We stumbled upon the Jakery Bakery this afternoon just as it was closing but they were more than happy to serve us and let us sit in. It was reassuring to know that everything on site was gluten-free and coeliac safe - no risk of cross contamination at all. We had the rocky road and it was delicious! The owner's son chatted to us about the story behind the bakery and took an interest in where we from and our visit to Southwold and surrounding area. Superb hospitality! We'll visit again tomorrow before heading home. 😊

First of many visits I'm sure. ! We went as a family today. I had the burger and I think it's the best I've had in years, my wife had loaded fries which were also amazing. My daughter has a gluten intolerance, there was lots of choice on the menu and she had a wonderful meal. I real gem of a place, we look forward to coming back.

I am COELIAC ! My husband booked a table for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. I left the Swan in Southwold extremely upset! Due to So many problems with the GF Menu! I requested a number of dishes individually and was told they contain GLUTEN! I tried and tried to choose from the so called GF Menu to no avail. As you can imagine this was extremely embarrasing as other people had started staring at us! This table was booked well in advance (one month ago!) We felt extremely uncomfortable due to the unwanted attention and the lack of Compassion. This incident completely ruined what started out to be a memorable day! I/we now will NEVER forget this abhorrent experience! Fello COECIAC suffers be very mindful when going here!! If I could post this with NO STARS! I would.

A great place to go for Gluten- Free fish and chips - one of the few places in Suffolk that do them. Except that as from Apr 2025 they no longer offer them! A wasted journey and a big disappointment.

If you like beer then you can’t really visit Southwold without a visit to one of the many Adnams outlets in town. The main store has pretty much everything including a well priced cafe. Staff are always helpful and they had Gluten Free bread and Soya milk for my wife.
