Had a very pleasant coffee experience here in the past. This time came with Dad for afternoon tea. I am neither gluten averse nor vegan, but their Carrot Cake offering for those that are was most excellent. Lots of that nutty carrot cake texture, and a well balanced flavour. Perhaps if the otherwise excellent icing was slightly less sweet? The Booster smoothie was top tier, and something I'd happily order again. The great taste while still containing Spinach meant I felt healthier with every delicious sip. My Father gave the veggie quiche an impressive 8/10, which is extreme praise from a man who can complain about anything. When pushed to elaborate, he stated "it was very nice". High praise indeed. We'll be back.

We went there for an afternoon drink during Art Deco weekend, and then for dinner on the Sunday night. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly young Nova(?) who served us for dinner. Around $30 for a really nice fish of the day. Our gluten free requirements weren't a problem, and we'll definitely return next time we're in Napier.

Catered for our allergies and Needs perfectly. I often avoid dining out due to being gluten free and my son With Egg/peanut allergies. But Alistar and Alana both put our minds at Ease. Super friendly staff and great outside seating. It’s hard to find a place where you can make sure you can eat there if you are gluten-free or celiac. But the Gintrap has heaps of glutenfree options available. As we asked the friendly waitress, she told us all about the glutenfree things. Some things are also got offered to be made celiac, she just mentioned that they can’t do the fried stuff celiac cause everything is fried in the same fryer. We ended up ordering a glutenfree pizza and a glutenfree burger and both of the meals were absolutely stunning.

Went there on a public holiday. No booking for lunch. 8 people. The place was busy. They offered us a place in the garden but said we would be a bit cramped around the table. I all worked out and we had a great time there. Almost all ordered the fish and chips at $32 a plate! Wow was it worth it! Everyone said it was the best fish and chips thy had in ages. Very generous portions of fish. Thy even did a gluten and dairy free plate too. No issues. Probably should have shared the plates, but everything was finished. We had a great white wine with our meal but I must admit I forgot witch one. Paid the 15% surcharge without any issues. Hope to go back again.

Glad we found this delectable cafe before we left town. Out of everywhere we visited this week this one's was the best. Coffee was delicious , eggs Benedict with salmon and the big breakfast. Staff were attentive and the atmosphere was perfect. Loved bring by the seaside and how modern this cafe is. Definitely recommend a visit. My sidekick said the gluten free bread was the best he’s ever tasted. It’s made on site and looks delicious!

We had made a booking based on the fact they offered Gluten Free pizza bases and offered vegan cheese. Upon arrival they informed us they had run out of gluten free bases and when we asked if they offered any other meals suitable for a GF, DF, EF child they said they would check with the kitchen and get back to us, which they never did. We ended up walking out and finding a better establishment.

I stopped by for lunch and a coffee. Coffee; mocachino with coconut milk was excellent. I had the vegetarian stack with bacon. Served promptly, plenty of spinach, bacon, portobello mushrooms, a little more capsicum dressing would have been appreciated. All up though lovely. I also appreciated their knowledge of dairy & gluten free food. Well trained. Would go again.

A duty manager took our meal order and did not fill us with confidence that he understood our insistance that one meal had to be gluten free. Very small meals Staff passed plates in front of us to others at our table After asking if we wanted coffee or desserts and us replying can we have five minutes, they put a chemical through the coffee machine. So we were unable to have coffee. I don't imagine we will eat here again.

Awesome service, I am gluten free, when I told my waiter I thought I could not have the cheese sauce he let the chef know and I was made a cheese sauce without flour. EXCELLENT SERVICE!!

We were welcomed and pampered by Elisa, a dedicated and passionate super top manager. Particular attention is also paid to intolerances. Excellent gluten free and dairy free dishes. Absolutely not to be missed if you are in Napier!

Great local Chinese takeaway just outside of CPD in Napier. Open on New Years day which was a bonus when most of the other takeaways in Napier were closed. Upon ordering Combination Fried Rice as Gluten Free, the owner / chef came out to double check, amd advise that the beef and soy sauce contained gluten, so he was going to leave those two items out. It was awesome to find a takeaway where the owner knows his ingredients and his customers allergies, so we will definately be back here on our next trip to the bay.

Stunning environment, so chic. Beautiful food and a great drinks list. Good gluten-free options too and they are accommodating to celiacs. Parking could be an issue when it's busier but I'll worry about that at the time. We will be back!

We stopped in for lunch on Monday on arriving in Hawkes Bay for a brief holiday. The staff were very helpful in sorting out food that would meet my dietary requirements offering me gluten free options for gravy and cheese sauce to go with a large and delicious portion of roast beef with vegetables. I can definitely recommend them as a lovely place to eat especially if you have dietary needs.

Great experience, food was amazing. Large varied menu with lots of vegetarian and gluten free options avaliable. Fast and friendly efficient service, food was prepared promptly. The only niggle I would have was the heat but it was a 30 degree day outside so understable. Been here a second time and was just as good as the first, amazing food highly recommend
