Beautiful place, great customer service, and the food was delicious! The reason I give a 4 star was because the noodles for my pasta weren't 100% done. They were gluten-free and needed more time to cook. But the sauce was delicious, and the manager was very attentive.
This was a really special meal, excellent flavours, service and ambience. Anita was particularly careful re gluten free and some dishes were cooked specially to be gf.

Attending a dinner party with Ensemble had to be one of the most enchanting nights of my life. If you don’t know, Ensemble HTX is a culinary speakeasy.. which means they pop up all over Houston in undisclosed locations. You never know where you will end up in the city, which is half of the fun! The food was absolutely divine. The night we attended was Indian cuisine and because of my gluten allergy— the menu was gluten-free for the entire experience! The food was impeccable. The location was absolutely charming. The chef and hosts were more than generous and helpful. You have to do the wine pairing! If you wondering whether or not to book a reservation.. do it. It’s nothing like you’ve ever experienced before.
Yes they have great food and excellent service. And they have an incredible homemade gluten free spaghetti that is to die for. But I am tired of being complacent by high end restaurants that only offer gluten free options for the MOST EXPENSIVE DISHES. It feels like punishment, or that the chef is only willing to accommodate gluten sensitivities if it means more money to them.... I knocked off another star for not having a gluten-free alternative to bread at the start of the meal. Please take a lesson from your colleagues in Chicago, Atlanta, Austin, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, and international cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Rome, Hong Kong, Berlin..... I could go on and on. This sort of treatment to gluten sensitivities belongs in 2005, not 2019. Please catch up.
