This place was most amazing at dealing with food for my coeliac son. We had booked dinner and when we turned up they had our booking sorted and took care of all my sons needs without any issue. They had lots on the menu that were gluten free and were safe for coeliacs. Probably the first time my son really got to enjoy a whole meal out, complete with dessert! The staff were amazing and were so friendly and helpful, nothing was a problem. Thanks Smugglers, for a great dinner and experience. Definitely recommend to our friends.

Our favorite cafe for delicious gluten-free options and super yummy food. It is only cabinet food, but this means it's ready quickly, good if you have limited time. Great coffee and nice, friendly service. Don't go late as they close promptly and sometimes run out of the gf options.

River Kitchen catered for our event over three days, and were absolutely superb. We had vegan and gluten free catering, and they provided delicious varied options. Their customer service is also top quality, we would absolutely use them again.

This has become my favourite place to eat out in Nelson. The food is always fresh and delicious (the dolma are heavenly!), and the service is always excellent. The food is very reasonably priced for the portion and taste, and they are able to cater to coeliacs. Make sure to get an apple tea with your meal and you'll leave happy!

Recommend this spot for anyone visiting +++. Great food, great service. My partner has rated this as one of her best culinary experiences, such fresh and wonderful seafood cooked well, not over complicated, all while watching a large ship come in. Catered wonderfully to a coeliac member of our friend group as well (she loved it!!!!).

Excellent food and fun atmosphere! Almost all the menu is Gluten-free as well. We tried the Burritos, guacamole, tacos, chorus, chocolate cake, classic margarita - all were super tasty, fresh and lovely!

Dined in at the restaurant, my partner is a coeliac and had a gluten-free Pad Thai. I got myself the Duck Roti (highly recommend, can easily feed two), and a chicken Pad Thai. The staff were amazing and very friendly, service was very good and food came out fast. Would definitely dine there again.

We celebrated a family occasion and knew we would be a happy party so we booked the small private room which was perfect for a small group. Julian the waiter was exceptional.. his service to us was knowledgeable on the food and wine he served. Very professional and laughed along with party. He did very well to manage a happy party. We had Trust the Chef which was not short of amazing, fresh well presented food and Julian did well catering for our gluten free dairy free and peanut allergies

It's very daunting going out so I had rung to ask before we came . I understand the pressure being the mum an also because I'm a restaurant manager. The staff out front are absolutely amazing 👏. The Aperol Spritz was amazing; however, the manager was incredibly rude. One of my friends is gluten intolerant, so we were looking for gluten-free pizza. They had some on the menu, but then they told us they couldn’t make it that day after we had already ordered our drinks. Everything was fine, and we enjoyed our drinks, but we couldn’t order anything to eat and decided to just have drinks and go somewhere else for dinner. When we told the waiter, the manager came over and said we had 20 minutes to finish our drinks and leave. Ten minutes later, he shouted at us, saying he needed the table and that this was not “a bar.” I can't remember the last time I was treated so rude and disrespectful in a restaurant. Never again!

I love this Cafe/Bulk Food shop for a quick drink or getting the essentials on the way home. The shop is kept super tidy and with a variety of bulk goods it caters a wide range of diets. My favourite is the Bounty Gluten and Dairy Free Slice because it's not too sweet. I would also recommend the Beetroot Latte (Pictured below) or the Iced Chocolates- they have dairy free hot chocolate powder! Don't forget to check out the GF bread mix options and variety of flours for all your baking needs.

Requested gluten free cheesy fries with bacon. It was delicious! The counter staff explained the separate frier & that it would be 20 mins; but it was well worth the wait. Also had 6 different slices & biscuits in a separate cabinet. Very friendly & knowledgeable service.

One of the guests has dairy intolerance, the staff were knowledgeable about the food that can be made dairy free and they do have "allergies menu" available on request which clearly indicates which items are dairy free, vegan, gluten free, etc. The food was lovely, the staff were friendly. They do have nice outside booths which worked really well on warm summer evening. (I had "kiwi hot" chicken jalfrazi and then gulab jamun for dessert.)

I just called dominos (Richmond) to see if they could do a fully Gluten free pizza for my dad (he's celiac so he can't have any gluten, if it touches something with gluten in it he will react) The lady I talked to was amazing! (Emma? She was a manager) So lovely! She said they can do gf and she will use new toppings and a new cutting tool and cut plate to make sure there will be no cross contamination! She was bright and happy to do it for me, I'm so happy with their customer help!

Superb food, great location! Although the menu looks uninviting in regard to dietary accommodations, they are extremely willing to accommodate for any. Perfect for someone who is severely celiac. The server was friendly, and coffee was yummy. Will be returning when I next visit Nelson 🙂

Oh my goodness..... what a meal! Started with some edamame beans with a garlic twist..... being gluten free, there were only two things on the menu for a main. Not feeling like sashimi, we had the lamb..... exploding with a flavour punch and falling apart with tenderness..... holy crap the meal ended too soon..... so we asked about a gluten free dessert, not disappointed at all!..... the chocolate miso delice was to die for..... the chefs, wait staff and bar persons have truly given us a meal and drinkies to remember..... thank you for your hard work and service for your customers...... We stumbled upon this cafe and went in for brunch. We were greeted immediately with a smile and good morning - great start. The excellent service continued from there followed up with lovely food. Just love buying meals ar Akbabas. Very quick, very healthy and very yummy.... And good solid value for money. Iskender is great for people who are gluten free. Wonderful service.... Really disappointing gluten-free fish and chips meal. Fish didn't taste fresh and it wasn't battered. I can do better myself at home with gluten-free tempura batter. The salad didn't appear fresh either. I really liked the chips though. My friend said one of her pieces of fish didn't taste right either and neither of us felt 100% on the way home. Anchor used to have a really good name.

We had Le Posh do the dessert for our wedding in Feb 2023. It was fantastic! They prepared a delicious croquembouche and gluten-free vanilla flan for dessert. The quiche Lorraine we had for afternoon nibbles was also amazing. They were great to deal with and I would highly recommend.

A beautifully designed café, great ambiance indoors and outdoors, with mellow background music for a pleasant relaxed experience. A true gem close to Nelson CBD to dine in or to take away. Superfriendly staff, and lots of food & drinks choices including gluten-free and diary-free options. I had a delicious home-made chia pudding for breakfast and a great tasting latte. Kudos to Nani and her team, the 5 stars are absolutely well-deserved.

My local go to for a good coffee, only once have I had a burnt coffee and they happily remade it for me. Their gluten free chocolate biscuits are amazing. They have good local whats on info pinned to their wall, friendly staff and fast service. I was super impressed that as our Covid Levels changed they always appeared to be one step ahead of any of the other cafes with regard to their hand hygiene, contact tracing and physical distancing. Easy street parking.
