We have visited the Paper Mill several times since moving to Bonnyrigg, and we are delighted that we did. The restaurant's location is ideal, and the interior is charming.
On one of our visits, we brought my grandmother, who has a severe gluten intolerance. The staff was incredibly accommodating and ensured that she had a safe and enjoyable dining experience. She ordered the fish, which she declared to be the best she had ever tasted, and she experienced no discomfort afterward.
The restaurant is also dog-friendly, and the staff is very welcoming to pets. While the location may seem a bit out of the way, I assure you that it is well worth the journey to visit this fantastic restaurant.
Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere and modern decor, with a diverse menu that's sure to impress and make you want to return!

We visited and enquired about a gluten free menu. We had to read through a page of info on the servers tablet before we got to the free from gluten offerings. The information we got back was poor and confused and was serious enough for us just to leave. Not good enough.
Enjoy a fantastic shopping experience with a garden center, gift shop, and cozy cafe offering perks like free drinks for members!

Went into Dobbies restaurant yesterday near Edinburgh.
I was there with my sister and 97year old mother.
We ordered 2 fish dinners and a Gluten free meal of Gammon egg and chips, one pot of tea and 2 waters.
When the meals arrived the chips where cold the fish was so small,
I was so disappointed with the meal.
I did bring it to the young girls attention when I paid for the meal but nothing was said.
I felt very let down and disappointed I certainly won’t be back.
For the price you pay you would expect a better service.
With a scenic view of the golf course, a charming fountain, and ducks lounging around, it’s a relaxing spot that keeps you coming back.

Lovely outlook over the golf course with the fountain spouting and the ducks basking by the side. We had an omelette as my lunch partner is gluten intolerant and they cater for people with this allergy. Not always hit cakes but asked to phone as some tray bakes they do are gluten-free. Service was good but short staff only 1 person serving but we didn't wait too long on food. Will return
