Inconsistent food that has been going slowly downhill for years. Bannys do offer gluten free options, which has kept us coming back for several years now from when it was our go-to takeaway. The food was great with nice, crispy chips and fish which cooked well.
However, this is no longer the case and hasn’t been for some time. The chips are often undercooked as well as the fish batter being far too thick and also undercooked. The past few times we’ve visited the food has been completely inedible.
We’ve mentioned this several times as it seemed as though this was going unnoticed, but having seen others complain, bring back good and look displeased, it appears Bannys has simply dropped its standards and is no longer what it once was.
We were once loyal customers, but with consistently poor food for some time, we won’t be going back.
This charming spot in Burnley boasts a cozy vibe, top-notch ingredients, and a menu that’ll impress even the pickiest eaters!

Lovely friendly staff, eating area was clean & presented ok,
Menu had plenty of choice, the lunch menu was confusing with prices & basic!
Food was nice not awesome, more cafe food & restaurant prices.
Toilets needed tlc, cobwebs etc actual toilet/wash basin was clean.
Good gluten free options.
Chairs cold & uncomfortable.
Ordered cappuccino which came in a large latte mug.
Little details lacking ie the Italian wow but with Italian price tag.

Went to have breakfast here this morning while waiting for tyres on my car. We chose this place as it has gluten free options for my wife. Two of us chose crepes one with bacon and one with lemon and sugar. The other two chose sausage and bacon sarnies. Food arrived very quickly as well as drinks. The place was clean and very quiet. Everyone enjoyed their food and the young blonde lady on the till was lovely, very polite and very accommodating. All staff were friendly and everything was tasty. The only thing I disliked was it was quite smoky from the frying and Zi could feel it on my asthma but wasn't overwhelming and will try again soon.
Enjoy breathtaking views from a wrap-around balcony and a menu that truly caters to everyone's taste with unique, thoughtful options.

Lovely meal and great staff. We went with children and grandparents and there was something for everyone. Very helpful to accommodate gluten free and dairy free dietary requirements.
Experience a plush, elegant vibe perfect for special occasions, though the vegan menu could use a refresh to stay exciting.

Wilfred's is a fine dining restaurant with an elegant and plush decor, there has been no expense spared here. The menu prices reflect the environment and so this is not somewhere for a rushed dinner and is not cheap.
Wilfreds have a vegan menu but as we have been several times now, it is getting boring and it does need updating to include some new dishes. Desserts need to be pre ordered which I do not like, I cannot understand this as it would be easy to incorporate vegan desserts on the main menu and no one would any the wiser.
I ordered the taster board and mushroom and leek risotto and hubby ordered the cauliflower pakoras and dukkah spiced aubergine.
The food was delicious, although some of the naan type bread on the taster board was dry and I think it was gluten free so may contain egg so I left it, but there was plenty. The pakoras were delicious as were the rest of the dishes.
Its great they offer a vegan menu but it needs a change but we would go back and its a lovely venue for a special occasion like a birthday.
Lovely lunch at JJ's travelled from Newcastle to Burnley for the day and we are so glad we found such a lovely cafe good food, service and friendly staff and they understand gluten free.

Been here a few times on and off and generally is quite nice and good service. Bar staff are quite friendly generally, one of the meet and greet staff seemed put out to be asked questions and help us and told me to ask someone else for a gluten free menu. Service is generally fast though on occasion food has taken an hour and once never showed up. The atmosphere is quite good and the prices are reasonable. But it's a bit like what forest gump says you never know what your gonna get. The carvery is the best bit of it in terms of quality of food.
