We were greeted with smiles and welcomed. We ordered breakfast and my partner is celiac, we asked for gf bread and the lovely lady instantly asked if she was celiac, so that was amazing.
We sat down and it felt like we had only just planted out bums on the seats and our amazing iced coffees and chocolates came and very shortly after our yummy breakfast was on our table.
Yummy food, really reasonable prices and fast!

Fat Kiwi never disappoints...food is excellent as is the service! WOW!! If you happen to be a foodie looking for the best of flavours and quality and service this is definitely the Cafe for you. My yummy wife agrees that 'The creamy mushrooms and bacon' are a 20 out of 10 and all the meals are so well presented and delicious and really top class. Clark is the Superchef and together with his very own "Lois Lane," who is the darlingest hostess, they will make your heart and your tummy very warm and content. Even the gluten free options are really lovely and if you are looking for excellent coffee, look no further! We gave it 5 stars 'cause that's all that's available. The food was sick! Had the beef double cheeseburger and it was seriously the best burger I have ever had and very fulling. A bit pricey but I would definitely pay to have that again. I gave this a 4 star because there was only one little problem, just the language barrier with the young man that served us so we got gluten free burger instead of no gherkins. We had a great evening at the Mussel Inn last night. My hubby is a Coeliac, I'd emailed last week to ask if they could cater for him. This was the prompt email back....
"Yes, we can cater for coeliacs.
When you’re here and ordering, please ask for the gf menu and then reiterate your coeliac requirement.
We wash utensils, use different pans, etc so please emphasise coeliac rather than simply gluten free."
I can 100% say that hubby had a brilliant Spicy Goat Ragou. I had the ribeye steak & our daughter the nachos. We all enjoyed meals, drinks & the atmosphere was fantastic. This place is a legend for a reason!

Don’t get me wrong my sub was good. But my partner is coeliac , she ordered a GF wrap and they didn’t change their gloves, and they were doing others orders at the same time, she pulled her wrap out and it’s all stuck to the paper, ripped the paper. If your gluten free/coeliac don’t come to this place. If you’re just keen on a feed it’s not bad, but pretty disappointing .

Went for lunch. When we arrived only one table occupied, but three that needed clearing. Staff chatting in the corner basically ignored us. No indication of whether it was table service or order at counter. Ordered gluten free meal. It seemed okay, but later I had all the symptoms of having been glutened. Probably cross contamination due to poor food handling practices. We won’t be back.
