As someone that only eats gluten free, this was hands down the best sushi experience of my life. Do yourself a favor and order the dynamite lobster roll. SO good. You’re welcome. Also the most basic sake on their menu, $7 on the happy hour menu, was the best sake I’ve ever had.
Kosher Chinese meat restaurant with good service and good food. Gluten-free food is available and listed on a separate menu.
We had a pleasant dining experience.
With a chill vibe and standout options, this spot impresses with its delicious dishes and attentive service that truly enhances the experience.

I was so lucky to try out a few dishes. The server was very polite and understood I was celiac. So he helped me decide what to order. It’s difficult as it is plus asking a chef to accommodate my order. They did a wonderful job. The food was so good!!!
Would come back anytime.
My husband loved the fried sushi and sister ordered beef teriyaki.
This spot impresses with a diverse menu and a chill vibe, making it a must-visit for sushi lovers looking for tasty options.

I love Tsuri! As a gluten free girl, it is so nice to get sushi with GF eel sauce and soy sauce. Wendy is a hoot and her and Nick always take great care of us. I love the salmon citrus roll and if you can tolerate cross contamination, the crispy rice (avocado and spicy salmon) is amazing!
Experience incredibly fresh hand rolls and sushi in a welcoming vibe that'll have you planning your next visit before you even leave!

I visited Sugarfish in Los Angeles with a group of friends on a spontaneous evening, intrigued by the buzz surrounding their "Nozawa Trust Me" menu. As sushi enthusiasts, we were excited to experience the acclaimed omakase.
The ambiance struck us immediately. The minimalist decor, with its clean lines and warm lighting, exuded an understated elegance that set the stage for an exceptional dining experience. The vibe was both relaxed and sophisticated, perfect for an intimate meal.
From the moment we were seated, the service was impeccable. Our server was not only knowledgeable but also passionate about the menu. She explained each course with detail, enhancing our anticipation.
The "Nozawa Trust Me" menu is a revelation. Each dish arrived in perfect sequence, showcasing the chef's masterful progression of flavors and textures. The tuna sashimi was the freshest I’ve ever tasted, melting in the mouth with a delicate sweetness. The albacore sushi, served with a hint of ponzu, was a standout, its flavor profile perfectly balanced. The warm hand rolls, particularly the blue crab, were a comforting contrast to the cold sushi, each bite bursting with flavor.
What sets Sugarfish apart is the quality and simplicity of its ingredients. The fish is sourced daily, ensuring unparalleled freshness. The rice, slightly warm and seasoned just right, complements the fish without overpowering it.
Despite the premium experience, the pricing felt justified. The "Trust Me" menus offer a well-curated journey through sushi essentials, providing excellent value for the quality.
For those with dietary preferences, Sugarfish is accommodating, with options for gluten-free soy sauce and the ability to modify the menu.
Overall, our visit to Sugarfish was exceptional, exceeding our high expectations. For sushi lovers, Sugarfish’s "Nozawa Trust Me" is a must-try, offering an authentic and memorable sushi experience that stands out in a city full of culinary delights.
Expect thoughtful attention to detail in a cozy outdoor setting, perfect for those seeking a safe and enjoyable experience.

Hamasaku prepared the most delicious and safe meal, with the pressure of a highly sensitive celiac at the table. It is rare to see such care put into keeping someone with allergies as safe as they did. Simple outdoor seating is private as well.
Delicious and so accommodating for a gluten-free diet. I gave four instead of five because the first time we went was not that great. The second time was fantastic.

My sister was visiting and found this place on a gluten friendly app it had great reviews and many GF options. We arrived without a reservation but were still greeted with a smile and shown to a couple of tables for walk-ins.
After a few minutes, Sidney came and introduced himself to take our drink order. Sidney was met with a berage of questions about the menu being GF. Sidney let us know that the restaurant had decided to go away from the Gluten friendly menu at least 6 months ago. He did, however, take the time to go through the menu with my sister althewhile suggesting some amazing selections from the daily specials. They still have some really great GF options, and my sister was very pleased with the meal that she had. The classic California roll made with blue crab and the Philly roll were perfect. We also had a few other rolls, including the tiger roll (gf), the Rick James, and the girlfriend jeans. all of our selections were very appealing and tasted excellent. Sidney was exceptional throughout the evening and is one of the reasons why I will be returning to this restaurant, with a reservation, of course.
Friendly service from start to finish! I went in alone and was greeted and served very quickly. I'm gluten free so I asked about gluten free soy sauce and they did have it and I tried to customize a roll and since it wasn't too busy, I was able to do that. Sushi was pretty good, prices were a little on the higher side, it was like 12$ for 1 roll and $3 per avocado roll which had more rice than avocado. It was close to my hotel and I'll definitely keep it in mind as a close option the next time I'm in California for work.
Expect a bustling vibe and mouthwatering flavors, plus a unique no-tipping policy that makes this spot stand out in a service fee-filled city.

The food is so good. It's always crowded so anticipate a wait. The shrimp roll is my favorite, but they are all good. I also love that they include gratuity and will not let you tip extra. In a city full of service fees that don't even go to the servers, this is the way.
They can accommodate gluten free. Bring your own soy sauce though.

We enjoyed the Omakase at Sushi Tama during our visit to LA and it was so wonderful. The chefs were incredible and so precise, thoughtful, and pleasant throughout our meal which made the experience even better. I will be recommending Sushi Tama to friends in LA. 🖤 I also have several food allergies and am gluten free and they were conscientious in accommodating me.
The place is victim of its success and there's usually a line to sit down, so it's gonna be hard if you plan on going there at night with a party of 2+. It is a really simple place with good food, so I don't really get why it's so popular with groups of friends? I live next door so it'd be nice to grab a couple of rolls without having to wait 20 minutes. This is a weird situation since all the other restaurants around close at 8pm or earlier and it's definitely not a night time area! Good for them! Next door you have the pasta place and burger place, both good, but don't draw as much crowd (I do not eat gluten so the handrolls are my best option.).
Totoyama Sushi and Ramen invites in customers with a smile to enjoy delish Japanese cuisine. Upon entering the restaurant, which conveniently sits in downtown West Hollywood, customers are cheerily greeted by both the sushi bar chef and the hostess.
The restaurant’s chef, Chef Yukinari Yamamoto, began professionally preparing sushi in 1988. He has since championed a legacy of creating authentic, delicious Japanese food. We did a little research before arriving to eat my meal, and we were excited to taste his edible creations. He recommended delectable dishes such as the Albacore Ponzu Sashimi, Salmon Truffle Oil Sashimi, or the Omakase. (among others) One of the most notable, specialty dishes Totoyama serves is their Aburi (“flame seared”) sushi. Totoyama also has several vegan and gluten free ramen options as well.
Diners have the option to sit at the sushi bar, which is bottom lit by blue LED lights and positioned behind chic bamboo partitions. Customers can watch as their sushi is expertly prepared by the chef. Totoyama’s sushi bar extends into a fine dining room. Outside, the dining establishment also has a shaded patio with trendy string light decorations and bamboo plants. No matter where you choose to dine, the ambiance of Totoyama is classy but relaxed.
To start, we ordered the Ramune Japanese soda. Totoyama only carried the original flavor of the beverage, which tasted reminiscent of fresca soda. Totoyama also offers alcoholic drinks–such as sake, award-winning wine, draft beers, Japanese craft beers, cocktails, shochu and wine– as well as a variety of teas.
To pair with the drinks, we ordered the creamy vegan ramen. Upon ordering, my server asked how spicy we would like the dish. Treading the fine line between challenging my taste buds and burning them off, we decided to order my ramen with a medium spice level. When it came out, my ramen bowl was topped with radishes, cabbage, kaiware sprouts, red peppers, green onions, and carrots. The broth, accentuated by lemon juice, was strikingly zesty and rich. The noodles were made of kale, but tasted much like regular ramen noodles. The ramen had a scrumptiously subtle kick of heat. The broth created the perfect ramen base, and chef Yamamoto filled the bowl with crisp, garden-fresh vegetables that complemented the hearty kale noodles. We enjoyed my meal at Totoyama and will be back soon to try to Aburi sushi rolls.
Enjoy a thoughtful menu where unique options ensure everyone feels like a VIP, with delicious offerings that make it worth the trip!

GF friendly. Almost everything can be made gluten free and it's been thought out from the beginning. You don't get second class food here as a gluten free person. Everything is amazing. I will go out of my way to come here again.
A small, comfortable upscale Japanese restaurant that offers excellent foods and warm, carring service. Both sushi bar and table service are available.
I'm a vegan and sometimes a sushi purest give me a bit of a hard time. Not here. The servers are friendly and provided vegan and gluten free information.
I ordered a veggie roll and Agedashi Tofu, fried tofu cubes in a light broth. I found both to be very good. The sushi chefs are artists. Their serving are large, delicious and simply elegant.
The rest of the party ordered sushi, that was beautifully made and I'm told, delicious. Their serving were also generous.
Free wheelchair accessible parking at the rear of the restaurant. Okumura is ADA compliant including the bathrooms.
Experience a warm and welcoming vibe with exquisite flavors that make it a must-visit for sushi lovers.

To start, the staff is amazing and so nice! They make you feel very welcomed and you're more than just a customer here. I ordered a lot of food but the Muscle Heaven and the Salmon Engawa Roll were the two that stood out the most to me. Exquisite flavor from an exquisite restaurant. Highly recommended if you enjoy sushi.
Also, my wife has celiac disease and they offer Gluten free options as well as Gluten free Soy Sauce!
Our favorite for date night. They know our names and our order. Feels like our little small town place in a big city. Love the crispy spicy tuna, which they do Gluten Free for us.

We got the half note omakase and even though I couldn’t have any soy sauce due to my gluten allergy, each of the sushi were wildly flavorful and was one of the only times I enjoyed the use of wasabi made into the dish. A great spot for some elegant sushi.
Love how there are two sections to this place, a bright indoor patio area to the right. A classic, dim-lit sushi bar to the left. Truly feels like Japan meets Venice Beach and the best of both worlds can be found here.
Decently priced considering the location. Sushi rolls range from $8-$25 depending on the fish choice. An avocado roll is like $6. I got a sashimi salad, which came loaded with fresh fish. Light and filling, cost $25 after tip and tax.
They have gluten free soy sauce and you can substitute upon request. My friend has a sesame allergy and another friend was gluten sensitive. They subbed the tempura for an extra piece of sashimi in the bento box, which was very kind.
The owner actually came by to ask how we were and to thank us for our visit.
