Absolutely love this hidden gem in Medway countryside. We had lovely Sunday brunch even got myself flower pot for my garden.
Great for gluten free person too.
This place is a really lovely gem. Came on a bike ride from London and had lunch here. Was super delicious and my partner is gluten free which they also cater for 🕺 we had the falafel flatbread which was great and they gave us some free pineapple salsa from their Jamaican night which we also adored.
Nicely decorated and stylised. Lovely staff.
10/10 would go again
Our only criticism is we ordered an affogato and it was a milkshake instead of ice cream with espresso but I should have asked. Thank you
Honestly one of the best gluten-free pizza’s I’ve had in the U.K.
The freshly made base is soo much better than the mass produced Pizza Express type. I travelled 30 mins for this and it was totally worth it!
Nice vibe in the restaurant, only thing to note is they are not licenced to sell alcohol which is a bit odd in the U.K. but quite normal in some other countries… bring your own booze if you want it and expect to have great food!
I waLked the length of the high street to find something gluten free and was so happy to find you! Enjoyed a filling frittata to power me through the afternoon. Thank you
We booked the pub for a post baptism lunch and they hosted over 20 of us including a newborn and a bunch of toddlers. We had coeliacs and vegetarians and they catered to everyone. Despite more of us turning up they were so incredibly accommodating and made sure everyone was happy and looked after. I can’t thank the staff enough. Shout out to the organiser (think her name is Jane?)! We love The Star and will continue to come here whenever we can :)
10/10 recommend
Love the food , atmosphere and the team are so friendly, steaks are cooked to perfection , love that I can order gluten free pasta .
The crème brûlée is out of this world .
We have been travelling for a couple of months and the coffee here at Verdigris is the best we have had in that time. The location is just lovely, fresh daffodils on the tables, great service. Each drink at our table was delivered with a Madeline. I have a wheat allergy and I asked if there was wheat in the cake. There was tho the sweet girl came back with a gluten free biscuit for me to have instead. Wow, such thoughtfulness 🤩 We won’t forget them and will return when in the area again 👌🏻👏🏻🤩 Thank you 🌸
WE WENT HERE HAS IT WAS MY MATE ANN'S SON CRAIG'S 52 BIRTHDAY 🎈🎂 THE FOOD WAS LOVELY&THERE ALSO DO A GLUTEN FREE MENU 4 PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO HAS 2 HAVE GLUTEN FREE FOOD,THE STAFF ARE VERY NICE 👍 & FRIENDLY &WERE VERY HELPFUL,THERE WERE GREAT&WE ARE GOIN 2 GO THERE AGAIN SOON,
Although there seemed to be plenty of people coming in and our the place seemed soulless. Our waiter didn't really seem to want to be there and wasn't very welcoming. Although he was polite the first dish I chose, he said all the sauages have gluten in. As i didn't know it was a sauage how would I know! Eventually settled on a lamb dish, it seemed very bony, wished I'd had the chicken shish, which my friend had, it looked really good.
Havet should look at changing the menu to indicate gluten-free, vegan, etc, without people having to ask.
The best layout of a menu I've seen was in Granada. The menus have numbers next to each dish, which corresponds to a list at the bottom of the menu. For example, 1 is nuts, 2 is gluten, 3 is shellfish, and so on. it's much easier to know what to avoid.
We had the lamb shank which was delicious and enjoyed the desserts and good choice of gluten free options. We were served by a sweet young lady called Scarlet who looked after us all beautifully. She was patient, polite and accommodating. Can definitely recommend for a large group like ours. We appreciated we were there 3 hours having a reunion dinner but never rushed. A nice friendly vibe all round. Thank you!
