Fantastic place to eat. Attentive service and lovely relaxed atmosphere. Felt thoroughly spoilt with all the gluten free options (even down to the details of GF vinegar and beer!) We shared a seafood platter with the kids and everyone loved it!

Really friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Relaxed and happy atmosphere Delicious gluten free cake. Good size mug for coffee. Loved the colourful quirky napkins. Had a lovely sunny spot outside. Would recommend.

The lady owner was fantastic. I’m allergic to so many things that it makes eating out very stressful. She made my risotto without gluten, onions and garlic - it was tasty and fresh and the service was impeccable. I love local businesses that go the extra mile so much nicer than a chain. I also watched them look after an older gent, who was obv local and a regular. That speaks volumes. Thank you 🙏🏼

We love a burger and this is our favourite burger place with gluten free options and they do take away!!!! Great beer options too. Staff and atmosphere is amazing. We will make any excuses to go!

We visited The Grove on two evenings and had a lovely time on both occasions. Many thanks must go to Angie, Sofie and particularly Toby behind the bar, who was a really good sport. With regards to the food the Youngs beer battered fish and chips is truly excellent, and the gluten free option equally delicious. I only discovered that there was a GF option during our first visit, and hadn't found this on any of their web menus, something I know Angie will be looking into. However my wife was slightly disappointed with the Devon crab and leek tart, on the new summer menu. She found that the tart's topping simply swamped the delicate flavour of the crab, and some of the samphire was a little 'woody'. I appreciate that the chef and team put a lot effort into their menus, and we hope that you'll find our comments constructive rather than simply negative. We're already looking forward to our next visit to Exmouth, and The Grove will definitely be top of our list for dinner.

What a lovely place! Fantastic location right by the beach. Firstly the staff are brilliant, always smiling polite and attentive. They really care if you enjoy your time there. We went twice in the few days we were in the area. (Its worth travelling for though). As a group of 5, ranging from 15 to 42, we had various foods, vegetarian, Gluten free, vegan. Milkshakes, Coffee's. The Buffet breakfast is not cheap but is Fantastic value. Basically when you see what you can have, and the quality of food, the price is a bargain. Two of group decided to order from menu rather then buffet breakfast, one had poached eggs with avocado, the other scrambled eggs with salmon. Portion was excellent, food delightful. Both would not stop talking about it. The only unfortunate thing was we kept filling up before we got to sweet treats, which again looked yum. Again they offer things to cater for various diets. If we lived closer it would 100% be our favourite place. But we live 150 miles away. But it has made us want to return to the area. Just to add we were staying on a holiday park, with facilities minutes away. But we chose to travel 15 minutes by car to revisit. Overall I cannot praise this place enough. I try to always be honest in my reviews, but I personally can't find fault. Well done Ashton and team

After seeing The Chronicle in a local magazine (One Magazine), my friend and I went for dinner recently. Both of us had dietary requirements, which the staff were very attentive to and incredibly helpful. No question was too much for them, which made us both feel comfortable. It can be difficult to order food out when you need to consider things like gluten allergy, but the staff did an amazing job. Plus, the food was delicious! And the portions were huge - definitely worth every penny spent. Thank you!
