Phenomenal! Absolutely so delicious! The server (girl) was so so kind and sweet. They gave us two things on the house as well. Seriously the best meat and they even had gluten free injera! So delicious and generous portion size! We got the deluxe meat combo (27) - highly recommend as you get to try everything!
A chill spot for brunch with a varied menu that everyone loved, though the wait for the check can test your patience.

Delicious food with gluten free options! Service was great! We waited a bit too long for the check, but everyone was so nice! Will definitely come back again!
A quirky spot with unique vibes, offering an interesting mix of records and organ tunes downstairs alongside various options usually found elsewhere.

Do not waste your time walking 16 minutes from the station to go to this place because you saw a great review on Google. First of all they don’t open their kitchen till 4pm and secondly, if before 4 you cannot even get a gluten free sandwich. Wont see me again.
The food was amazing at the beginning of the meal but by the end felt more pedestrian. Similarly, the service dropped off as the restaurant got busier.
Here's the real rub: my wife has celiac, which we communicated to the restaurant with our reservation. We were told there would be no problem accommodating her. At the beginning of the meal, we felt *very* comfortable with the care the staff was taking--everyone who came to the table identified the gluten-free dishes, which were uniformly excellent through the first three courses of the five-course menu.
But when our mains came out, hers (1) was not the thing she ordered, and (2) came with a crumpet. We weren't immediately suspicious about that latter point--the gluten-free bread options thus far had been excellent. But another server passing our table spotted the crumpet and told us that it had gluten, fortunately before my wife took a bite.
My wife initially meant to just eat the rest of the dish even though it was the wrong one--but then got concerned about whether she might just have been given someone else's order.
We had to flag down yet another server to ask for an explanation for why her main was something different from what she ordered. Finally, the sommelier came over with an explanation of sorts--apparently the main she ordered could not be made without gluten, and so the dish with a big lump of wheat bread was purportedly the gluten-free alternative. No one had told us ahead of time that her original order couldn't be satisfied, and so we were left a bit confused and a bit more concerned.
All in all, these were hiccups we would be able to overlook at a restaurant charging a quarter of the price, but this was frankly a deeply disappointing experience at a Michelin-starred restaurant (and at this price point).
Experience a cozy, intimate vibe with Parisian chic decor that sets the perfect scene for a romantic evening.

Maybe the ultimate romantic restaurant in DC? What a delight of an establishment - cozy, intimate, incredibly chic and exceeded our expectations in every way.
The menu is robust and can be modified well to meet any dietary requirements - my wife, who is gluten and dairy free, had no problem putting together an incredible meal. The calamari is one of the best I've had in DC, and we both enjoyed steak frittes and the beef bourguignon as the main course - would highly recommend both.
The atmosphere is like none other - the alcoves that allow intimate dining for two are a must to enjoy conversation while still taking in the Parisian chic of the decorations, lighting and other touches that make you a Francophile for the evening. The service was warm, friendly and knew the menu very well to help with the dietary recommendations referenced above.
Simply put - if you are looking for a very unique, romantic and quality dining experience, you will not regret Bistro Cacao.
Eden's cooking never disappoints. Starting from her 100% teff. gluten free enjera ( baked in promises) to her delightfully seasoned and cooked to perfection veritety of meat and vegitable dishes, Eden's kitchen is where you go to eat a home cooked meal.
She now has a beautiful outdoor seating area and your food reaches your table in a timely manner.
Experience a phenomenal vibe in DC that impresses both locals and out-of-towners alike, making it a perfect spot for food enthusiasts.

Truly Phenomenal! One of the best meals I've ever had in DC! The atmosphere and vibes are perfect. I love to bring out-of-towner friends here when they visit. Even my foodie friends are blown away. They do a good job of accommodating gluten and dairy free restrictions as well.

One of my new favorite coffee shops! You walk in and the aesthetic makes you feel at peace. As a first timer, I was stuck between a few seemingly interesting items, and Paola, who was at the register, was able to tell me a bit more about my choices and select a meal. SN, the rose steak sandwich, with gluten free bread, was bomb!

Stopped by on a Friday for lunch. Not very busy and easy to find a table. My husband got the meatball sandwich and I got the buffalo chicken sandwich with gluten free bread. Both were really good. Chips are extra. They have a cute little market with wine beer and snacks. Dogs were allowed inside. We'll come back again for coffee breakfast sandwiches.

I had a great gluten free experience here. The server was knowledgeable and explained the entire allergy-friendly process from order to delivery. They made menu modifications and a manager delivered my meal with additional assurance that it was cross contamination free. Highly recommended for those that are celiac or gluten sensitive.

We enjoyed our dinner at Daru. The food is really different and delicious. It is elevated without being pretentious and the portion sizes are good.
The cocktails are also unique, and while expensive, at least they’re not the same old.
The gluten free items were clearly labeled on a gluten free marked up menu. I felt there were plenty of options.
I generally dislike the mandatory 20% service charge, and believe it leads to menu price distortion. However I heard the servers say to each table that 20% was included in the check. We would have tipped at least 20% anyways.
Creative, healthy options with a cozy, heated patio make this a year-round favorite for a chill vibe and unique treats!

I love this place! The food options are so creative and I love that everything is healthy. They offer lots of gluten free options and I love their giant chocolate/peanut butter cups. I also love the ambiance! Their patio is so cute and heated/enclosed in the winter so you can enjoy it year round. The manager and staff at the location near Union Market are very helpful and friendly as well. My new favorite spot!
