Good portion. Smashed Maris Bard spuddies with garlic salt and gochujang mayo. Most excellent and so, so moreish. I toyed with the notion of treacle tart for pud, but was slightly hesitant due to its Β£7.50 price tag. The table next to me ordered one. I did order it in a moment of spontaneity and, oh my word, I am so glad that I did. Supremely marvelous, out of this world delicious. Worth visiting Leeds for that alone. Tasty as, melt in the mouth, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Treacle tart, crystallised ginger and vegan cardamom custard. Oh, folks, if this is on the menu when you visit, you must try it. I can still taste it now. I'd like one of these every day!! Quelle pigess, heh heh. Has products for sale too. 10 stars easy peasy. Utterly highly recommended. Brilliant. Definitely coming back here.

Great pub. Always a pleasant atmosphere. Often come in for a drink and itβs always a nice place to sit and chat. Went over Christmas for food too which was excellent. The staff were able to make several dishes gluten free for one member of our party.

Visited for the first time last night, and loved every minute.
The service was great, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly.
My partner has a gluten intolerance and they offer a gluten free menu if you ask for it. It would be nice if they offered more options and if the allergens could be clearly marked on the main menu, but I understand why that could be difficult to guarantee.
The food overall was delicious and I want to try every item on the menu! I especially enjoyed the tofu salad.
The atmosphere inside is lovely and I can't wait to come back.

I've visited twice in the last few weeks and cannot fault the place. Plenty of meat, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available. I've had the homemade warm banana bread (which is delicious), the residence granola and the residence avocado on toast - ALL very tasty! Staff have always been very friendly and I've managed to get seated with my dog both times. Making this my local breakfast spot from now on.
This spot boasts a diverse menu with a fun theme, plus an impressive selection that caters to all preferences!

We were greeted and sat down quickly by a friendly waitress but then didn't return to take our orders and kinda just forgot about us even though the restaurant was really quiet when we arrived and we were sat close to the main entrance. I was about to leave the table to ask if someone could take our orders before thankfully another waitress noticed us waiting and came over. She then had to scold the other waitress and tell her to start taking orders for other customers who were still waiting. A couple who arrived after us were waiting about 15 minutes, before they got up and left frustrated because no one came. I don't think they even noticed that they'd left. No one really seems to be actively looking to see if anyone needs anything, and were often just chatting at the bar.
We ordered the same starter, but one was required to be gluten free which wasn't an issue at all, however when they arrived they didn't specify which one was gluten free so we were a bit anxious about that. The sake was great, but we got the bento boxes for the main which were kinda just okay, not worth how expensive they are in my opinion. I've been here a few times before and the food has been great but I left feeling a little bit disappointed this time.
Experience vibrant Latin American culture with a colorful ambience, perfect for any group size, though it can get a bit loud.

Iβm sorry to say that Iβm extremely disappointed with the service I received on the above date. It was a bottomless brunch for 4 people.
I booked this as part of my girlfriendβs 21st birthday and I was shocked by the horrific speed of the drinks service.
I booked this as before this specific visit we had an extremely positive experience with bottomless brunch. We did this a couple of months ago were we had service from βLiviaβ who was amazing. She really looked after us and she made the day really important. She was always smiling and cared for us throughout. Words cannot describe how amazing she was.
However on our most recent visit, we feel somewhat ignored. We only have 5 drinks in 2 hours and one point we were sat waiting for 20 minutes without a drink. The restaurant was no more busy than it was last time and the service was somewhat rude for a male member of staff. The staff were good explaining the allergyβs as my partner does have celiac. But the services was slow and we felt that no one was really looking after us. The drinks were as expected and they were really nice, along with the food.
We feel extremely let down by the service we received and for the price feel like it was not worth the stay. I feel like due to this experience we will not come back and it seems strange how we have revived two different types of service from the same restaurant. Due to this it is unlikely that we will come back to this restaurant.
Even worse that I could not provide feedback on the website. I have emailed the specific restaurant and they have still yet to reply 1 month on.

Such a lovely, cosy pub down the road from Roundhay Park. The waitresses were so friendly and helpful, and there were plenty of options for coeliacs - was thrilled that they had gf Yorkshires/gravy for the roasts, as well as cheesecake/Bakewell tart for pud! Felt very well catered for. Would recommend!

Had one of the best gluten-free beers (Virtuous by Kirkstall Brewery) in this pub. AFAIK this is the oldest pub in Leeds. Loved the atmosphere even though it was a Monday evening. Might go back to try the other gluten-free beer on the menu!

Their reply saying they can offer "rabbit style" just solidifies that they only cater for vegan and vegetarian. I'm sure there's much better burger places like mc donalds.
Don't offer gluten free buns but offer vegan/vegetarian? Clearly don't care about dietary requirements.
Chill vibes and a diverse menu make this spot a great choice for anyone looking for tasty options, especially for special diets.

Terrible experience from lack of flavour food to the awful service from Josh the assistant Man...
Aug 2024
My wife and I take a date night/ day each month as we have a hectic life with work and 7 year old little girl.
Yesterday we wanted to travel up to leeds from Derby to enjoy a Virgin holiday gift voucher that, I bought for my wife for Xmas.
The start of our experience and Brasserie Blanc Leeds, was as expected good.
Helpful as my wife is Gluten and dairy intolerant. (Unfortunately not loads on the menu for choice, however ran through the options).
THATS when our experience and day got RUINED!
The waiter came across and asked how the meal was, I had mentioned that mine wasn't great (king prawns) however had eaten it as l was starving (I had been up since 3am and had a yogurt, whilst traveling).
The prawns were over cooked and dry and the main was under seasoned.
The assistant manager Josh came over and asked also, I mentioned it to him and said I don't want to complain it's just my personal opinion and my wife's was like a watery broth that also lacked flavour.
Response was excuses instead of trying to help. I had made a comment that Greggs would have more flavour.
After 30 minutes no one came over to take our deserts order. Josh made every effort not to come over to us.
Which we got up and left and gave Josh the voucher.
As we were leaving a lady did come out to apologise and Josh stood at the door. l asked why he didn't come over and said I thought you had been served as the menus were not in the table, I mentioned you had been serving us this afternoon and knew I didn't enjoy my main meal.
More excuses came out. God awful customer service!
As we were walking away Josh made a flippant remark "enjoy your Greggs!" This is shameful and uncalled for! Appalling behaviour that I wouldn't expect!
Great steaks and wonderful service especially from our very knowledgeable waiter Ben. Great knowledge of gluten free cross contamination. Expensive but worth every penny
Loved the atmosphere, great prices and attentive staff! Ordered a platter to share with friends and the food was divine. Were very accommodating to my dietary requirements - had gluten free crackers separately for me!
Experience top-notch coffee and a chill vibe, with generous portions that make it a must-visit spot for a laid-back outing.
